For those of you that enjoy suites (or sweets in your suites :rotfl: as I read about the deserts Bambi and VAgal will have on the Grand1) :boat:

Just got the Disney Cruise info DVD. We all are now dreaming of the 1 bedroom suite. To check it out go to

Disney Cruise Line

Then click the 360 views and more. Select the 1 bedroom suite with verandah, in the small window that pops up. This room comes with CL, so you get it all :jumping1:

Ooh so many resorts, so many suites....

I called IPO back and cancelled the previous desserts! I emailed the pics of Janet's party and simply said "This is what we want!" for our G1 cruise! (slippers, mickey bombs, parfaits, dirt pots, mickey jello with whipped cream, plus the ice cream, drinks and beer!):goodvibes

Oh, BambiTamby, you have no idea how hard you have me laughing! You are too funny! But I now understand why Disney asked me to keep mum for a little while about my Disney Studios “Haunted Mansion” Movie Set Dinner Event last Fall (they needed time to decide if they were going to offer it as a book-able event to other interested parties). And when they finally gave me the go-ahead to talk about it, they requested that I send them a copy of whatever I posted. They explained that if they knew exactly what I described in regards to my Disney Studios event, they would know exactly how to handle any inquiries that they might receive. I completely understood their reasoning and was happy to comply with their request. After seeing that you just sent a note and photos to the GF’s IPO and mentioned the desserts at my Summerhouse dinner party, I’d have to say that Disney certainly understands their customer base, don’t they?! ;) (Please note that Disney did not ask me to keep quiet about the Summerhouse dinner event -- you can ask me any question about it that you'd like except for pricing -- I'd hate for Floridafam and Bonzie1 to know what the dinner cost.)

Please let me know if the IPO complies with your new dessert request. And also let me know if you need further info about the desserts. I’ll try to dig up my Summerhouse dinner proposal and find the names of a few of those desserts for you.

Word of warning on the desserts. My DS had some jello, a Cinderella's slipper and a bite of something else. It was as if he had been hooked up to a sugar I.V. He was a "motormouth." My husband and I could not stop laughing. The poor thing didn't know what hit him.

Floridafam's son was a hoot! Everyone enjoyed his energy at the dessert party -- I had tears in my eyes at one point because he was just so darn cute & funny. What a doll he was (and his adorably sweet sister, too). My daughter sat there enthralled when he was talking -- I wish I had a picture of the expression on her face as she listened to him. By the way, please look at this picture of Floridafam's son and daughter (my daughter is on the left) -- click here. Life just does not get any better than that, I tell you. That one photo says it all. The kids truly had a wonderful time at the dinner party (desserts & all).

Then your son must be a doll just like you are. I hope I get to meet your whole family one day, BambiTamby.

I feel a little strange reporting on the BBQ. It was Janet's event and I don't want to take anything away from her. She said it was okay to describe it as we experienced it.

I'm really enjoying Floridafam's take on the dinner & dessert parties (thanks, Floridafam, for describing them). I promise that I'll get around to a trip report soon. In it I'll mention some of the planning that went into the dinner party -- I will describe a little bit about what was presented to me by Disney and what I changed and why. I will also try to add more photos and captions soon to my on-line photo album. Towards the end of my vacation I even took some photos in the daylight of the dessert party area so that everyone could get an idea of what that area looks like (it's impossible to tell in the nighttime photos).

I’ve added a few more photos to my on-line photo album. If you view it, you will see photos of the children finding the treasure map, and you will also see the children leading us to the “secret” location that had been marked by “X” on the treasure map.

I’ve also added a few fireworks photos to the album. The Grand Floridian’s marina was an incredible location from which to watch the Magic Kingdom’s Wishes™ Nighttime Spectacular fireworks show. I’m so glad that my Grand Floridian Convention Services Cast Member suggested this location to me. It really was the perfect way to end the perfect evening with friends, both old and new. And the fact that Disney specially piped in the music from the fireworks show to the dessert party location was just icing on the cake. I had never heard the soundtrack for the fireworks show before. I had goose bumps as I stood there watching the dazzling show from across Seven Seas Lagoon. Believe it or not, I did not know that Disney was going to do this for me – it was quite a surprise. I guess everyone had a surprise that night, including me. I will forever be grateful to the many Disney Cast Members who put together a night to remember.

teentoddlermom -- the guide is written by Bob Sehlinger. I don't agree with him on his ratings of the various attractions, but he gives very good detailed descriptions of all the rides at Universal/IoA (also all the attractions at WDW)....

GoofyJoofy -- if you decide to cruise in a DCL one bedroom suite (category 3), be sure to request 8032,8034, 8532 or 8534...
the configuration of those four staterooms is much better than any of the other cat 3 staterooms.....they are actually quite a bit bigger than the other one bedroom suites....
We're sailing next month in the Walt Disney Suite..... It's a 2 bedroom suite with a dining room, living room, library, pantry and baby grand piano....it's one of the two category one staterooms on the ship (the other is the Roy Disney Suite)...
that suite has been calling to me since i wasn't able to get it on our first cruise and had to "settle" for the one bedroom (8534)....
which was indeed beautiful...

ROTFL :rotfl: !!!

Don't worry BT, I'm quite chatty myself. :chat: :teeth: Those desserts look soooo yummy. My tummy is growling. I won't eat too much dinner so I can enjoy them and the sugar high that comes along with it. ;)

I'm so excited :goodvibes! Not too much longer.....

Janet, your pictures are just beautiful! Thanks for sharing!

Looks like a great evening.

Janet2K - Your photo album is just beautiful, it's obvious all your guests had a fantastic time!::yes:: I'm sure all the kids' eyes bugged out when Mickey boated up!:earseek: How adorable those kids are, too! And, floridafam I'm really enjoying your descriptions of the evening!! I don't think anyone feels your reports are "taking away" from Janet's, complementing them rather!

Beth....that UG by Bob can be a little harsh on some things, especially dining. But, he's usually very accurate on attractions.
goooood night time reading!

And the Walt suite on the cruise? how fantastic!!!!
Sooo exicted for you! what a treat!

Ok...now it gets serious...

Woody...still needs ALOT of prayers gang! She is...in her words....."NOT OUT OF THE WOODS!"

Please.....she needs special, special prayers from us. She has another doctor's appointment on Monday.

Let me tell you, my prayers are with you. I have been wondering how you and your family have been coping. Hope all goes well for you!!

Floridafam-- I really have enjoyed your perspective on Janet2ks
bbq. Between the two of you, we can really see how special the event was!! You all were able to witness a level of DISNEY magic that most of us can only dream about! Thank you for sharing that with us, and letting us live vicariously through you!!
Great writing!!

Woody, my prayers remain with you and your family. We are here for you if you need a shoulder.

Okay, need some input. Have four nights booked at AKL CL but have been debating for the past couple weeks about upgrading to the one bedroom suite.

We'll be at the parks for two days but do plan to spend a couple afternoons enjoying the resort although I'm thinking if we're in the room, we'd be out on the balcony enjoying the savannah.

So what to do, what to do? Those that have done rooms and then suites, any thoughts?

GOOD AFTERNOON LIZARDS!

Woody-- My continued prayers are with you! Hang in there!

Guess what I just got in the mail today??? Cards for my kids: DD received one from Cinderella and DS received one from Mickey and the gang. I had asked Concierge if they would send "invitations" to the kids for our upcoming trip... they said they would work on it.

Well, I got them... they are great! DS's has all the signatures on the picture from Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Pluto...and DD's has Cinderella... both have personal notes inviting them to come to Disney in October!

Oh, that Disney magic!!!! :earsgirl:

Woody-you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. May you find the strength you need to get through this most difficult time.

annamonte- what a neat thing for your children to get...a personal invitation to Disney World. Darnit! Wish I would've thought of something like that lol.

BT and VAgal...your trip sounds like it's going to be just lovely. ::yes:: I am already looking forward to hearing all the details.

Ohhhh, Woody I'm so sorry for your pain, and I will be sending positive thoughts to you for a good report on Monday. Hang in there, kiddo, we're all thinking of you!

PRaffen - That 1-BR suite was calling my name in April, too!;) I very nearly booked it, but decided to save the money for our summer trip!:rolleyes1 I have not done any of the suites, yet, but I have a feeling it will get me in the end! The suites at AKL look gorgeous, if I were you, I think I'd have to book it!:teeth:

annamonte - that is just the cutest thing ever!::yes:: I bet your kids are bowled over!

Woody~ You continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

I was searching the web this am, buying more "stuff" for our upcoming trip (Some Teva's, Paul Frank Dr. Scholl's for DD...Just TOO Cute, and other things...:teeth: ) when I came across this book. Since I just received my DELUXE ed. of the Passporter, and the '04 BB's, as well as the Official Disney Cruise guide...I was pondering purchasing this too. The description sounds wonderful, and possibly should be placed permanently on the coffee table in the center of the LOUNGE!! Please, let me know if any of you have read this guide. TIA!!
