Have you been successful with Aulani at 7mths for summer? Also view question?

Hi,
Planning for Aulani Summer 2017.

I would like end of July for 5 nights. Before Cruise around islands

Wanted a 1BR O/V. but will settle with studio.

If I call at exactly 7mths Do you think I would be able to get a studio or 1BR ocean view or Pool at least.

Also Are the OV better for studios or 1BR or does it not matter.

Also any building better for requests regarding better views? Besides high floor?

I really want an OV after flying all the way to Hawaii....but I have read mixed reports on if it is worth it.
Any thoughts appreciated.

July and first half of Aug were elevated to premier season at Aulani starting this year. The effect of that was to reduce DVC demand for the time between about July 7 and mid-Aug. Ocean view (all room sizes) was open at 7 month out for that entire time, standard view and hotel rooms were usually gone, and island garden and pool view were often open but sometimes had issues.

Cannot help much with location requests but by design all 1BRs are also in the same place as studios since together they make up the 2BR lock-offs and there are no dedicated studios or 1BRs.

I would really suggest that you're logged in online and ready to hit book before 8:00 am eastern rather than waiting to call in at 9:00. I saw inventory disappear within minutes of me booking both times. As soon as you see the clock on your computer turn to 8:00 hit submit.

This question came up before and no one who had attempted to do both reservations at the same time responded. Consensus was that likely it would not work. When you go to the page that locks in a reservation for 20 minutes you are shown your contract or contracts to choose to reserve. If you were able to do that for both reservations at the same time, the system would be picking the same points for both reservations, including because nothing is actually used until you complete a reservation. Something would have to go wrong if the system were trying to use the same points twice, and thus either the system will not let you lock in two reservations at once or at some point in the reservation process will kick one or both of them out.
