That's interesting, I'll be curious to hear the outcome. I certainly would think that you'd have had something from the cruise line. We can't find a "land-sea" package that we like, for May 2006, so I'll probably be creating my own as well. Keep us posted!

We also received an email this morning from Melissa at WL IPO. Thank goodness. I think we will have a plate of tuxedo strawberries waiting in our room when we arrive.

Anyhow, DS5 scored his first soccer goal today. Very exciting. That is about the only thing going on around here. We are now 3 weeks out. I hate to wish time away, but.......

Happy Birthday...Anniversary...Trip...Sunday...and all else to everyone celebrating. Isn't October a GREAT month?!

Yes, I WILL wear the pin - it's my DH who doesn't believe me. In spite of many years singing in a band, I only enjoy being the center of attention when on stage. I even hated opening gifts at my bridal shower because everyone was watching. However, to me, being at Disney is a little bit like being "on stage" so I will gladly wear the pin and graciously accept all the attention that comes my way.

Had 4 e-mails from Poly IPO yesterday, 2 from Tara and 2 from Melissa. They seem to be really on the ball this week. I'm hoping the service issues some of us experienced were a result of the influx of guests expected for the Funai classic (you know how demanding those golf fans can be ) and playing catch-up after the hurricanes.

I appropriated DH's Starbucks Harvest blend for the lounge; a pot is brewing now. Enjoy it with the baked French toast with sauteed apples I left out!

GoofySuse - Didn't make to "Skyline Drive" since we tend to take the beaten path. We've found waterfalls and other breath taking views by taking the lower road. I'm about mid-way between Richmond & Charlottesville. I love VA - beautiful mountains (though slightly smaller than others), rolling hills and beaches all rolled into one package. We're able to visit all over the state without much effort where our home is located. Another stroke of luck for me I guess since DH was born and raised here. I love to travel (I inherited my DF's rambling bone) and seeing other places, but VA is truly home for us.

Thanks for all the warm birthday wishes. Today is my "official" birthday, but we celebrated last night so not to intrude on Monday morning work schedules.

I completely enjoyed myself yesterday. Great food, drinks and a family's warm conversation and embrace. It's what I consider the perfect birthday gift. Nothing else tops it.

BT - It looks like there's another Uh-Oh at the Poly. I hope they can fix this soon. Royal Kube would be a good comp.

Hello! Just checking in from here in Vegas! We got here safely and our trade show booth went up smoothly, so that's good news. The exhibit itself actually begins tomorrow, but I'll be in pre-show meetings most of today. We're at Bally's, and let me tell you, I keep looking longingly at the Bellagio out the window! Let's just say that Bally's could use some serious refurb, LOL!

DisneyNotes - I always make room-only res., and have never received the type of document pack described by GoofySuse. I can't comment on the cruise documents, as I've never done that, but all I get for room-only is my confirmation. Lately, they have sent a little brochure packet, with a personalized letter describing our resort and all the new WDW attractions, but that is usually right before we get there. This seems to be a new thing, it's only been this year.

steveanddonna - LOL! I know what you mean about not wanting to be the center of attention. But when DD and I went to WDW last Dec. we arrived on my b'day and had to exchange our AP vouchers for the real thing. The cm handed me a button, I don't know where she found that info, I didn't tell her. DD insisted I wear the button, and I completely forgot about it, until someone would say "Happy Birthday" and grin at me! My response was the same every time, blush and say "Oh, thank you!" Have a great trip and even greater birthday!!

HI ELISABETH!!!! Viva Las Vegas!!! What's the weather like there??? I have to agree with you about Bally's. They boast some of the largest rooms but they REALLY need updating. We've stayed at Bellagio and Paris. Of the two, I actually like Paris better. If you do make it over to Bellagio, their Steakhouse and Oriental restaurants are fantastic. I hope your trade show goes well!!!! We'll have lots of goodies waiting for you back here in the lounge when you return.

I used to NOT get any packets in the mail and for some reason, this year I get several EVERY DAY!!!!
What gives? LOL!

Yesterday, I got another one from WL, and one from CR and AKL!

I'm about 95% packed. I'm mailing a package (OK its really 2...) to the Poly tommorow. Diapers, wipes, a few extra clothes, surprises for the kids, books for plane trip home.... I can't wait to be there but so much to do at work first-it will be so great to have that all done! I'm still hopeful this will be the trip that wins over my non-Disney DH. My DD was talking to MIL today-"Grandma do you LOVE Disney?" "well, I've been to Disney" "No Grandma-do you LOVE Disney?" "I liked the Country Bears" "No Grandma-do you LOVE Disney?" Disneymom23boys-Great letter! I'll keep an eye out for your crew on the 26th. We'll be there (dinner at CP) with DS(3) Peter Pan, DD(5) Wendy, DD(21 months) Tinkerbell [not so sure she'll wear the costume so she might just been in tink green T & shorts with a Tink crown she loves], DH Captain Hook (hat only is in the suitcase), and me a very low key pirate (Halloween bandana). Hey that reminds me I better start sewing the Peter Pan costume!

Woody-Happy Birthday to your DD! Hope you all get better quick and stay that way for a looong while!

Donna-are you packing between baking? Can't wait to bump into you. DH won't suspect a thing because he knows DS will be introducing us to everyone we pass! We (Lizzie, Joe & I) were watching the planning DVD so kids could tell me what rides they wanted to go on and Joe kept telling me he wanted to meet all the people! Don't know where these conservative/shy parents got this little social butterfly. He's very good for the entire family! We think he's going to be a diplomat someday....

Gotta get to bed to get a good night's sleep for the long week ahead.
