Have you been "Bitten" by the Concierge "Bug"? aka The LIZARD LOUNGE!

Tammy - I agree with Elisabeth, it's normal (well, Disney normal anyway!) to start to question your choice! I don't care about the negative posts, I'm sticking with the Poly! There were the same kinds of posts right before our trip in April, we went anyway, and had a fantastic time!

Whatever you decide, I'm sure you'll have a wonderful trip!:teeth: ::yes::

I don't mean to be a downer but I had read all the glowing reviews of the Poly and was really looking forward to our trip. I know I'm one of those that posted the negative things about the Poly but I just posted the way it was and what happened to us. I won't be wasting my money the Poly concierge again, ever. I will however return to WDW and maybe try AKL, BWI or GF concierge and I'll definitely return to the YC concierge again and again. The Poly needs a serious update.

I wish I could help you, Tammy, but I had Poly GVC booked and finally kept feeling the AKL calling me home and switched! I am sure it is a great resort, and we love eating at Ohana's, but what is a mom to do when her baby ankole starts bleating her name? :)
Good luck with whatever you decide. Remember, you're going to Disney!

On another note, I finally saw the Fans Guide to WDW last night. All I can say is WOW! I think they finally made a good show about WDW that has some of the reasons why WE all love it so! I thought all of the families did a lovely job and their enthusiasm definitely spread to those watching!

Have a great Friday. I left out cinnamon crisps and drinks for everyone! *I have been craving those for two days now! Anyone have a clue what they are or where AKL gets them?*

Debbie <----off to hockey with the puppy in tow!

YC FAN - Oh, dear, I seem to always insult one person when trying to cheer up another!!:( I definitely did not have you in mind when I made the comment about negative posts - I read your trip report, enjoyed it very much, and felt sorry for your bad time at the Poly. Things went very wrong indeed for you, and I don't blame you for not thinking much of the Poly after your trip. We have always had a good time there, and expect to on our next trip in a week or so. We tried BC and did not love it like AKL or the Poly, nothing terribly wrong but just not WOWed!! I certainly don't expect everyone to have the same opinions as me, hope I didn't sound like it!

Debbie - I saw that show last night, too, Tivo'ed it and DD and I watched it again today!:p I agree, it was one of the better shows they've done on WDW!

Don't know where AKL gets those crisps, would love to know and to know how to make Zebra Domes - GLLLULLLULLLULL!(Homer moment!)

:teeth:

Tammy we're at the Poly right now and having a wonderful time. Yes, there were a couple of small kinks to work out, but that happens everywhere. We have had a great time reconnecting with our Poly family. We had an experience more along the lines of YCFAN's on our November trip, but we came back and we're glad.

What channels are these shows on (#)? I can't seem to find anything here.

mom_rules,

The Travel Channel airs lots of WDW specials, and they are a great way to pass the time between visits to the World. You can go to their website to see the upcoming shows: http://travel.discovery.com/schedule/schedule.jsp?dd=09&mm=08&yyyy=2004&channel=TRV. A few coming up that I know of are Great Hotels: Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts (Aug. 9 at 11:00 am) and Fan's Guide to WDW (Aug. 9 at 9pm and at midnight).

WHOO HOO! Got my ressie changed to AKL C with the e mail discount. It's not quite the whole stay. Had to book my arrival day 11/6 w/a pool view (no more rooms available with the discount) and then 11/7-11 AKL C.

Maybe when AP discounts come out can get all nights but staying one night in Pool view is fine. Won't need to unpack for a night and it does save $200! Hopefully, will be able to use the lounge first think the 7th even if bell services has to take the bags for the day.

DD will be thrilled. I need to look at my counter but should be able to get our ressies in for the Sunrise Safari. By the way, does anyone have the phone number for AKL Concierge or e mail. I just want to get that one ressie in.

It is busy around here, but wanted to post this for Hightown! Yeah on those reservations! You won't have a problem using the lounge for breakfast on the 7th so don't worry about that at all! (Just remember to recheck in so you have the right key for the elevator!)

This is a very interesting thread. We have never stayed at CL. Since we are DVC members, I think this might be an option for the nights we don't use DVC points.

I keep reading about the email discount codes. How did you all receive those? Is there a newsletter that I should subscribe to? We are premium annual passholders so I should be getting some emails from Disney.

Thanks so much.

We really enjoyed a little Disney fix by watching it as well. My only complaint is the Levy couple and their "hot tip" about Rose & Crown patio dining for Illuminations. Any TRUE BLUE Disney fan knows you will NOT be greeted with "absolutely. . .right this way", when you ask for a patio seat for Illuminations. C'mon guys, what is the line the CMs use when you ask for such seating. . ."We seat on a first available basis for your size party. We do not reserve patio seating." Within the past few years the CMs even refuse to permit you to "pass" on a table in order to get the desired seating.

I love these kinds of shows, but I don't think they give a very realistic picture of how the parks operate--only the most positive of experiences. I'd rather they not say something at all than to give someone false information.

BTW, I think someone else mentioned it earlier--these shows are also giving away our best secrets! :teeth:

Tess, I wasn't a huge fan of several of the Levy's segments myself. The Rose & Crown thing was definitely far-fetched. I also wondered if their ticket purchasing was staged. True blue Disney fans know about advance purchase savings on tickets, so I don't think they would be walking up to the ticket window at a park going, "What kind of ticket should we buy?" I think that part might've been staged though to show that park hopper days never expire. I loved the rest of the families though, especially the Murphy's and the Lloyd's. ::yes::

Hey everybody - I'm back from camping with the Cub Scouts (Webelos II for those in the know!).

Had a great time, weather was a bit hot and humid for the first few days, then beautiful the last half of the week.

I see there are several new "faces" around so.....

Welcome to the Lounge!

Hope everyone is doing well.

You lived through camp! WOO Hoo! Now you need a trip to Disney!

Tess and Elizabeth>> I am in total agreement on those particular segments! I did decide that they were staged for the unknowing public. ACK! They are giving away all of our secrets! Just as long as they don't mention DIS/mousesavers/allears by name and maybe we can keep some of our secrets?

Fat chance #1HM-- :) -- Disney give credit to the real folks who know more about Disney than they do! :earseek: I'm sure WDW doesn't want anyone to know there are websites other than the official one. If they did, how would they get people to pay rack? :scratchin

I'm with you Elizabeth, loved the Lloyds and Murphys although the three friends stayed at the best resort. ;)

I'm staying at the Boardwalk and Animal Kingdom lodge in Nov. Does anyone have the email addresses for the concierge at these resorts. I'd like to contact them and try to book some PS's and the sunrise safari. Thanks so much
