GoofyJoofy No problem! I just want you to stay at the BW and see just how wonderful it is! :bounce: I have 2 of these rooms booked for my trip so I can let you know exactly how they are layed out. Now you will need to plan another trip to stay there.

Stacey, I can totally relate to the mystery of sons. Ours is 10 -- has been through the Pokemon thing and is currently in Yu-Gi-Oh mode. But... I find his obsessions can be redirected at times! ;)

Some boy gift suggestions include anything Stitch (and I bet he'll be even more popular this fall given the new MK attraction) or perhaps something to do with your son's favorite attraction (e.g., my son lingered a VERY long time in the Pirates of the Caribbean gift shop). Some boys are very into the "villain thing", too. My son thought that villain specialty shop at MGM was cool. And don't even get me started on instruments! My son lingered in Morocco, the AK -- anywhere that had instruments, especially drums!

Or if your son is into collecting things, maybe a pressed penny starter kit (with coin rolls) or a couple of pins on a theme (they have "pin hats" in addition to lanyards that my son thought were neat. My son did decide he wanted to start collecting pins and really lingered over his first choice (which turned out to be a Space Mountain pin in honor of his favorite MK attraction).

Since our summer trip was a first visit for the kids, we kept it simple -- had autograph books & pens along with an Epcot Passport kit in the room for each of them upon check-in. It saved us from having to buy those at a shop that first day and to be honest, the kids got way more into the autograph thing than I'd anticipated (again, perhaps because they were first-timers -- your kids are pros by now!) :wave2:

Good Evening Lizards,
I can see everyone has been busy making their Christmas plans. I can only imagine how beautiful WDW must be during the holidays.

Well, we are 16 days away from our trip and I am trying to think of anything I may have forgotten.

I do have a question! What should we do the first day/night we are at AKL CL? Where should we go for dinner, or should we just enjoy the lounge?

I better start packing or at least getting everything together and ready. But first, I think I'm going to pour myself a little Baileys on the rocks......hm maybe a little bit more:drinking:

Angel

Goofy's Muse-you are so sweet. Those are some excellent suggestions. My son does LOVE Stitch. My kids are really disappointed the passholder preview is right after we leave:sad:
I'm definitely going to get them new autograph books and pens. They both love the pin collecting also so that's perfect. I'm not going to go crazy-I just want a little Disney 'magic' when we get there so they will be totally excited. Again-Thanks for all of your suggestions.

Twinmomplus2new PM'ed me and said that someone here in the LL Thread wanted to see some photos of the Christmas tree that was in our AKL suite. I hope the following links work:

AKL Suite Tree Photo # 1
AKL Suite Tree Photo # 2
AKL Suite Tree Photo # 3
AKL Suite Tree Photo # 4
AKL Suite Tree Photo # 5
AKL Suite Tree Photo # 6

The tree was beautiful and such a wonderful addition to the suite. By the way, my little munchkin loved sleeping with the lights on: click here. (Sorry the photo is so grainy -- I used a very low res version of the photo when I first posted it.)

Good Early Morning Fellow LL,

Thanks to everyone who has PM'd me or inquired about me. This is first chance I've had to log on - a lot has happened, since last we "spoke."

Yes, got my first knee shot. Hurt like $#^&*! Apparently, I didn't take it too well going in (the needle going in) that I went white and :faint:. Pain was bad. But eventually they sent me on my way. Problem was, the pain didn't go away. Was driving to PT last week and got side-swiped by teenager who just got license and didn't think the Yield sign applied to him. He honestly said "Hey man, I was told yield right of way and she was on my left so I didn't have to yield." Fortunately for me, I was in my pickup truck (which was bigger than his chevy." Unfortunately, he didn't hit the bed he hit the cab and totalled it. Fortunately, he didn't total me. But I ask you LL's, isn't it time for a break for me. What further stunk, the teenager (ok he was 19), had no insurance and no job. ARRGH - the insanity of it all.

I have spent the last week getting over the headache from the crash and overall soreness. Monday I go back for my 2nd shot - the doc is going to keep me 4-6 hrs this time based on my last reaction. I'm hoping he'll give me, at the very least, lidocaine to numb the injection area.:(

I hope everyone going to the World has A GREAT TIME and PLEASE, everyone, drive safely!

MMAUSE - I'm so sorry you're having a rough time. - To You!

I hope everyone is waking up to the smell of the fresh brewed coffee. I've also put out warm danishes, croissants and bagels. The freshly squeezed juice is on the other table. Help yourselves! :sunny:

Just wanted to post in the forum that I knew would understand this:

I am obviously a delirious Disney junkie! I just called the AKL and Poly to get the telephone and e-mail concierge contacts for our upcoming trip. Just hearing the "Aloha, can't wait to see you, Have a Magical Day etc...etc..." got me SO excited I can hardly wait - and we aren't going until FEBRUARY!! Oh well, lots to dream about and plan(!) until then.

Hope all is well with everyone - mmause sorry to hear things are rough right now - that kid that hit you needs a wake up call!!! What a ding-dong. Hope things look up this week!

Take care all and "Have a Magical Day" :hyper:

mmausse, you poor thing! I certainly hope that things start getting better for you right now. in abundance for you. I am so glad you weren't injured in the crash. It just makes me furious when people don't have insurance. Then the victim of the crash has to deal with filing with their own insurance and possible increased premiums. It's just plain not right. I will pray that the next treatment for your knee will not be painful like the last one.

Just saved $300 on my airfare for the Dec. trip. SWA had a new Internet deal and I was able to convert. WooHoo :thewave:

Oh, I didn't mean to confuse everyone!:earseek:
I need to post the regular and deluxe room floorplans on that link!
The only ones I have for the BWI are the suites.:o

Another "running thru the lounge" post!:hyper:
Models coming in today for tomorrow night's show!

goofyJoofy...I got those great rates on SWA too!
Went ahead and got tickets for December and January WDW trips as well as a couple of market trips to Las Vegas and LA.
Those points add up...if you haven't, get on Rapid Rewards!
DH has a "companion pass"......he flies for FREE with me!:teeth:
Saves a bundle and certainly helps pay for those concierge
"upgrades".::yes::

mmausse...I'm on the phone right at this moment leaving you a voice message!

I love seeing all these great ideas, links, and pics here!
You ALL are adding some much wonderful information for everyone!
KUDOS to the LIZARD LOUNGE !!!!!!

Well, I think we are going to switch over to AKL for Christmas.

They did confirm that there will be a Sunrise Safari on Christmas Day.

Someone tell me I am making the right decision. I really wanted to try the BWI and have a great rate.

floridafam - You had a tough decision but from all I've read, AKL is a fabulous resort and the Sunrise Safari sounds awesome! And hey, BWI will still be there next time. BTW, what great rate were you getting? I've been having a heck of a time finding discounts the first week of December! Good luck!

I was able to get a rate of $373 per nt at the BWI for a standard concierge room. The normal rate for that time is about $600.

This is a Florida Resident rate. I almost don't want to let it go because only rack rate is available at AKL.

Don't let that rate go!!! Best I could do is $405
for reg BWI-CL using BAS code.

floridafam Give the BWI a chance! It is so awesome there, you will feel so welcomed and at home. The rate is another great reason for going. I know you will love the BWI!

floridafam-I would definitely do BWI if I had that rate. That's awesome! I'm sure its a difficult decision-but rack rate-ouch:faint: Those beatiful pictures of BWI have me drooling for next time.Congratulations on your pregnancy. That's wonderful.
mmause-Prayers and PD your way-oh and the bottle of baileys for you too. Sounds like you need it.

BT--do you know when your market trip to Las Vegas will be? I will be at a trade show for my company in Las Vegas October 16-21. I'll be at Bally's Las Vegas for most of the trip (1st night might be at Paris) :)

Floridafam You're in a tough spot:teeth: but you cannot go wrong with either resort...

MMausse YES! It is time you caught a break!:wave2: I am so sorry for all your troubles. It's amazing how ignorant some people are. I got into a wreck when I first started driving and a woman turned RIGHT into my car. She later told the officer that she thought the rule when turning into oncoming traffic at a stoplight was, once two cars pass you, you can go. She really was serious! #$%@@&*!! Anyway, take care of yourself and good luck
:wave2:

Floridafam: Congrats on your move to Florida and your new addition. I know how you feel about picking your resort. You got an awesome rate at BWI, I think if it were me that's what I would pick. You are going to have a great time whatever you choose. I wish it were me. ;)
