Well since it is Carri's parents' first trip I am going to have a welcome basket of goodies for them. Alana will shop for me, I love that part! I want them to have t-shirts and each a hat. They will also have a few other things. I will also have the gold dusted chocolate Mickey with tuxedo chocolate covered strawberries for them. I got the Mickey for one of my friends in March and it was beautiful. it comes in a nice commemorative box.
Madyson will have a Princess blanket with her name monogramed on it. I also want to get her a couple hats. She loves hats!! Hopefully they will have some JoJo Circus things, otherwise I will get them at the Disney Store and ship them down for her.
It is Carri's birthday and Jimmy and Carri's anniversay so I need to come up with things there too. I am going to have a gift basket made up from the Bath shop. She loves the bath bombs. I think we will give them Disney$s for their anniversary dinner.
I love having little surprises for everyone. I did it in March for my friends for all of their help and support after my heart surgery in Dec. It was the best feeling seeing their faces when they walked in the rooms at night. I am like a little kid when it comes to that stuff. I have great friends and a wonderful family, so it makes it worthwhile planning the surprises.

Kerry - So glad you are having a fine day. :sunny:
It is very cloudy here in western MA. :(

Almost at 90 days, isn't it so exciting?:bounce:

I second the opinion - do tell Kerry, we all need to live vicariously.

Kerry - We posted at about the same time. I just read your post. What you are doing sounds so sweet and generous, a true Disney magic spirit.

Kerry...ITA and we are all "cut" from that same cloth!
And what fabulous gift ideas you've thought of!

methinks GoofyJoofy is keeping notes of all of this for spoiling his gals!;) So sweet and romantic!::yes::

Alana is so wonderful, as well as Lauren...talked to both today and even got a b-day Illuminations cruise booked for our All-Girl Party.

I just might as well just come out and say it.....

I've changed my reservation, AGAIN!

Got BC CL waterview with AP rate.....mom hasn't stayed at the YC/BC, so this will be something new and different for her!

Guess I'm going to give up my Poly GVC for the next trip, except I'd rather have LVC !
Oh, heck! Who am I fooling?.......a Poly suite!:teeth:

stevanddonna...thanks for the morning offerings.:wave2:

And, I've PMd you and cajunfan with a mini-meet update.

Plenty of drinks, hot wings, cheeses, crackers, spring rolls, and brownies for everyone!

I'll be in the " back" cleaning the cappucino machine, for our late-night lattes!

GoofyJoofy :I guess we were wrting at the same time!:rotfl: You must be getting excited about your trip. I can't wait for everyone to get back and tell us all about their trips. I especially love hearing about the meals:hyper: I am hoping to have a dessert party at Epcot one night, but am not sure what the budget is going to be!!!
I am doing my entire downstairs over and I keep adding things on there:bounce: My poor husband just nods his head and says :whatever you want dear", what a guy. My kitchen is almost done. The tile backsplash gets put in tomorrow, hardwood flooring throughout the downstairs on wednesday and finally the appliances on Thursday. My new staircase will go in next week. Then the painters descend on us.
I will take pictures and post them when all is done. We will do the upstairs next Spring. We were going to build anew , smaller house, but figured we like our neighborhood so we may as well stay here. We built this one 15 years ago so it needed so updating.
Well off to work those numbers for my own surprise!!!!!!!:jumping1:

Kerry>> Those ideas sound so loving and heartwarming! I couldn't stop smiling while reading them! What a great MIL/inlaw/Mom/Grandma you are! *not to mention a great lounge lizard/friend!

My counter is getting closer and havoc is beginning to break lose! DD's graduation party is this Saturday, with the four of us leaving next week Tuesday! ACK! I think I can tackle the food/beverage/party supply buying... but when do I get my hair and nails done! ACK! Any way about it, it will be an exciting two weeks of party planning, party, and DISNEY!

Big wave to everyone, I sprinkled the room with lots of pixie dust when I walked in so take a handful and see what magic it will produce and prayers it may answer!

Debbie

GoofyJoofy You are doing thespa treatments for your "girls" aren't you? Well, the GF spa has wonderful products that I bet you could get a gift basket made up. I do like the items from the bath store better though.
I get a massage at the BWI health club every trip. I love it. My husband even had one, a gift for our 30th anniversary 2 years ago. he really enjoyed it. It was the first time he had one.

I did forget to mention I am going to have the Cinderelaa's slipper for both Faye and Carri when we go to tea for their birthdays.:bounce:

Ok, back to more planning and number crunching!!!!!:Pinkbounc

Me thinks Bambi really IS a mind reader, or am I just that obvious? ;)

Hey Bambi just tack on a few more days or so, and we'll bump into each other at BC CL. Would love to treat you to a coffee or wine :wave2:

Kerry - Yes we are thinking of giving the girls the My First Facial at the GF during our Dec trip, if we can fit it in.

I never heard of the Bath store. What and where is it? And yes right after I read your post, I started researching the Tuxedo chocolate strawberries and Gold dusted chocolate Mickey. Might be a real treat to come back to the room and "find".

GoofyJoofy The bath store is located at Downtown Disney. I never can remember the name of it. Anyway, they have wonderful things there. the bathbombs are the best. I also like the soaps and shampoo bars. Your planning office will put together something really nice got you. Last year, they worked with WDW Florists and created beautiful gift baskets for me. So worth the price. I still have a coupke of the Micket head baskets!
If you go to the menus on deb Wills site it desribes the Mickey under the BC room service. This is how I ordered it at the BWI.

Oooh, I feel so at home with you LLs:teeth: ...

I FEEL THE EXACT SAME WAY!! I sure hope I'm not jinxing anything by mentioning my plans but Alana is helping me with the following, to be in the room when we check in:
~For DD(7): Snow White costume, Snow White wig:rolleyes:, BWI pin and chocolates;
~For DN(5)*whose 6th bday it will be the day we check in: Cinderella costume, long Cinderella gloves, BWI pin and chocolates;
(The girls have been eagerly discussing which costumes they'd like to be able to get this trip, so I KNOW they're going to be thrilled princess: princess: .)
:wave::thewave: :thewave:
I am so excited - it MAKES the trip for me! My parents especially were floored by this when we stayed at AKL CL last year - had a AKL T-shirt and Disney Dollars for my dad (he LOVES to shop::yes:: ) and a certificate for a massage for my mom and TONS of goodies for DD (like Lion King DVD which had JUST been released, Safari Minnie, coloring book, pens, AKL pin, etc.) It was very exciting for everyone and my mom cried:lovestruc :cloud9:

Anyway, just wanted to share my plans for two very sweet little girls...and to let those of you who've never had something "extra" like this planned, it is very special:teeth:

I know, I know, I have been remiss in NOT logging on before now, and I apologize. You all are such GREAT people, but I need your PD and prayers now. My knee has worsened considerably and they have moved up my surgery to this Friday (it was supposed to be the end of the month). It's a bittersweet ordeal - I hope this stops the pain but a hospital isn't a safe place for me because I'm SO allergic to SOO many different meds. Please think kind thoughts to all the Mickey angels. Thanks.:scared1: :sad2: At least AFTER the surgery I can catch up on my reading with all the posts and seeing BT's fabulous pictures and wishing I could go back to BWI and see Jackie & Robin and the gang. Oh well, maybe next year.

I believe the bath shop is called Basin. I discovered it on our honeymoon, and they really have some great stuff! I believe they have a website (it's actually a chain store) www.basin.com where you can see a very small sampling of their products. :)

mmausse, you are in my prayers. I will pray that your knee surgery will be a complete success and that you will not have ANY med problems.

Hello, everyone. I apologize for not keeping up with this thread. Pixie Dust goes out to everyone in need. And good wishes go out to those of you who are heading to WDW soon.

By the way, BambiTamby; I found the photos of your dessert party the other day. My, my, my! What a GOOD-LOOKING group of guests you had (and the food didn't look too bad, either)!! It looked like such a ~magical~ event. Thank you for sharing your photos.

I just popped in to say that over the weekend, I posted about the Family Magic Tour that Floridafam treated my family to. The tour was wonderful and my family had the best time. We will forever be grateful to Floridafam and her family for sharing the tour with us. Click here for the link to my write-up (page 9) -- just look for the post entitled, "Day 2: Grand Floridian (Part 2)."

If anyone needs me, please feel free to PM me. I just can't keep up with the Dis lately and it's breaking my heart (too many things going on, arg!).

mmausse Lots of PD and prayers for you as your surgery nears. I am sure things will be fine. I will be thinking about you.

ead That's it!!:bounce: I don't know wht I can never remember the name. I love that store. Thanks.

johnsonet What great gift ideas. I think Alana is going to be very busy shopping for everyone! My daughter-in-law, Carri, said "you never do anything for yourself, just everyone else." I tell her the joy I get out of doing is my joy and excitement! It is so much fun.

Cloudy and rainy today. Madyson and I will be playing dressup inside. I have to go over to their house since there will be too much construction going on today. Also I return to work today at the Disey Store. I have been out a month and I miss it so much. I can't wait to go and see the new things I can buy for my grandchildren!!!!!!

Have a great day everyone:wave:

princess: I want to get this too!~ Would this be available at the GF? Maybe I could have it delivered to the room our first night - soooo festive:flower1:
On allearsnet.com I don't see any of the "hospitality" offerings that the BWI and YC/BC menus show but surely they're available at the GF...can anybody tell me for sure? Thanks!

Hi everyone,

I posted earlier, but reading I should have posted here. Going to the Poly for the fourth time. Never been concierge. Considering it. The ONLY thing holding me back is the location of the Hawaii building. Is it really far from the Great Ceremonial HOuse or not. I usually stay in a building right next to the GC house and the bus stop. I have a great deal. I can upgrade to concierge for 7 nights for only 395 dollars more. It is in no way the money.....it is the building...help me you lounge lizards!!! :Pinkbounc
Michele

The Hawaii building is the primo location of all buildings at Polynesian, IMHO. It is a quick, short walk to GCH, from the front door of Hawaii and a quick stroll around the quiet pool to the bus stop. I'd say 1-2 minutes, tops. If it's raining, dodge the drops by walking through the buildings. The location to both pools is great and you're close to the boat launch too. The walk to TTC is only 3-5 minutes and then, there's the view from the lounge. :hyper:

If money isn't an issue--the building location certainly isn't one either. Have fun at Polynesian and enjoy Hawaii!

I DID it!!!! Can't believe!!! It is official I am upgraded to concierge at the Poly for a week in August. :Pinkbounc I am so excited!!! Until then I will be reading all of these great posts from all you experienced lounge lizards!! When I return I no doubt will be addicted to concierge....I can not wait!!!!

for those of you in the know.....
I got my letter from the IPO at WL Concierge. I am in the process of filling it out (only a year in advance but hey the early bird gets the worm) but I have a question. It asks me to list what rest. I want with a date and time. Fine. BUT.... what if I want a difficult ressie (CRT) that is only avail on a day I have listed something else. Will they work it all in or do they go strictly by what I put down? Confused? I am.

Just trying to sort it all out.
Putting out morning coffee and goodies.......

Kalen

Thanks for the morning treats Kalen! I usually deal with IPO via e-mail; that way I can specifiy that my preferred date/time is not written in stone and that I'd be willing to move things around to accommodate a tough-to-get ressie. You could probably just note that on your itinerary planner, though. The other reason I like e-mailing is that it helps you develop a relationship with the planners and they can make suggestions you wouldn't have thought of once they get a feel for your likes and needs.

Tinkerbella22 - I never got to respond to your last post, but you will not regret your decision! Not only is the Poly the best situated resort, IMHO, but Hawaii is the best location at the Poly. Plus, you'll find yourself walking over to GCH much less since you'll have snacks and coffee right in the lounge, plus all the wonderful CMs at CL to help you out. Welcome to the world of concierge!

BT - PM'd you with my "feedback," such as it is! I cannot explain why my brain has ceased functioning. Can't even blame it on menopause - I'm years away from that yet!

Prayers & PD for mmause and everyone else needing them.
