Thank you Hightown and Kerrycm. I am so excited about our trip. It started with me taking DH to the Contemporary 14th floor (a life long dream) from Nov 7-13th for his 40th bd. Then he surprised me by tacking on two nights before at BW and two nights after at AKL. So, we'll be there from 11/5-11/16. This is our first trip ever and three months out we are having trouble sleeping we are so excited.
Which is better Sunrise or Sunset Safari?

Am single mom so have only done sunrise w/DD10. There are folks here who have done both. I think sunset is adult only and ROMANTIC which might be just the thing! There are lots of kids on the sunrise--some who shouldn't be on it (too young, cranky, teething, need diaper changed, etc).

We loved it but the really bad thing is my camera broke on shot #1. So have new digital and I'm ready, I'm ready.

The good news is we came home to find...a postcard! Haven't gotten one in several years. Bad news is, our October dates weren't available for Poly concierge. Good news is...dtaes were available for December, so I booked it!

It's straight off to work for me this AM, but I wanted to leave out breakfast treats and welcome all the new faces to our excellent thread.

Today is my birthday, so I took off today to make a nice 3-day weekend. My husband and I are going to go see the Manchurian Candidate this afternoon, so that'll be fun.

I was so excited Friday to see a postcard in the mail BUT it was in my friend's (from FL) name at my address. She stayed with us at the Poly 2 years ago and I had made a reservation for her for Oct thinking I'd pay for it but my DH was afraid she'd be offended by it so I canceled before I paid the deposit. When I called to cancel they asked why and I said it was too expensive without a discount. So she's going to see if she can use it for Oct at a value resort. Anyways, its sort of comforting to know that I wouldn't have been able to use it for Poly concierge since our Oct dates overlap. I'm hoping for AP's but am 2nd guessing myself-thinking I should have booked a 7 for 5 deal. We'll be using the AP's again next fall and I've got AAA on the room now. But I still think 2 trips with 7 for 5 would have been cheaper. Congrats on your Dec dates!

Kerry-I'll be thinking of you tomorrow as you do your preop testing. I bet Madyson is adorable as Snow White!

Tammy-I'm another Poly fan here. I can't remember what your family is-kids? You really can't beat the Poly location with boat or monorail to MK and walk to TTC for direct monorail to Epcot. The pool is great too-especially for younger kids with the zero entry. Someday I want to try BWI and AKL as I've read such great things about CL there and I think when my kids are older they'd love YC/BC for SAB but for now Poly is best and I just LOVE the atmosphere with the view of castle, music and Tiki torches....I also read lots of negatives before my first trip there but stuck with it and fell in love.

Just wondering if any of you have stayed at the Grand Floridian lately in Sugar Loaf? I stayed at GF last year but we stayed in the RPC. I haven't stayed at Sugar Loaf since 1999. Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Okay, I switched from the Poly CGV to a standard room at the AKL. I have always wanted to staythere, more so than the Poly. I will pay for any upgrades if available when we get there. We will stay at the Poly on our next quickie trip. I also seriously considered staying at POFQ, but went with AKL. I know we are going to love it.

It will be me and my 18year old son for almost a week, at which time my mom, 2 sisters and my very young nephews will be joining us at the Pop Century. We are so excited, I cannot wait to see my nephews little faces light up with the magic of Disney. They are 18 months and 6 months old. As a matter of fact, the 18 month old has already been to Disney twice. We must be raising him up right. LOL!!!!

Tammy-I'm sure you'll love AKL. I have a PS for Boma so we can check out the resort. I'm thinking my kids will be easier to handle on the bus at 6, 4 1/2, and 2 1/2 then they will be this year. How fun that you get to experience Disney with your nephews (and DS, Mom and sisters)! You'll have a blast! And talk about counter envy-17 days-WOW! I can't believe I'm under 75 days. I still can't believe I convinced DH to go this year.

lovesdumbo and GoofyJoofy Thank you for the well wishes. I have put all my tests off until wednesday beacuse I wanted to work one last shift at the store. It will probably be my last one as a cast member as I hear the store will be sold before I return from my 12 weeks of recuperation. Surgery is next wednesday the 18th and I am beginning to get nervous, but will make it through.
Anyone have any idea when BT will be back? I can't wait to hear from her.

Thanks for all the "welcome homes" everybody. I will post a full trip report in a couple of days, but here's a little teaser:
It was our best trip ever, and I owe it all to the things I learned on this thread (including the fine art of being nice!). The Poly still has an issue or two, but it's really with a cast member here and there, not an overall problem I think. We spent very little time in the parks, met some wonderful people (incl. Stan, our monorail man, who we can now call a friend), and could hardly bear to leave. We have 2 more trips planned, one Oct. 19-26 - hopefully we will meet lovesdumbo on that one - and Dec. 8-11 with our nephew, younger brother to the niece we took earlier this year. Looks like we'll just miss Elisabeth on that one.

BT worked on convincing my DH to try a few different resorts. She's probably the only woman I'd allow to encourage my DH to sleep around!

Prayers and PD for you, KerryCM; you have a wonderful outlook my dear, and I know things will work out. We need you to be whole and healthy in May for the Mega-Lizard meet!

As for the postcard, don't know why we got one after 4 years without - this one came in my husband's name, though they changed his first name to "Keith" and mangled his surname. Perhaps this is the phantom Keith who keeps appearing in our file!

I need to hear whre you ate! I love hearing about the different restaurants people eat at. I am trying to eat at different places each trip. The only problem is my husband is a creature of habit and doesn't like to try too many new places. When I go with the girls in March we eat somewhere different each trip.
