Have you been told that itis time to grow up

Happy Birthday!!

In a few months I'll be 50  I will be celebrating my 50th at WDW.
Now who needs to grow up? :lmao:

I got told this last weekend, and it chapped my ***.

We were at a wedding, sitting at a table of 12. Well, DH and I have a trip to WDW planned in September, but there are three other couples and one single coming down to meet us over the weekend and one other couple we hang out with that will already be down there when we arrive.

We've done group trips to WDW/US before, and Orlando is the perfect city for young adults, as far as I'm concerned. We are all going to IOA and thrill riding on Sat morning, chilling by the pool at WL on Sat afternoon, going to downtown Orlando Sat night, then MK on Sunday and service industry night at House of Blues on Sunday.

TOTALLY adult weekend.

Anyway...one of the couples that is meeting us was at the wedding with us, and we were excitedly discussing our trip, and two other couples at the table who have almost school age children (almost 5)were sneering that we were so excited by going to Orlando. We replied that we couldn't believe they wouldn't consider joining us and bringing their kids along.

I was NOT happy. Especially when we left the wedding, and five or six of us were going to see "Cars."

We got the remark, "What are you, like 5 years old? Going to Disney and going to see a cartoon now, too?"

I feel sorry for them and their kids.

Happy Birthday. Yeah I still have another year to be a Disney Kid. Today is also my birthday and I am 45. I never plan to grow up!! :teeth:

Happy Birthday another first day of summer baby now I know 6 people with the same birthday

One of the best quotes I ever heard:

"Growing old is required. Growing up is optional."

That's just a Garfield b-day card I received from my sister. It said "Aging is mandatory. Maturing is optional."

She then went on to say, "I thought this was funny, I hope you do too!"

Well, it was cute but it IS sorta my motto! I hear it all the time. I hear something negative about every Disney trip I take. I'm 41 and I wouldn't change any of it!

Happy Birthday to you...

I was given a wonderful piece of advise a while back --

"Growing old is inevitable. Growing up is optional."

Happy Birthday! :bday:

Good for you! That is what Disney is all about. It is for the kid in all of us! I wouldn't trade all my times at Disney for anything and everytime I go, I swear I have turned into my 8 year old and I cry like a baby everytime we have to leave!

As someone who went to Disney a lot as a child, I have to say....going to Disney as an adult is SO MUCH BETTER! When I was a kid (or at least not old enough to go on my own), I wanted to stay certain places, but was always stuck staying where my parents wanted to stay. I always felt like I was missing something.

I can stay where I want. I can eat where I want. I can go back to the room if I want and not have to stand in line for Captain EO in 105 degree heat.....one of my worst WDW memories. We ended the day with my father and I not speaking to each other and my mother happy we were fighting because it meant we could go back to the room.

Let them think that way - more for US! Less people to wade through as we live it up at Pleasure Island. Less people to clog the best shopping places and the romantic restaurants. Less people who know that mini-golf is cooler at Disney, so less waiting on the courses.

I can go when I want to go. If I want to go for SuperSoap, I do....Food and Wine Festival....sure!

But, if they say it again, just say, "Yeah, you're right....it's not that great, so you're lucky you don't go." We don't want to let the secret out!

Yep my mother used to tell that to me all the time. I would just laugh and tell her I don't want to grow up.

Have you been told to grow up about Disney?

No, but sometimes people have expressed surprise that we enjoy Disney animated features even though we don't have children. ;)

Oh, and one time a co-worker exclaimed that because we like Disney animated movies, she couldn't believe DH and I have sex. :p Hmm... maybe THAT'S why my folks only took us to Disney films growing up... :scratchin :teeth:

I would grow up, but what fun would that be :confused3

My sister thinks it is funny that I get so excited about Disney. She says that I am like a computer literate 4 year old :goodvibes

It is my Birthday today and I was told by a co-worker/ supervisor that I have hit the age (46) where I really need to start to grow up about my Disney fixation.

I told him that I really peaked as far as maturity at age 35 and was in the regression mode for aging now so I am supposed to get more excited about it now then last year. With that I whistleing the Mickey Mouse club march and marched around the corner

I am still waiting for the nice men in the white coats to show up :teeth:

Have you been told to grow up about Disney?
