Now I just have to complete my campaign and convince DH that we must return to Disney. He doesn't understand my addiction to the boards. It is my fix and my haven from the craziness of life. I have been a long time lurker (18 months) but just decided to start posting here!

My kids think all hotel should come with a lounge! They might be in for a shock when we are out of town next week for my brothers wedding and stay at a Courtyard!

I would like to put out some of that yummy pineapple bread for a snack. I could eat that all day!

Hi all,

Just wanted to drop by see how you all have been. I am working very hard on our WDW trip. Every spare minute has been spent trying to work something out for a CL stay. Thank you all for the suggestions!

I tried to take your advice
Johnsonet, Hockeymom and Bambi Tamby to move our stay at ALK to the end of our trip. However, they did not have any availability for CL. I was able to add three days on the beginning of our trip, but we are on rack rate. Ouch
I have called back every day to see if anything had opened. But so far there has been nothing. But….I have not given up. I will be up and on the phone at 4:00 AM tomorrow when they open up. Guess I really am a lizard!


GoofyJoofy I took your suggestion and tried to book at any resort over by Epcot. But it was a no go for CL other than rack rate. DH really does not want to change resorts three times if we have to be on a rack rate. Guess it was not to be.

I was pleasantly surprised with DH. I thought he would go ballistic when he heard the rate. His response was “well…..it is our anniversary, and you have never liked to do anything half way. So let’s go for it.” I almost dropped over.


Part of me is really happy and part of me has OCD about getting a better rate.

Bambi Tamby I hope your business is back to normal after your water main broke. Maybe you need an emergency trip to rest and relax after all of that. Hmm

Hocky Mom don’t work too hard. Have you set up your next trip? It always makes hard work easier when you have a vacation to look forward to.

Mmausse WOW that was a horrible experience. I hope you are feeling better. I would imagine your therapist has marked your allergy’s on your medical record. IT SHOULD have already been on there. Thank goodness you came through it all.

big wave to all! I have a counter, but its for CBR! I actually wanted POP! Yes, this lizard was going to go value, but a value day at Disney is better than a day at work, right? I haven't booked airfare yet, but I think I can pull off a long weekend before my AP explodes! *I am sure it will explode, as it has burned a hole in my traveling purse since I bought it!*

Yes, work will go much nicer if I know there is a four day Disney trip in there!

Thanks for posting this, GoofyJoofy. I was wondering about VAgal, too. We also haven't heard from goodferry in a while. I don't think things have gotten any better for
WoodysRU. All we can do is keep her and her family, especially her baby-to-be, in our prayers.

BT you are such a good daughter-in-law! Now you know that sharing the joys of Disney with various family members is absolutely the ONLY reason DH and I go at all, right? LOL!

Yay, Debbie! Any day at Disney beats a day at home!! Delighted to see your counter. I know I can't imagine us being able to do CL again, don't know how we're paying for this one yet....so I'm not married to AKL (repeat that over and over, Kris, you are NOT married to AKL or to CL, no matter how good it feels when you get there!!!)

Angel, aren't DHs amazing sometimes? I still haven't figured out why DH didn't have a fit about our reservation. Didn't even blink an eye when I said I'd booked another night before AKL at POR this trip, just said, "Oh, good, thanks, hon."

??? But I'll take it!!

Ok, I am completely nuts now. Finally got upgrade to dlx sav for parents on our AKL conc portion Dec2-5th. We have GF RPC on the 5th but couldn't get it for the 6th (last night). I was perfectly happy with lodge tower but on a whim decided to call and see what other concierge might be available at ap rate. Well, guess what I got---drumroll---14th floor contemporary at an AP RATE!! BT, yes those pix are what did it. I know we are completely nuts for doing 3 resorts in 5 nights so I'll have to pack light. At least it will just be a short monorail hop and we already booked Chef Mickeys for that last night anyway. I don't think I'll tell my boys 6 and almost 3. They will be the most excited of us all!
Now, I need to go back and read up on the one deluxe I know nothing about. Here's hoping everyone gets the discounts they are still looking for: you never know when the magic will happen!

Debbie--so glad you get to go back. My dh wanted to wait until winter. I said we need to do the holidays (our 1st time) and by then our "infant" freebie will be 3 so think of all the money we're saving. At least until I went concierge crazy! My mom and sister are teachers so yes, you definitely need a break. In fact, my mom will be getting one day off to join us at the AKL portion of our trip. I'm sure she'll need the "magic" as the kids are driving her crazy just before break!

I'm so glad you got it! That's terrific. Send some of that discount PD my way, please! Still trying for our CL rooms at the AKL every day...half the time I call they can't find the ressies at all, every phone call is an hour or so...still, I'm not giving up...it seems to work out so often for so many!

3 resorts! More courage than I have! I'm sure the Contemporary will be fun for you and the boys.

Well, I've modified my ressie, AGAIN.
I still have GF-lagoon room booked for Oct.23, then I booked GF-Lodge concierge from Oct.24-28th, Then we're switching resorts-off to the Beach Club water view concierge from Oct.28th-Nov.1st. Am I out of my mind? I'm just going to keep calling and try and change my ressie for the first day so I don't have to change rooms 3 times. I'm persistant, so hopefully. Can anyone tell me if your resort will change over your luggage for you? I know you resort switching girls have done this before. We've always wanted to stay at the Beach Club, so we are excited and I think my kids will enjoy the pool. Any advice on the BC is welcome as I am a newbie to that one.

samnbilly...you will LOVE the BC CL! Hopefully, you'll get that wonderful room #5661~~~ The most perfect waterview concierge room. And it has 2 queens and a daybed.
FYI, there's about six rooms on that side that are a tad larger, wider...so they are the cream of the crop!
No worries about changing resorts!
Remember, you're talking to the gal that "sleeps around"! LOL!

#1HockeyMom, please take a word of advice from an old pro. I am heading to "my World" in 80+ days to celebrate my retirement after 34 years in front of elementary classrooms. I have to say, I learned more in my visits to WDW than I did in all the "professional development" meetings I ever attended. The lift you get is the lift you need to shoulder all the problems your students bring with them to class. Enjoy!! It's worth it. JJ
