Have you been "Bitten" by the Concierge "Bug"? aka The LIZARD LOUNGE!

Just an FYI on the Yosemite Suite. We just stayed there and encountered an ant problem. They were very strange looking ants crawling between the dining room and bedroom areas.

I asked for service but we checked out of the room shortly after that. You may want to double check that the situation has been taken care of. :D

Woody..more  and ~*~*~*~*~*~*~* for you, sweetie! Never heard of those pops, but hey! Anything beats the am sickness !!!!

mom_rules..WOW! Folic acid in the vitamins made you sick?
Learn something new on these boards everyday!::yes::

disneyholic family....hehehehe! you ARE a LOUNGE LIZARD to the max!
I LOVE your itinerary! Plus, the suite thingie is a nice "add on"!:teeth:

Kimberle...PSherman and kacsmom are right! I would email again, then call, just to sweetly ask if they received your email.;)

lovesdumbo...you are right on the mark about filling up those bottles at AKL CL. We're just going to make a grocery stop and load up on bottled water. Nice to have those complimentary fridges in your rooms!

BIG  to everyone else as I quickly grab an iced tea and head out for work!

goodferry and sojo...just hours away!:bounce: :bounce:

How am I supposed to do something as mundane as work when I have a counter like this???
Everyone stay well while I am away and I will be back with a trip report, I promise!

GoofyJoofy. I am a huge fan of splitting my stays. I like to do it since it gives me the chance to try more than one resort per trip. It's really great as far as transportation goes too--we love splitting our stay between a monorail resort where we're close to the MK and an Epcot area resort. I really don't think it's a pain at all to switch resorts, but I will add that I drive to WDW so I do have a car. I simply call bell services to get my luggage, drive on over to my 2nd resort, and check in there. Though I never count on it, my room has often been ready ahead of time as well. I have heard that Disney will transport your luggage for you from resort to resort if you don't have a car of your own, so I'm sure that's a nice service as well. I'm not sure how long the delay is to get your luggage, but if you're in the parks all day it shouldn't be a problem at all I wouldn't think. :)

Good afternoon all!

I am leaving out afternoon goodies for all...wonderful chicken salad sandwhiches included...also some ginger pops in the corner for Woody.

I have a Poly question...hairdryers...I remember reading that they are the old fashioned types...not the new fangled blow dryers that we all have and love. Is this true? Just need to know if I need to bring that along with me. Also how big is the fride in the Poly rooms?

Hope everyone has a great afternoon!

The hairdryers are still the old fashioned type that have been there forever! Ugh. . .I was hoping they'd have changed those and saved me bringing mine along.

The fridge is a big smaller than the square type you rent. . .more of a small size dorm cooler. It sure doesn't get real cold, but works to keep cans cool.

floridafam--
thanks for the heads up ....i'll call the WL and check if it's been taken care of....
a few years back we were staying in a very fancy hotel (not in florida), and our room had cockroaches....i nearly dropped dead...
i went straight to the manager to complain....and then we checked out....no way was i staying in a building overrun with cockroaches...
however, ants in a woody area are a bit hard to control.....i'm sure it's a constant battle for them...

Tess--
you look so familiar...but it's probably just that you look like someone i know......

goodferry, have a FANTASTIC trip! I can't wait for your trip report! :sunny:

I have a Poly question...hairdryers...I remember reading that they are the old fashioned types...not the new fangled blow dryers that we all have and love.

Well, they are blow driers, but about the most basic, primitive ones you can get. It's not like you have to wear one of those hoods, but they're basically a one-speed, one-temp drier. Maybe they did have 2 speeds, actually, don't remember. I end up washing my hair really early in the AM and letting the curls take over. I figure with the humidity they'd eventually have their way anyways.

I'm not even going to try to catch up with everythign else I've missed over the last several days. I'm just glad to be back!
I missed the board and my vicarious Disney fix!

Sorry so long in getting back. WOW! Thanks for all the response on CRT dinner.

Kerry cm--that was an amazing story! My dad loves to do stuff like that. With hubby in restaurant biz he has helped out on the other side for special occasions and proposals.

#1 hockeymom--thanks too for the reassurance. I know the atmosphere is great--had bfast on honeymoon but was worried about the dinner food. But you're right, unless it is the absolute worst food ever, we should be too immersed in the magic to notice!

DF99--thanks for all the specifics--we will definitely look for that server----if we get our ps! By the way, your party sounds awesome! I think in my next life, otherwise known as when the kids are in school, I would love to look into getting paid for all my craziness with planning! Of course, it doesn't help that my oldest always seems to pick themes after they are gone from the stores--eg Peter Pan 2 years ago--then 1 month later DS rolls out the Adventurers--now they still have Peter Pan merchandise around! Forces you to get creative--oh, and use ebay!

You have all been so helpful and I am truly appreciative. My family is too, they just might not know it yet. I will check in the next few days for a last fix before we head off. Just saw some poly pictures and great review which helps.

Hopefully, Woody will have some great news before I leave.
Prayers for you !

I too would love to see janet's pics--I think I looked at hers for the Pirate Cruise for my son. I'm sure they will be awesome.l

Have a great evening!

disneyholic family~You are going to LOVE the PBH Concierge! We always stay here each summer, since the resort initially opened. The first summer, there was Concierge & full Butler service available for the Villa suites. Then, the following year...the resort nixed the service unexpectedly. We still enjoyed the Villa suites, but missed the service.

NOW...it's back!! This resort has wonderful & plush accomodations, a FAB spa (a MUST do), and loads of fun things to do/experience. We love staying in the same VILLA BAY BUTLER SUITE, on the 5th floor of the wing. It's so close to the elevators, and the boat launch. We also play Bocce ball, and rent a poolside cabana for a treat. This year, I purchased annual passes to US & IOA. We always take in a movie in Citywalk (Spiderman II) and love Dining at Emeril's while watching the fireworks over IOA through the patio window.

It is truly one of our favorite resorts...and the most relaxing. I request air purifiers for the rooms & some chenille blankets for the sofa/chairs. Makes it even more cozy, and I love the soothing sound of the purifier running throughout the eve. There is always a CD of portofino music whispering through the suite as it emanates from the stereo, and red/white wine, fresh fruit and cheese awaiting in the pantry area. The Fax in the office area welcomes/greets me by name, and alerts me to any messages, etc.

When we order breakfast, the associate arrives and quietly sets a fresh & soft white linen cloth upon the massive mahogany dining table, meticulously arranges the silver, etc., fresh flowers and deliciously prepared food, before gently summoning us out of our sleep/beds. This process is repeated for any meal, and constitutes the "full treatment," leaving us satisfied and indulged beyond our dreams. Now...if only I could get this associate to come and do this each morning (actually, all day) at my OWN home!! (LOL). :p

Hope you have a memorable time in this heavenly retreat! ::yes::

Tess--
you look so familiar...but it's probably just that you look like someone i know......

Yeah, I get that a lot from people. I must have one of those faces.

At YC -CL we had 3 bars of bath soap, one facial soap, shampoo/conditioner. hand lotion, toothbrush and toothpaste in our room everyday.

Do different resorts leave different amenities? What about BWI CL?

Also, YC had one hot entree (different every night) from the Yachtsman Steakhouse. Other CL's? What kinds of things did they have?

Do BWI CL rooms have fridges and coffeemakers or do you have to ask for them. (YC-CL had fridge but had to ask for coffee maker and coffee).

disneyholic family & Tess - I've thought Tess looks like Allison Janney from West Wing (I know her from other things, I've never watched West Wing, oddly enough!;) Is it possible that is why she reminds you of someone?:wave2:

mom_rules - We had basically the same amenities you mentioned at the Poly and AKL, except only one bath soap!;) As for food, the Poly had fried rice and beef/chicken skewers one night, then Lo Mein noodles and egg rolls another. The AKL had several hot dishes (one of ribs, I'm pretty sure) but we didn't ever eat the dinner-type food, so I'm not sure what they were.:sunny:

Got DD's Pointe shoes, that was quite an Odyssey!!:faint: We live in a very small town, about 100 miles south of KC. We go up to the KC Plaza to get our hair cut, and DD's dance teacher says "oh, you can run over to the dance shop to get her fitted for her new shoes." Uh huh. When we finally got directions from the Plaza to the shop, they were so intricate, we almost didn't get there. Finally ended up on the cell, getting a mile-by-mile description of how to get there, like we were the pilot of a crippled plane being talked down from the air!! What a day!! Now, the riding boots should be much, much simpler!::yes:: At least I hope so!:wave2:

Hello all,
Woody--hang in there. As someone else said, they kept telling me that all day sickness is a good sign. Hormones are working overtime

Goodferry--I hope I will see you my red haired sis.

Can the concierge book the fishing excursion? My son mentioned today that he really wanted to go fishing.

Also, my little one wants to play on the "beach". We are staying at AKL. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'll file my trip report when I return.

Woo hoo. Disney here we come.

I watch West Wing every week! Love it! I am much shorter than Ms. Janney--she's very tall, but we were both raised near Dayton, Ohio--does that count? :teeth:

i don't watch west wing, but no doubt it's that she reminds me of someone i know or have known.....who knows.......anyway, Tess you have a great smile...

sojo33...
i suppose the concierge can book the fishing trip for you....we always just call the sports phone number to book it ourselves...(is it wdw-play?).....
keep in mind that it's catch and release (you can't keep the fish)...
you can do it on bay lake (the one by the magic kingdom) or the bay by the boardwalk area...
the fishing in bay lake is much much much much better.....
even if you don't stay at a magic kingdom hotel you can go fishing...
you just pick the hotel with a marina on bay lake where they can pick you up...i think they pick up from the contemporary, GF, WL and fort wilderness....
we always go from the contemporary....but the boat comes to get us from fort wilderness (where they're based)...

for the $250 or whatever it is that it costs, you get the whole pontoon boat + guide + soft drinks for 2 hours....
they charge extra for the live bait.....but it's very cheap...
my kids love it...they always catch a lot of fish....one time they caught over 30 fish!!!a few of them huge.....

 Thanks, I actually think my smile is awful--I'm of the age that parents didn't do the orthodontic work, as a rule, and my teeth could have used some cosmetic dentistry. . .although, I know others have it much worse than me. Thankfully, my kids have had orthodontia (one still in it).
