Have you been "Bitten" by the Concierge "Bug"? aka The LIZARD LOUNGE!

I find it odd that Mark Newman would suggest that his staff is top notch.

The CL staff at the resort itself is pretty good (not nearly as "Disney" as some of the other CL's we have stayed at.)

He must have no idea how the WL IPO staff communicates. Their e-mails are few and far between, filled with bad grammar and very unprofessional. They are never willing to go the extra mile to get something done. They frustrate you so much you end up doing everything yourself.

Melissa at IPO seems to be the exception.

I wouldn't even dare try and plan anything special with them for fear of having them ruin the whole thing.

I couldn't help myself. This song has been in my head all day as I clean and pack for tommorrow. Yeah! I will see you all when we get back.
I LOVE this song...and it sticks in my head too!! Especially NOW, since I've seen episodes of AIRLINE (*on A&E featuring southwest airlines!). I'm SO happy for you, and I LOVE the pregnancy meter on your page!!! Congrats to you on your upcoming new addition.

annamonte~Thanks for the detailed post! Wow...it sounds as if you truly enjoyed your time at the CR. :goodvibes Kudos to your DS for pleading to obtain the MK view! I've done this myself a few times over the years, LOL.

I'm shocked they did not do anything for your 10th anniversary?!? I'm sure you made them aware of the event in advance, so there is no excuse for this oversight. We stayed on this floor in the past, and received special treats/gifts in the room for a celebration. I too...am a bit puzzled over what happened? Perhaps you should drop them a little note. Sometimes, it's the only way to raise the bar. Thanks again for the GREAT post!

VAgal76~Krispy Kreme (*FOLLOW THAT TRUCK!! LOL :p ), ahh. I could use one right now!! :teeth:

As much as I love the 14th floor, I adore the GF RPC. BUT...on the other hand, I am a BIG sentimental fool, so I PREFER the view of the MK from the top of the CR. ::yes:: It's a "WALT" thing, perhaps. I can't truly place my finger on it. I just know...from up there, in the silence of the late evening, the entire WORLD appears to be in PERFECT HARMONY. :cloud9:

DisneyMom23Boys~VERY SAGE ADVICE!!! It's what I ALWAYS do, reserve the suite first...and then wait to see if ANY discounts can be applied!! Otherwise, the suites will all be GONE by the time the discounts (if any) are made available. ;)

Steffy~Your new plans sound GLORIOUS!! (*And have you in the running for the #1 SISTER of the year award!!). Sounds a lot more fun & exciting than the mouseketree!!! ::yes::

*As for the stroller encounter, I've had one too! It's no fun to be standing in line waiting to buy a powerade and a krispy treat at AK park (Great combo!!), only to feel the excruciating CRUNCH of the front rim of a stroller being SLAMMED into the back of your heels/achilles tendons...as you struggle to remain standing. No apology either, (he just scampered away!)....until I pointed him out to DH later in the day! During the incident, DD & DH were riding the Kali River Rapids. Well...he nearly WET HIS PANTS when DH approached/confronted him. It was worth the wait. Chivalry is alive & well with my DH. :teeth:

 To all the LL's in the ROOM!! Enjoy the weekend!

TTFN...DF99 :wave2:

should be working, but couldn't resist popping in...
I e-mailed Valerie on our experience at WL, but haven't received a response back? Not to even say I got your e-mail and thanks for letting me know?
VAGal & GoofySuse (and everyone else who has commented on this issue) I am not surprised by the lack of response nor by the lackadaisical response from WL CL manager. I had the same experience w/Poly CL manager, Rich Mathews. I sent him a letter highlighting both the exceptional and the not so magical moments of our most recent trip. I received no acknowledgement whatsoever, not even an e-mail saying "thanks for your comments." I do agree that this attitude of "as little as I can do to get by" among the managerial staff has to find its way down to the other cast members. Fortunately, there are some great CMs at each resort, and they are the ones who keep us loyal to WDW.
floridafam your opinion of WL IPO is in sync w/my opinion of Poly IPO; makes sense, as they are one and the same. I've had a CM completely drop the ball on some special plans for our 10th anniversary last year, then completely screw up some PSs on our last trip. I'va also had the experience of asking for suggestions for unique and interesting things to purchase for an in-room gift and received the "check the Disney Florist" answer, after already stating that I had seen nothing appealing on their website. On the other hand, I have had CMs in this same office bend over backwards to make things work out for us. The inconsistency makes it that much more frustrating. I think those of us who have experienced the best that WDW offers really notice more when the performance is not up to par.

Does anyone know if there are pictures posted or on another website of the VP suite at Contemporary? I've been able to find the Pres suite, but not the VP....

Thanks for posting this! I am renting a toddler bed from A Baby's Best Friend and had seriously considered getting a DVD player from them just so I could purchase the Wishes soundtrack and listen to it while watching the fireworks from our room. I'm so happy to hear that I can listen to the music in the room!

Sounds like you had a great trip!

THANKS to all of you for your kind words re. my new December plans:teeth: I am really excited! I called my brother and SIL yesterday on DB's cell to be sure they are free that weekend. They were driving down through Maine on their honeymoon and DSiL was squealing in delight as DB gave her some details (MVMCP,AKL etc.):Pinkbounc :bounce:
I still can't get over the airfare prices!:earseek:
And I still can't get over all these negative experiences some are having at WL, Poly and GF IPOs. After dealing with Andrea and Don at AKL CL and Alana at BWI Ipo, I would be very disappointed. Steveanddonna made the point well, "I think those of us who have experienced the best that WDW offers really notice more when the performance is not up to par." ::yes:: :smooth:
Have a great Friday evening everyone! I'm leaving out cupcakes:crazy:
:wave2:

SO, to be part of Johsonset's family, and go on vacation with her to AKL's club level, I need to divorce my husband and marry her brother.. right? Did I leave anything out! Awesome gift, and so much better than the tree! You did well!

Big wave to everyone! Its a hockey weekend here with DH missing in action up in the UP somewhere. I hope to be caught up on everyone's news by tomorrow!

Happy Friday!
Debbie

I think you'd need to do something about her SIL. :teeth: BTW Debbie I would won the bet. I knew you could do it! I think Pop sounds fun-just not with 3 kids 5 & under.....

I haven't really said much on the subject but I've been pretty satisfied with Poly IPO. They've always gotten me my PS's even both CRT and Princess Storybook on short notice one trip. However they don't seem to measure up to what I've read about AKL or Epcot resorts. I LOVE the atmosphere and location of Poly and Chef Dick is great!

I do have a reservation for Boma's for breakfast so we can check out AKL. And I think I'll have to stop by the Epcot area resorts too so DH can see those. He hasn't been in that area since BW was built.

Looking forward to meeting ya'll in December!

BambiTamby Thank you so much for the compliments. You are a sweetie.
We're looking forward to meeting in December too! But now that you switched to WL, guess we won't be :wave2: to each other around the GF. :(

I know, I know, MIL favored the WL and you were able to get that suite, oh that suite.

New Lizards and Lizard Wannabees Welcome to the lounge. Pull up a chair, grab a drink, a munchie and soak it all in.

So many Lizards off already, so many planning for upcoming trips and oh my #1hockeymom Welcome back!

:rotfl: Debbie Don't divorce your DH:crazy: !! We LLs are related by Disney:teeth: And you and I are AKL sisters:earsgirl: :earsgirl:
I love all my family but I sure wish someone else in the family had the WDW gene::earsgirl: :earsboy: Of course, I've passed it along to DD and 2 of my brothers like it just fine..but even my DD(8) asks me to please quit talking about Disney World so much:rolleyes:
I need to make it to a "Lizard Meet" :grouphug: :cool1: :cheer2: :thewave:

LOL, johnsonet:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: ... our kids thought we'd get over this "obsession" once we returned from our summer trip. Not a chance -- I think we're worse! :earseek: ::yes::

DS keeps asking DH what his "counter" says... officially it's -54 days!! Never got rid of that old counter we had and certainly can't replace it while the word is mum about our next sojourn. Oh, what a tangled web... :smooth:

Yep, we are all certifiably addicted to WDW. I'm convinced that this is a good addiction to have, but for some reason I can not get my family to see it "my way."

Johnsonet - Thanks for the cupcakes. I'm definitely getting my fill. :D

BT - Kick your heels up at that heavenly spa....it's well deserved. :smooth:

Well, I'm sorry I can't stick around like I'd like to tonight. We headed out early in the morning to go back to the mountains for fall foilage (or the beginnings of it) followed by a scrumpcious dinner at a nice restaurant tomorrow evening for my b-day. Tomorrow night's ressies have been confirmed and bottle of wine is chillin' as I plan to do absolutely nothing but to soak up the sun (weather is going to be perfect :teeth: ) and enjoy my very large family at dinner. I will catch you guys later when I can. I've left a bottle of Bailey's, Zebra Dome's and Sugar Cookies out for all to enjoy! :wave2:

Have a very happy birthday, VAgal!

:cake: :cool1: And thanks for the Bailey's... have to wait up tonight for the return of DD(13) from her class trip to Philly. Wish we were having some of that nice VA weather you mentioned. Rain, rain, rain here in western Mass tonight... foliage will likely be a thing of the past by morning...:umbrella: ::yes::

Wow - sounds fabulous! Our foliage is only about halfway there; it will probably be all blown away by the time we return from WDW.
We sure do have a lot of Libras on this thread - I get to celebrate my b-day at the Poly. Don't know what (or should I say if?) DH has planned, but I'll be happy just to be in the magic. DH has bet me that I will chicken out of wearing a birthday pin. I am determined to prove him wrong.

BTW, johnsonet I think your new plans are awesome, much more fulfilling than the mouseketree.

Our weather has turned quite chilly, so I'll get up early tomorrow to bake scones for the lounge. See you in the AM!

WOW...This thread moves fast. Just a quick update, I finally received a response from WL IPO:

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Hello!

Yes, thank you. We have received your faxed Personal Vacation Itinerary Planner and are currently processing your requests.

Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance!

Yours Truly,

Daisy

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

So, I'm not losing hope. Since this is my first Concierge stay, I have one other newbie question. Will they let me know if my requests are not available & if I don't hear back should I assume they were secured? I really don't mean to be dumb I just haven't had the time to read all the pages of this thread and for some reason every time I try to "Search", my browser shuts down.

Thanks again for everybody's help, you guys are great!

Wow, does anyone know if channel 20 plays the Wishes soundtrack at the Poly too? We just returned, and as you can see by my sigline, we like to stay LVC--and of course, often catch the fireworks from our balcony. It's not the same without the music/soundtrack though. I bought the CD on our last night so next time we can try to play it in the room, but if it's on the TV we won't need to do that.

I can't recall what was on channel 20--I thought 23 had "Disney Company Clips" and 19 had the bedtime stories--did 20 have the top ten lists....?

You know, it's a bit frustrating that there isn't anything in the room that tells you about Wishes playing on the TV. It seems like something that they should/could easily tell you about when you check in or something.

Happy Birthday!:Pinkbounc :bounce: Have a wonderful dinner and a wonderful day::yes:: princess:

floridafam I sure was sorry to raed about yuour news, but January isn't so bad...and it sounds as though you aren't too disappointed. You sure do have a lot going on right now...:teeth:

My kitten is doing GREAT!:cat: She is off the bottle (thankfully) and eating regular food and using a litter box:earseek: Instinct is amazing:crazy: She is just the love of our lives around here:sunny: Don't know how I'll possibly leave her in December. Actually, I'm going to AKL CL- I'll be just fine::yes::

Looking very forward to those home-made scones, steveanddonna:teeth: MY FAVORITE:cutie:
