Have you been "Bitten" by the Concierge "Bug"? aka The LIZARD LOUNGE!

I'm back from one heck of day yesterday!

SOJO33 - Goodness, are you ready yet or what?! Wishing you the very best for your trip. :teeth:

Ants in the Yosemite Suite. I don't like bugs so maybe I should be able to tour it before I try upgrading to you it ;). I wonder if the Yellowstone suite will open up....I highly doubt it .

BT - Yes, I'm getting so excited ! Especially when I woke up this morning since my dreaded test is over with (only time will tell how well I actually did) & DD pulled through his knee surgery okay.

DF - Thanks for the well wishes for DD's surgery! His blood pressure was up afterwards so they wanted to keep him overnight, but he wouldn't stay at the hospital if you paid him a million dollars ! They did let him come home and he got settled in last night. I'm going to visit again tomorrow morning to give DM reinforcement on getting him to follow doctor's orders. He's bit of a stubborn man....

Well, I have another meeting to rush off to & wanted to stop in and say "Mornin" and grab a cup of coffee and danish. :wave2:

May I be so bold as to ask for some prayers & PD for my dear cousin, mother of four of my beautiful nieces & nephews? She needs some divine guidance to put her anger aside and help her make the right decision for her family. She has had several really difficult years, with marital difficulties and money troubles, etc. In her anger and hurt she is about to make a move that would devastate her children and put them and herself in a risky environment. Please send your most healing thoughts her way and pray she will find the strength to put her children's health & safety first. Thanks to all the LLs for all the support received on this thread!

Donna

Steveanddonna - She has certainly been added to prayer & PD list! :( ::yes:: Sounds very serious & I'm reading between the lines.

steveanddonna - Ohhh, my most positive thoughts for you and your family. I will definitely be thinking of you, and sending extra PD for the little ones. I know how hard it is to see the needs of the children when anger gets in the way.:grouphug:

I have a trip planned for November 23 – 28 staying at the AKL concierge. I am taking my niece for her 13th birthday; this is my gift to her. I originally had us booked at the CBR but after reading all (and I mean all) of this tread I have decided to change our reservation to the AKL concierge. Ok so I paid rack rate for the room. I just feel that I really want this trip to be special for both of us. I will be turning 40 when we are there so this is an extra special trip for both of us.

So again thank you all for your comments on the different hotels in the concierge level, but I really want to experience the sunrise safari.

I am sure this will not be my last concierge trip…

ARF - LOL that is exactly what happened with me. I've never stayed concierge at Disney but after reading the thread, splurged for the AKL CL

You will love Don and Andrea. I usually have an answer to any email the same day (sometimes within 30 minutes) They are the best.

Have fun planning.

steveanddonna...your prayer request has been noted.
Lots of prayer for GOD to calm her heart and accept His guidance to protect them! :sunny:

I'm like VAgal on this one, too...reading inbetween the lines!
Speaking of..... to you and your family!
Sounds like my Dad, too....stubborn! LOL! Wonder if we got that same "gene"!;)
...you'll be meeting my Dad very soon, VAgal!!!!
I'm sending you a PM....:smooth:

Looks like goodferry is already at the Magic and sojo's getting ready to leave!

Have a wonderful time and ~*~*~ to return back to the lounge safe and sound, Sojo!!!!!!!:bounce:

Tess...won't be able to miss that smile at the Poly CL!
We'll be seeing you too soon!:wave2:

dreamflight...After reading about your PBH villa, I'm determined to stay there within this year!
Ah! What service! I LOVE it!:cloud9:

My best friend, DJW, will be joining us at this lounge soon!
She's stayed at the Poly and AKL CLs and she, DD (16) and me are planning a last minute trip to WDW for August!
Who's going to be there in August? steveanddonna???

hopefully she'll be able to remember her logon password as it's been three years since she's posted on the DIS.

Woody...hang in there, sweetie!

I've gotten bags of those same toiletries! LOL!
Seems CL amenities should include the extra soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, lotion, and showercap.
Also...sometimes a traveler's sewing kit.
I DO love the soaps, etc at the S/D.....they are fabulous!

:thewave: to all in the lounge as I grab a danish and head off to the store!:moped:

:yo-yo: I don't know if i'm crazy or what ...

I just went on the Southwest website and the airfare is 260.00 less if we leave the day before( We use Southwest beacuse it is the only way to get nonstop both ways, with ds5 and dd4 its the only way to fly! )... So I checked with DH to see if he can get time off and he can so I book it!!! Yeah I saved $260.00 plus and extra day of magic right!! >>> Well almost, First southwest only issues credits (now I have to hope we can make another trip) So I might lose the money if we don't travel in one year. Then I called WL and they don't have concierge availible only woods view for that night. I should have looked into this a little better before I jumped!!! I will also have to take my DS out of Kindergarten 1 extra day ( this disney magic just sweeps me away from my normal thinking!) O well, its booked what can I do???

Thank you Praffen and Bambi

Yes I am going to hang out in the lounge to keep up with any tips I can get.

inthemood-its so funny that you just posted this as I have a very simular thing going on. I haven't purchased tickets yet because DH won't say yes. Well I looked last night and the seat I had wanted on Sat 10/23 on Song was $60 more each (x5 adults and 1 infant=$330). I was SOOO mad at DH! But then before I went to bed I thought hey I've still got a reservation on the room for Fri 10/22 wonder how much those seats are? And they were the original $104 one way. So I thought serves him right we'll just have to go the extra day but when I spoke to the friend going with us she'd rather come home a day earlier and if we do those seats are $20 cheaper so another $110 total savings. It so good of her to come with to help out that I think I should do that. So I just put a hold on flights Fri 10/22 to Fri 10/29. This will work out better for us because we hope to meet up with a friend and her DD from Jacksonville and she can only come to WDW on the weekend so now we'll have all day Sat with them. Then we'll have Sat 10/30 to recover at home before Halloween. My oldest DD will miss another day of Kindergarten too but I think she'll be OK. And with a 3 year old and 21 month old and Grumpy DH non stop is the ONLY way for us also. Please send lots of PD to DH to let him see the magic and let me purchase these tickets!

ARF-sounds like a very special trip you've got planned.

Donna-prayers for your family.

Woody still thinking of you!

At YC -CL we had 3 bars of bath soap, one facial soap, shampoo/conditioner. hand lotion, toothbrush and toothpaste in our room everyday.

Do different resorts leave different amenities? What about BWI CL?

Also, YC had one hot entree (different every night) from the Yachtsman Steakhouse. Other CL's? What kinds of things did they have?

Do BWI CL rooms have fridges and coffeemakers or do you have to ask for them. (YC-CL had fridge but had to ask for coffee maker and coffee).

mom_rules - Our BWI CL room did not have a fridge or coffemaker. I didn't request either, but I'm sure you can. As far as amenities, I don't think that we received toothbrushes or toothpaste, but others were there. I did have to get extra shampoo from the cart in the hallway. The shampoo they give guests now are in smaller bottles and not enough for my family.

As far as their evening offerings, by 5p every night, the offerings were out and there was one hot entree which changed each night. I assumed that the hot entree was from Spoodles, but I am not sure. Some were tasty, some not so great.

WeLuvWDWx5 - when was your last visit to BWI CL? Supposedly, as of this Spring, all CL rooms have complimentary fridges in them. Have you visited lately? Sorry, you may have already posted this, but my poor, addled brain forgets!;)

k&a&c'smom - We were there the last week of March of this year over Spring Break. Maybe they have placed fridge's in the rooms since that time. I do remember emailing the IPO's questioning whether there was a fridge in the room prior to our arrival, and they said no......but for an additional charge one could be placed in the room for us. We declined.

lovesdumbo-- Heres the PD Hope DH gets it!!

VAgal76 --Heres some Pd for your DD and for your Test!!

Actually PD all around( that way I don't leave anyone out!)

I forgot to spill about Allison Krauss... She was wonderful!! what a voice !! Amazing!! All of the others with her were just O.K. I don't know if I'd go to a show like that again though! Everyone played 2 songs and then came back on stage and played another 2 songs... very different I think there were 12 other acts along with her... Made for a LOOONNNGGG night.

I'll leave out ta'nites offerings
stew, ricepilaf, and berry cobbler!!! and of course...
DRINKS FOR EVERYONE>
TGIF:tongue:

WeLuvWDWx5 - Thanks for the info!:wave2: That was just before I went this year, so I've sent an email to BWI IPO to get the skinny! This is a big deal for me, I drink a lot of water and like it in my room late at night, and it has to be cold!;)

:sunny:

WELCOME ARF!!!!!! You are going to love all the nice, helpful folks in the lounge.

inthemood - I told you you would probably love Allison Krauss. She has such a unique, sweet voice. Yep, definitely one of my favorites.

OMG - LOOK AT MY COUNTER!!!! :hyper: In less than 30 minutes from now it will be officially 2 weeks to the time we'll be taking off in the plane that's taking us to see WDW! Panic is starting to seep in a little....gotta get mousekeeping envelopes, arrange the final gift for DH & DS, start packing (it's never too early, you know ;) ). Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! :cool1:

Packing is about to begin! Remind me again, is it okay to pack the unexposed film in your checked luggage? You'd think I'd remember from trip to trip, but I'm having a Friday, senior moment! :) I'd be so bummed if my pix didn't turn out because of some silly x-ray machine!

BT and all you other LLs visiting when we do. . .I would look for you, but I don't know what you look like. Since I'm the open book with our family photo splashed all over the internet, be sure to say 'hey' if you notice us in the lounge or around the resort. We are definitely early risers, my husband will be the one in his Mickey boxers and ball cap getting an espresso for each of us (double if you please) at 6:00 a.m. We usually meander into the lounge for breakfast (them before me) around 7:00 a.m. We will hang by the pools, weather permitting (and, BTW, that weather forecast is surely stinking right now--what the heck is happening to all of that 90+ sunshine????) in the afternoons between 2-5, grab a nibble in the lounge (through the week anyway), and head to where ever we determine appropriate thereafter. We do try to make it back for desserts, but hey--it's Disney, you never know when we might decide to hit AC or Comedy Club.

Did I mention, I am so looking forward to my vacation? :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :hyper: :hyper:

Oh yeah, welcome to everyone who has recently joined us in the lounge and prayers for those who've asked. Now, it's Friday, pass me a glass of burgundy!

Donna, I will say a prayer for your cousin right now. for both her and you as well.

I can't believe how many LL's are so close to their trips! Have wonderful trips and bring back trip reports and pictures for those of us who still have to wait a while! :)

First of all, prayers and PD to Woody'sroundup and Donna's cousin. May everything work out well in the end!
Woody'sroundup>> My first was a sick through the entire thing pregnancy. She's graduating next Friday, she has always been beautiful and healthy and I forgot all about being sick 24/7! As you know, every pregnancy is different! (Couldn't possibly be sick with #2; I think I slept the entire nine months!) I hope you continue to get good signs and good news from your doctor!

SteveandDonna>>I do hope the right decisions are made as I too, read between the lines. You're strong, and prayers are too. Hopefully this will pass into the shadows.

Now.. the good stuff! It is Friday! TWO MORE WEEKS! No, not for my vacation, but for my VACATION! Then I can worry about my vacation! We thought we'd actually get the pool open this weekend, then hope for some nice weather to warm it up!

Vagal>> test? What test? I am missing something and must reread! I hope it isn't a packing test! LOL

Tess>> Have a great time! We'll hold down the fort here in Michigan!

Lovesdumbo>> Sounds like its planned... now go buy those tickets! One day of kdg missed is one day of wonderful family time spent together!

Inthemood>> don't you had that when you accidentally hit the "buy now" button for those plane tickets! It happened to me three times this year! I just don't know how that happens!

ARF>> You're going to LOVE AKL! I bet there will be AP rates, also. My first visit was in November, and I booked under my mom's FLA resident rate. I bought an AP during that trip and I've been obsessed with AKL ever since! Two CL visits later, I am trying to wean myself away and visit the Poly for more than just Ohana's!

I am so far behind! I promise to catch up with my reading this weekend, and post back!

BT>> I am a "DLW" so I'll make sure to look out for her!

Kac'smom>> I hope you're enjoying your more calm weather! So glad I haven't been hearing about major storms in your area! I can relate to your car stories so much! I just got lost in the town I work in! Wouldn't you think they could put street signs actually ON the streets? LOL Glad you arrived safe and sound!

Major changes here at home, but I think DD might actually go on the summer trip with DS and me! >>>>>>My baby left the nest! She has a great apartment in the town north of here..... but... ok... lets just say I haven't had much sleep since this all started last Sunday, and now that it has sunk in, I am really trying to leave the communication doors open and keep a smile on my face, even though when she hangs up the phone or walks out the door I fall into tears. She's smart, she has a decent job, and she will be going to college in the September. *big breath*

Grabbing a glass of wine before I ruin the lounge serenity!

And don't worry about making another trip to use those credits!;)
Just word of advice....do NOT loose the confirmation numbers for those credits!:earseek:

WELCOME BACK to the Lizard LOUNGE, WeLuvWDWx5 !!!
:wave2:

Tess.....you won't miss me....I'll be the big blonde Delta Burke lookalike!:earsgirl:
Accent and all!

Speaking of comp fridges.....a CL CM told me this last trip that eventually they will have those in all CL rooms in the WDW deluxes...concierge rooms/suites.
Can't wait to see that....probably about the same time they decide to replace those old hairdryers at the Poly!!!!:earseek:
Sheeesh! Even our room at the CR had the new ones!
LOL!!!!

OK....Debra and I have decided...so far.... to stay at the GF RPC Concierge deluxe room (I got an AP discount on it! WOW!)
plus the Swan or Dolphin for the August trip!
Was trying to get the CR 14th floor or Tower Club or the Poly CL, but nothing available!

Oh well...the GF RPC will have to do!;)

inthemood....thanks for tonight's offerings! I'll just help myself to a little bit of cobbler!

Prayer, ~*~*~*~*~ and  for everyone needing one!
