Yes! I've been very busy! HUGE, huge fashion show for a hospital fundraiser this Saturday morning!:earseek:
So, it' been hectic for me...plus,I'm still "tweeking" with this next trip!;)

Woody... So nice to see you and your little man continues to be in our thoughts and prayers!
::yes::

Talked to steveanddonna yesterday also! What a sweetie, too! Can NOT wait to meet her, Steve and cajunfan in a couple of weeks!
Yippee!

mmausse...you poor dear!:( and lots of healing pixie dust, prayers your way also! Praying for a successful surgery!
Kerry....hope all is going well with you!

the easiest way to get those pics loaded on a website for others to view.....hint! hint!;) is to put them on a CD.
Kodak has the easiest webpage also!

Thanks for the dessert offerings!
I need a good ol' caffeine and sugar rush to get me going! LOL!

hockeymom...are you packed yet, my dear?:teeth:

Wow, it was a Lizard Bonanza for me yesterday! Spoke with both WoodysRU AND BambiTamby!
Thank you for the lovely compliments:blush: You are absolute sweethearts, both of you - I so enjoyed putting voices with the screen names and can't wait to meet you both. BT you are just a bundle of energy - you put us all to shame! If there were an award for kindest, most helpful thread on a bulletin board this thread would win hands down.

Still waiting to hear from IPO - have e-mailed and left voicemails. It won't be the end of the world if we don't get PS's for various things; I know the CL CMs can help us out once we're there. I've just gotten so spoiled by their usual level of service this has been a little disappointing. How awful am I - waiting 'til the last minute then expecting immediate attention! I'm turning into the ugly American and I'm not even visiting a foreign country!

Are you packing yet, #1hockeyMom ? (Notice I didn't say packed) I will actually have the whole weekend before our trip as well as my first 2 vacation days to get it together - this will truly be a luxury for me!

Donna-IPO called me a week or so ago but I wasn't here so they left a message asking if they could do anything for me. They also sent me the form. I sent them a fax so I could put my PS requests in a nice table and asked them to call me so I could discuss it with them but I'm still waiting. I think I'll start calling. I'll let you know what happens. I'm approaching my 90 day window.

Okay all of this talk about AKL over the years has made me want to try AKL Concierge. Last year we did GF Main Bldg. I was initially thinking Contemporary since we've never stayed there and we've done Polynesian a few times (however not concierge). Here is my question - it's a "am I nuts" one.

We need a vacation so I just made reservations for AKL the end of August. I used AZS (the August code) since no AP available and AAA is less than that one. Basic question - is it worth it? Savings is I think approx. 420. but I only do last minute when it's not a real cost to us. Should I just wait to go when I can get a better deal?

Sorry, can't answer your question.

I was wondering if there way anyone who could answer my previous questions about the CL list for BWI? (like the one for Poly in an earlier posting)

Thanks guys, I knew that I could count on you. I am computer, camera and just about anything else, challenged but hopefully I can figure how to load them on a webpage.

:earseek: :earseek:

Am I packed? Am I packing? BWaahahahaha umm no, sorry, no packing here! We have to get through DD's graduation party on Saturday, then the suitcases will be put out! I did check out my Disney bag the other day and double checked our AP's while I added her seven day park hopper to it and I counted my vouchers and what types I still had. I know the location of our "hats", the autograph books, and Pal Mickey.

Bella2000 >> Worth it of course is completely subjective. I would add that having a nice cool dark lobby is SOOO nice to come back to when its hot and sticky out! The lounge is a great oasis of cool and calmness after or before a day in the parks! I tried to branch out, I really did! I just tell myself that I found the best the first time around! (although I will try to branch out again, and GF main building is on the list, though it seems to be years$ on the list)

So good to hear from Woody and BT!

Have to run.. DD here!

What is your nightly rate? Will you be spending most of the day at the resort or the parks? We will be staying AKL CL in August and plan to spend a good portion of the day at the resort so it seems worth it to us. I had originally booked using AAA but when the august code came out rebooked with that as it was a few dollars less.

Just had to share that -BECAUSE OF KERRYCM 'S post about "Bubbles" the Build-A-Bear Ariel - I ordered my DD(7) the Snow White costume and "ruby slippers" off the B-A-B site. They just arrived and my daughter was squealing in delight!!
The Snow White costume will be waiting for her in our room at BWI:crazy:

I used AZS. It's 390.28. We'll be back in there in Dec so I was thinking hotel things and other items. I wanted to do the Sunrise Safari but other than that nothing really.

We used AZR code and received the same rate as you (which was a few dollars less than when I originally booked with the AAA rate).

Since it's our first time staying there, I'm not sure if you could get a much better rate at other times of the year as August is considered "value" season. As long as you'll be at the resort most of the time, seems worth it. I did it mainly because I wanted to book the sunrise safari.

Have a great trip.

Thanks to all for your kind thoughts, P, PD, & Hugs!! The latter I could REALLY use today. Just got home from a GRUELING 15 hour day at the office - I know everyone wishes me well but need to do everything before I go under the knife (or in my case under the laser). Spent the entire day trying to de-bug a program - finally got it done :Pinkbounc :bounce: . Now I'm REALLLY looking forward to surgery because I know I'll be asleep - good quality sleep. Ok so the wake up part won't be any fun, but.....

I have my laptop next to the bed, my phone, the remote, & my Disney brochures. What more could a girl want.....

:Pinkbounc princess:

Hi everyone
BAMBITAMBY thanks for highlighting me in the lounge....since this will be my first lounge experience.....

How about everyone tell me about their favorite CL experience, I will be at the Poly, but any CL talk will do.

It will be exciting to hear everyone else's great stories!!!

Tinkerbella (Michele)

Good Morning All!:wave2:

Mmausse...good luck with the surgery...P7PD coming your way. You sound like you are set up for a fantastic recovery though!

SteveandDonna....I sent you a pm yesterday, but when I sent it, I got a message stating that the server was busy. Let me know if you did not get it.

Two weeks from now, I will be in the airport waiting to go to Disney....but I have to get through Cub Scout Camp residence camp next week first....I keep telling myself .....I love my child, I love my child:teeth: ! (Since talking him out of it didn't work, I will make the best of being in the middle of nowhere for a few days:rolleyes: )

I will leave out the morning goodies for all!

Have a great day!

Lynn

I have been perusing this thread for some time now, as my family and I will be staying concierge for the first time this October at AKL. As I have never stayed concierge before, I was very interested in all of the concierge advice, trip reports and pictures all of you concierge veterans had to offer. However, I didn't feel that I had any opinion to offer yet regarding concierge.

Well that now has changed. Even though we have 94 days before arriving at AKL and experiencing concierge first-hand, I am already so impressed with the service! Andrea and Don at AKL concierge have been superb with their assistance regarding questions and PS requests. They have gone out of their way to not only answer my questions, but also personalize each response with friendly dialogue regarding my children and Wegmans(our local grocery chain here is Rochester:). I can't wait to meet them. If the service we have received thus far is representative of the service we will receive at AKL, my family and I are in for a very magical trip.

Thanks for all of the great information on concierge and keep it coming; it helps to build the excitment for our upcoming trip.

Best of luck with all of your trips; may they be magical!

mmausse, WoodysRU, k&a&c'smom & anyone else I may have forgotten - Plenty of prayers, PD and

akghutton - Welcome to the Lounge. Hang out here long enough you too will be bitten, and become a Lizard!

tinkerbella22 - I have not been to Disney yet, but as akghutton has said, the concierge experience begins long before you get there.

Lynn - That is so funny. I am a Webelos leader and I will be taking (along with 3 other leaders) eight (9 & 10 year old) boys to Cub Scout Camp 8/1 - 8/6. I am actually looking forward to being in the woods, sleeping in a tent and relaxing. Hope your experience is not too bad. And yes the kids LOVE it!

All - My experience with concierge so far has been wonderful. It has been said before, but bears repeating. The IPO staff at BC contacted me before my 90 day mark. We discussed various ideas from pre-arranged gifts in the room, to PS ressies, and other things to do besides the parks. After several back and forth emails, Alana convinced me my DDs (11 & 13) were NOT too old for CRT character breakfast, so we booked it. Got the date and time we wanted. Since our ressie is before the park opens, I was given some advice on how to make sure we get there early enough.

When my DSIL (who lives in South FL) managed to get an extra day off and wanted to come visit with us at WDW, we had to change a number of our PS. I was on the phone with Amy who quickly re-arranged like 4 PS. Again we got the days and times we wanted.

And if that is not enough, each time I call or email, their friendliness and cheerfulness just come through and brighten my day with a bit of pixie dust and joy.

Hey GoofyJoofy...want to come down to Nashville and take my group camping:p ?

I too am a Weebelos leader (II)....I imagine going in MASS. in Aug is a whole lot better than TN in late July...but it is the only option as it is the last camp of the summer here and we have one boy is is out of town until then. You are a much better soul than I to take that many boys with only three leaders. We only have 5 (I&II) and all will have an adult with them....Last year brought two by themselves, and we stayed up half the night because they were afraid that the racoons were goning to come in the tents after them! It just dawned on me...you have girls right?...and you are a Scout leader?...you sure we can't talk you into moving to TN?:teeth: (We love to camp, just not residence camp here because it is soooo hot and we have to sleep in canvas army tents, so lots of bugs....but thank God for battery operated fans!!!)

I am glad you are having such a good experience with the planning phase of your CL experience. I can't wait to be there. Ten glorious nights!!!!

Lynn

I give all of you credit for doing the camping thing with a bunch of kids! I can teach them in a classroom, I can do hockey tournaments in a hotel room, but I can't imagine camping in a tent! I thought roughing it was when we didn't have the electrical hookup in our camper/trailer so the microwave wouldn't work! (the battery wouldn't power up the microwave!)

Well, I called Disney, then the Dolphin to make sure all of our reservations were in place. Next is the call to happy limo.... we're going to Disney! I can't believe how quick my counter seems to be going! I had a great lady when I called Disney who seemed as excited as I was over my vacation plans!

AKGhutton>> You're going to love AKL concierge! If you've been reading this thread you'll realize it is my "home". I am so looking forward to going back! Happy planning, and think about the adding the sunrise and/or sunset safari trips to your visit!

P and PD for those that need them!
Debbie

Hi all ... heard from BT ...she said that she would be back on the boards either Sat. night or Sunday...after her big show.

Have a good afternoon!

Good Afternoon everyone!

#1HM have you used Happy Limo before? Would you recommend them? I think all 7 of us will be on the same flight this year, Carri works for Delta and will be flying stanby alnog with her parents and Jimmy and Madyson. they all have flight cards. I hate going that way, just want to know I am getting there! Anyway, it looks like the flights we will be taking out of PVD will have enough room for them to get on. I suggested a limo for the trip to the BWI and everyone agrees. Any input you could give me would be great.

To all of you campers, have fun. I was a Girls Scout Leader for many years and took many camping trips. It was a lot of work but so much fun.

mom_rules The food offerings at the BWI are wonderful. Breakfast is my favorite because of the chocolate croissants, they are so yummy!!!!:) In the evening the hot offerings will come either Spoodles or the Flying Fish. There will ba a small card letting you know what they are and where they are from. We enjoy the evening desserts. They have chocolate covered strawberries, delicious little fruit tarts, little cakes and yummy chocolte things that were like truffles and cake.

I am getting hungry thinking about all the yummy food.
To all of you leaving soon, have a happy and safe trip. Come back full of details, especially where you ate:Pinkbounc

mmausse and woody P&PD sent your way! I am thinking of both of you.
