D&R Love Disney - I know CR 14th floor was hard to get, but man - 12th floor is booked up, too? At least you got Poly LV CL! I hope you enjoy it. :D

I'm ready to hear more trip reports.....

Hello LL-Just stopping by on my break from packing. A little bit of good news today-my friend is more awake today-little baby steps is what it takes.
Prayers and PD for #1 Hockeymom's daughters friend.
Steffy-I must of missed you. Prayers and PD for you as well.
Doing little last minute things today. Trying to stock up on cold medicine-DS is starting with a cough.Yuck.
Can't believe how close my trip is. I will be able to keep in contact with my friends family.
Have a great day all.

Have a great time! Chase those cold bugs away before you go too! PD

Hi All!

I haven't dropped into the lounge for awhile. Too busy with our October MNSSHP trip. It was a GRRRRREAT Trip. Now we're back and on a short countdown to November 6th when we're off to the world again!

P & PD to those in need.

Can't wait to get to AKL Lounge on 11/7 (we have to rough it the first night at Poly GV. LOL). We'll be at AKL 11/7-11. Will any of the LLs be there then? Our first two nights are AP rate but rack the next two. Need to PD to catch an AP discount for those two nights.

Well, just thought I'd pop in for an afternoon snack and maybe an Amstel!

Sharon

Yikes! On page 2?? I could barely find the Lounge!!

Welcome back to the latest traveling Lizards... It's so wonderful to receive even a vicarious vacation fix, so thanks for sharing!

And to Debbie and samnbilly... and prayers for you and your dear ones. Makes me ever more mindful of the importance of sharing the good times when we can...

Good evening everyone! I have brought some Irish Cream coffee for those who would like a little warmer-upper - enjoy.

I rec'd a package today from AKL IPO - addressed to the "Smith Safari" - too cute! It contained general info about the resort and concierge services. A nice touch. I am SO looking forward to our trip.

I have been bopping all over the place checking out AP codes, room only codes, APs vs. PHs, the Canadian dollar (best it's been in 11 years - woohoo!!!!) etc etc. I am so glad I am using a TA (Disney specialist - she has been aswesome), she has gotten me an AP rate and she is going to look into the Room only, do the math, and advise me which works out better for me. I cannot imagine having to do this myself - I just don't have the time or the nerves and my math is "tres horrible".

So, all seems well with my AKL and Poly IPO contacts, I have e-mail my itinerary for each and will just have to wait for my 90 day mark to see if my "Breathless" ressie comes through. This is pretty much my bigger - everything else is easy to get (Crystal Palace etc).

Best wishes and PD to all the Loungers going through some
#&@% right now. Welcome back to those just returning, and hoping the time flies for those waiting to go.

TTFN - have a good night all.

Sarah

Hello everyone. First of all P & PD to everyone in need, especially Debbie and Samnbilly.
Welcome back KerryCM--can't wait to hear the report.
Just to update everyone, I go in for an EEG tomorrow morning. I have to stay up all night tonight because they want me to sleep during the test. I know I am going to be nervous so I hope I am able to sleep. I have still been going to work but my SIL has been driving me. I feel pretty dependent right now but I would much rather keep others safe and not drive until they figure out what is wrong. I will let everyone know what I find out!!:D

Prayers and PD to you sfbank. What are you going to do all night to stay awake? I hope and pray for you that you'll have good test results:grouphug: :grouphug: :wizard: :wizard:
Trying to finish up packing. I have been out all day today. My DS has a yucky cough still. My friend has had no setbacks today-so that's good news.
Hope all is well with the rest of you.

Sarah, how cool! I haven't seen anything from AKL except an emailed itinerary (liked mine better, anyway, lol!). I wonder if there's going to be one or not? Oh well, I almost feel I've been there already, I've seen so many photos and heard so many stories! It's like I'm waiting to go "home!"

sfbank, I'll be praying for you and for all the best results in the EEG tomorrow. I wish I were working tonight to help keep you awake (not that I get into the office much!).

Sharon, it's very cool to have such a quick turnaround! Looks like you'll be moving into our room at AKL as we move out, just about!

samnbilly, I hope your little one gets through the cold quickly! I was very cheered to hear of your dear friend's progress. God is good!

Steffie, how's that ankle doing, hon? I hope it's not too painful, and that it does it's healing well and quickly.

Vagal, thanks for the encouragement! Love the zero point snacks here!!

Welcome home, KerryCM and MomRules!!

Thanks Liz, isn't Bamby amazing! So many beautiful clippies here!!

Debbie, our prayers are still going out to your end of the world...

I had a good day today. My friend and I went to Michael's and got some scrapbooking supplies (some general stuff for me to catch up with, and some Disney things that I thought were cool). I got a lot of coloured cardstock for the characters to sign for my Disney scrapbook. I'm just trying to decide how to present it to them...maybe I can punch holes into some and put them into a smaller binder for them, temporarily.

I also saw my shrink for the first time, to start my relaxation therapy to get me over my fear of Splash Mountain and all the other Disney thrill rides...I'd really like to experience them with the kids and my hubbie without being a wet blanket. Though Meredith probably won't make the height requirement anyway...I don't plan to shoot for the Tower of Terror, but I'd really like to brave Splash Mountain, and I'm very, very curious to see the inside of Space Mountain and The RnRC.

PLEASE SEND PIXIE DUST (it isn't prayer-worthy) for my hair, which at this very moment is plastered to my skull with Miss Clairol...it's possible I might be turning from mousey dark brown into a beautiful light golden brown as I type.....(yipes!). One thing for certain, my gray will be gone! If it works, I'll spend the money for some highlights and a decent cut. If it doesn't work, I'll just shave my head.
:earseek:

I'll report back in a while!!

Love,

Kris

Samnbilly--what do you think I am going to be doing?? Working on my trip of course!!!! I hope you have a great time!! Have a safe trip and I look forward to hearing all about it!!:sunny:

Hmm. Lighter mousey brown.

ah well. No disaster, at any rate, and it has that nice, freshly coloured body and softness.....

;)

Kris

storybookmum:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:-Glad you didn't have to shave your head. That was the first laugh I've had, we'll make that second-after sfbank working on her trip all night to stay up for her EEG. See, laughter is good for the soul......

:wave2:  room wave..

Thanks for all of the good wishes. I'm okay. My ankle is throbbing like a %$&^%^%$&%$*% but I'm going to DisneyWorld in 55 days, so I don't care.

:grouphug: #1Hockeymom. My best friend's nephew was in a motorcycle accident this year. Broke all kinds of bones. We thought he was going to get accepted into the Craig Hospital, but somehow, he recovered and walked (with the aid of a walker) out of the hospital. Amazing how it is with small towns. People you don't even realise know you, stop to give you a hug. Here's mine...{{{{{{#1Hockeymom}}}}}}

Good luck sftbank plan away tonight. December is a wonderful time to plan your trip. I remember when my counter would have been as large as your counter, but I refused to put a counter up until I was under 200 days..

stroybook Glad you don't have to shave your head...

Welcome home KerryCm and momrules! Can't wait to live vicariously through you two! :smooth: :smooth: :smooth:

To all in need, ton of PD.

To all almost in the world... kiss Mickey for me.

hightown Okay SHARE!!!! :D :hyper2: :hyper2:

Well, I'm off to bed. A wonderful friend is having heart surgery tomorrow. When I went to visit her, the nurses thought I was a patient. :earseek: I've got to pull myself together and get a cane so I won't limp as much....:faint:

HELP ME FELLOW LIZARDS!!!!

I was going to put my son and his wife up at the AKL, but now I don't think he will arrive until Monday. How are the CR garden rooms? Is the north wing nice? Then he can get to me quickly via monorail. They'll have a car, but the parking lots are going to close Christmas week before he even gets his "vacationing" body out of the bed. :crowded: :crowded:

He just doesn't have any idea of how packed it will be. I want him to have transporation options, and yet not be at my resort. I've been planning this trip over a year and he just now told me he will grace me with his presence. I have reserved a room for him the whole time, but he "wasn't sure". Most of our meals are going to be at the MK, Poly, CR or GF or I'd put him at Pop.

Hmmmm, since I've already booked his stay at the AKL, and I got such a great rate and he wants to sleep in every day, and probably will not go with us to the parks that much and will just show up for dinner, I should just keep the ressies at AKL and not worry about how long he has to travel to get to me. What say you LL??

My only problem is that I will have to go to the AKL to check him in won't I???? Kids....:duck:

sfbank - Best of luck on those tests, I'm sure the WDW planning will keep you going 'til the wee hours!;)

samnbilly - That's great about your friend, I've been thinking of you often. Hopefully, this is the beginning of the road to recovery.

storybookmum - I knew what was coming before I read your second hair-color post!! I have dark brown hair, tried to make it lighter golden brown once, everyone asked why I dyed it the same color!!

Steffy - I've had my left ankle broken twice, first time I was pregnant with "k" and they couldn't operate (tri-malleo fracture with a long fracture of the fibula.) Second time was about 6-7 yrs. later, nearly the same break (tri-malleo fracture) and they did operate. Metal plate, screws and pins, I felt like the Terminator!! I feel so sorry for you - what a trooper to be planning your trip anyway!!:teeth:

Debbie - Continued big hugs to you and your girl.

Well, I booked a trip for next Spring Break... what an ordeal!! I do believe I got a cm with very little experience. Called and asked about the new codes, asked about the Passholder rate and the new general public code and the dates they were available. She had to put me on hold for quite a while, then came back and stated that they were still looking up the dates for the AP rate, but the general public rate was available for my time frame. I told her I had looked it up on my computer while waiting, and found that the AP rates were only 'til the middle of Feb. She asked what resort I wanted, I said I wanted to try to get WL, she said that all views were available. When I asked for the prices, she quoted me $1500+ for 4 nights CL, 1400+ for woods view and 1200+ for std. I asked her to read it back to me several x, and she read back what I asked for, so I went ahead and booked, but when she told me the deposit was for $200, I knew something was wrong. I hung up and called back, got a nice cm who looked up my res., and the first cm had booked me a pkg. with tickets, when I specifically asked for "room only" and she had mentioned that the code I requested was for "room only, no tickets!" Oh, well, got the whole thing straightened out. I don't plan on staying CL at WL, though. I feel like there are a few kinks to be worked out, and I can save up for a big blow-out for the summer LL meet at AKL!!!;) :wave2:

Good Morning Everyone!

I hope everyone is on the road to recovery. I work in an ER. We are seeing the flu symptoms start early this year. We are also a Trauma center and I see miracles happen so #1 hockey mom I hope your DDs friend is one of them.
sfbank- first time seizures can be scary good luck with your test.
storybookmum- My beautician is my best friend the last time I tried to color my hair it turned orange. SO no more. I am glad yours turned out better. I am also on WW. Some days I get so tired of counting points but I can't wear my jeans either so a counting I go.

Have a great morning!

nrsldy - Hey!! I just noticed where you're from - we're right down the road in Clinton!:teeth:

Mornin', everyone!!:Pinkbounc :flower1: :Pinkbounc

Samnbilly - I'm so glad your friend is on the up and up! With this new news I think you'll have a MUCH better time at WDW. It looks like you're getting out of Dodge so you just have yourself a merry ol' time!

Sfbank - Praying for good results for you!

Steffy - To stick with kid or not to stick with kid, that is the question. You made me giggle with the mistaken patient identity. I hope that doesn't hurt your feelings, but I think we can relate to your situation. I do wish the pain would lessen. It's a good thing that you have some time before your trip. We all know that you've waited SOOOOO long for this. So when you make your decision on your DS, keep that in mind when booking his room.

KerryCM, Hightown - Welcome back!

Yeah, I'd like to read more trip reports, too. :D

k&a&c'smom - I certainly have my fingers crossed for the AKL lizard meet....in July of course.

Debbie - I'm still thinking about you. I know you just can't get enough of these so here goes

Okay, I must work, work, work. More b-day parties going on for my SIL and a cousin tonight along with appointments and cake to pick up on my lunch hour so I have a pretty full day ahead of me. :wave2:

Morning everyone! Just dashing in for a quick pastrie and coffee and then it's back to work.

Thinking good thoughts for everyone.

I've never done a formal trip report but will just do a quick recap here. Weather was beautiful although did get caught in a downpour waiting to get into EPCOT and got soaked to the skin!

First time at a value and we stayed at POP. It was really fine. Buses good although crowded. I'm going to appreciate AKL buses all the more in 14 days!

Arranged this trip to be with another DISer (Lori-in-NY) and her daughter and that was fun for all of us.

And the really GRREAT, Spectactular, Unbelievable part of the trip....take a look at my signature/trip list!

Sharon
