Have you been "Bitten" by the Concierge "Bug"? aka The LIZARD LOUNGE!

Welcome, dotterson! Glad you came!

There are an abundance of opinions on this thread :teeth:. Most everyone has a resort they call "home." Do you want to definitely stay at Poly or GF or have you considered other resorts? I'm no expert, but others will be along to help out more on the pros and cons. My feeling is try something different especially since you've been to the Poly and will be staying at GF in 2006. If you want something totally and completely different then I would consider AKL. AKL CL is a personal favorite for many on this thread. BWI - well, they love the feeling the CMs radiate & the gardens there are just beautiful. So many decisions! ;) I think I've complicated things rather than help out. Do you want to stay in MK/Epcot area? What interests your DD?

Have a wonderful trip, Tess!!! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

BTW, what are you doing up?! Shouldn't you be getting your rest? (Said in my best Mama tone!;) )

Guiness? Which CL's have Guiness-count us in!!

Yes, we definitely want to stay on the MK tram line for the first few days. I was actually thinking of EARLY AM at MK Sun., and then maybe not even going to a park on Mon. doing a sail or mouse boat, go to Downtown Disney to shop and move to the Beach Club.

Tues. go to MGM early.

We're not too interested in AK (was there a few years ago), so AKL Concierge isn't on the list. The Wilderness didn't float our boat either.

Having the DVC points (lots) allows us to be flexible, tho we love Stormalong. My DD is pretty open to anything.

Thanks! Keep the opinions coming!

d:teeth:

Dotterson - Does CR interest you? It's a monorail resort and easy access to MK with just a ride to Epcot. Possibly split stay between CR & YC or CR & BWI? If not CR, my vote is kind of tied between Poly & GF. I think I would jump on GF if it wasn't definite that you would be staying there in 2006. Ooohhhh, so many choices and combinations - :D.

Mornin' Lizards,

Janet your pictures are very beautiful. What a magical night. Thanks so much for sharing.

Janet-GREAT photos. Looks like it was a lot of fun! Do the chocolate Mickeys on the tray with Cinderella's slipper have a name? It looked like you had plenty of desserts for your guests! YUM! We will be celebrating our 20th anniversary on our Oct trip. I was hoping Poly CL could order a few of those special desserts for us. Do you know if I could have those delivered for dessert at Ohanna or maybe even just back at the room would be fine too-maybe that would be even better-can't keep the young kids sitting still too long at any restaurant.

dotterson-I best start by saying that I LOVE the Poly CL so I am biased. Since this is your DH's favorite and your staying at GF next year I think I'd try Poly. Your DD will love the pool and maybe there are a few things you haven't done there yet??? I want to see the torch lighting ceremony this next trip and I know my DD would love to try some of the crafts or hula lessons.

lovesdumbo,

There were so many wonderful desserts that night. I'm sure Janet knows the name of each one.

I know they had "Mikey Mousse" I believe these were the Mickey shaped things you are asking about.

There was also Mickey Jello, two kinds of cobbler, worms and dirt, Mickey rice krispie treats, some sort of parfait AND the Cinderella Slipper Dessert.

Everything was so yummy.::yes::

Sounds like the Poly should be your next adventure and their CL is wonderful!
Sit back, find a nice comfy chair, and have a latte and muffin! :wave2:

Tess....SEE you next week!!!!

VAgal....any of those desserts float your boat?:boat:
;) :p

disneyholic family...I have to admit....AKL IPO is absolutely the best at returning emails and calls.
But, I really think it depends on their email and call volume....and how many CMs they have in the IPO that day.:chat:

Still waiting for Melissa from Poly IPO to email or call me back.
::yes::

LOL, kacsmom and GoofyJoofy! Couldn't sleep well last night so I work on clippies!
Helps me go to sleep! really! promise!:hyper:

BambiTamby - Let me tell you that chocolate mousse and the tiered dessert (didn't catch that name of it) intrigues me. Sending you a PM....I hope it's not too late?

I just got a response from Melissa at WL IPO. So hopefully, I can get everything squared away.

I am breathing a sigh of relief tonight! My son-in-law, Joshua, is home from overseas safe and sound!:bounce: He is in the Air Force and stationed at Pope in North Carolina. It was touch and go about coming home , but they finally arrived early Sunday morning.
With both my daughters married to military men, things have been rather tense at my house lately. Suzy and Josh will celebrate their 5th anniversary in sept. with a trip to WDW. They have been in Germany for 4 years before coming back to the states 18 months ago. It has been ages since they have both been to WDw and they are very excited.
Well, thanks for letting me share my relief.
Woody, I hope you are doing Ok. I still have your family in my prayers.

Kerry, I am so happy for you and your family! My son-in-law is in the British Army and also just returned home from Iraq. Apparently things started getting really bad where he was, so I am glad he is now home, and getting out of the military.

I just e-mailed my itinerary to IPO. Yes like you all it has sparked that excitement in me!! I haven't told my kids... hopefully I can keep it a secret . My husband is just happy having someone do the planning for him, he really doesn't care about how the details come about. I guess its a husband thing!!! So my dog is hearing all about my excitement, give him a treat and a rub and he'll listen to anything LOL!!,( come on guys, I was talking about my dog!!!) (sorry I had too).

Any ideas for our first day?? We arrive @WL 11:00am Still no concierge for that night! Still hoping though! Maybe Ohana's or Boma's for dinner??

Will CL take care of moving us if we don't have CL availible for our first night? I hopefully have PS for princess BF early. So we won't be @ the hotel!

Sorry for all the questions.
ITM

Finally got to look at Janets party pictures. WOW!! What a spectacular evening that must have been.

Bambi...I LOVE the new lounge lizard sign. How cute! I can only imagine how excited you and VAgal must be getting about your trip. Won't be long now. Can't wait to hear all about it.

PatriciaH ~When are you cruising? I would LOVE to book this package, and completely forgot about this on our last two cruises...(too busy with excursions and Spa reservations). I prefer a nice package...where we can enjoy some time together. Sounds wonderful. Thanks for the info. :goodvibes

We are leaving the Poly GVC for the 3 night Wonder cruise October 21st-24th. :jumping1:

Janet, I had a chance to look at all your pictures, and all I can say is WOW! What I wouldn't give to attend one of your fantastic events! Everyone has the biggest smiles on their faces--a true measure of a good party. Those desserts look incredible too! Thank you for sharing your pictures with us. :)

LOLOLOL!! BUSTED! I had to finish a good book before bed - but, I don't have work the next day, so there!!:teeth:

BT - OK, so long as you don't overdo it!;) (Ooops, forgot, not talking to one of my kids!! Haha!)

Debbie - Glad you're getting caught up, and school's almost out! Man, that seems like such a long time, our school got out May 26!

inthemood - Dogs are good listeners, I find!::yes:: Are you planning on going to the parks your first day, or not? If not, my kids and I spent our first day a couple years ago visiting other resorts, ate lunch at WL then walked around, headed back to the GF (where we were staying) had dinner at Narcoossee's and watched the EWP and fireworks. Great day, very relaxing! Doing the mouse boats is a great first-day activity, too, but they've changed the rules now, so not too sure how old your kids are? If they're under 16, they can't drive one by themselves - grrrr - really hate that!

No experience moving from reg. room to CL, but other posters have stated the bell services will collect your bags and move them for you while you are gone, no worries! Anybody out there know for sure?!
