Have to drop 1 resort...don't know what one to drop!?

BC is wonderful! Love the pool, the atmosphere, and the proximity to Epcot. But if you are primarily going to be at MK why not consider WL, GF or CR for your split stay?

I actually originally had AKL/Poly/GF, but then changed It to AKL/Poly, and then AKL/Poly/BC.

I didn't pick WL because I thought it would be very similar to AKL (decor wise) and the pool isn't zero entry which I really wanted for my 3 year old.

CR I honestly have no interest in...

GF..it looks very nice, but I've been told its not as 'fun' as the other resorts and its more 'stuffy'..whether that's really true, I don't know, but I got turned off it when I heard that.

We have stayed at both GF and WL and loved them both. Whatever you choose you will have a great time, but I would stay with BC and Poly. Like someone said you can always visit AKL. I think the resort is beautiful but my DH thinks its too out of the way. We are DVC owners now and usually stay either BLT or BC , but we are looking forward to staying at GFV!

Lol, we cant ever make up our mind either. We are just always confused if we should stay at somewhere we know and love or try something new. At best, WDW is only an annual trip for us, so we want it to be awesome every trip. I cant even remember how many times we changed our minds and reservations, lol. Its all part of the fun.
Luckily for us, our plans are now final, as the summer discount offer has expired so we are stuck with our decision or pay full price vs 30% off price we have locked in :rotfl2:. I kind of feel relieved to tell you the truth.

I hope you can find a way to stay at all three resorts. Such a different experience with all 3 of your choices. All 3 are very unique, and different locations. Your choices are great. 1 resort in the MK area, 1 resort in the Epcot area, and AK is a world all of its own.
You cant go wrong with whatever you choose.

I will add that since you already stayed at BC, you may want to try something new to keep it fresh ? But only if you have to choose 2. (Still keep fighting for all 3 !)

Just be sure and let us all know what the final outcome is ! :lmao:

Thank-you for your honest answer:)

I'm actually going to call Disney to find out what time the pool closes in Oct. I would hope it wouldn't be too early.

We do have an ADR at Cape May Cafe, and really want to experince Beaches and Cream..yum!!

I do agree that the Boardwalk would be an added bonus!!

I do wish we took more advantage of Beaches & Cream. Such a great parlor. I think in Oct the pool is still open fairly late. Good luck in your disney ventures!

I actually had a reservation made for Oct 23rd (opening day) for 4 nights in the new DVC building at the GF, but changed my mind.
I've never ever been so indecisive:confused3

I hope so, I'm going to call Disney tom to find out. Even if we didn't stay at BC, we will still visit Beaches and Cream:banana:

Haha! I don't even talk Disney with the DH anymore cause I drive him crazy!!

I've never changed my mind so many times, and I don't know why I keep doing it, but from what I've read from you and many others, I'm not alone..lol

As for the BC, I have never stayed on Disney property before. When I mentioned staying in BC, I was talking about British Columbia. We did a 3 way split stay when we went last summer and had a blast.

I think my DH doesn't want to stay in 3 resorts in Disney because after Disney we are staying on the beach for another 8 days, so that would mean we would move resorts a total of 4 times. To me, 4 times in 23 days isn't bad at all, but he thinks differently.

I'm going to sleep on it, speak to him this week, and I promise to let you know what we decide!!

Thanks again for everything, and I really enjoyed your messages:goodvibes

My vote is to drop AKL. We've stayed there twice. The pool at Kidani is more fun than the one at Jambo. After 15 minutes of swimming at the Jambo pool, each one of our kids came over to me lounging with my iPad and they wanted to play on my iPad instead of swimming! At BC, I couldn't drag the kids out of the pool!

A Poly/BC is my idea of a dream split stay! In fact, we were supposed to do that same split this summer, but decided against it when I learned we would save $400 over 4 nights by staying CL at BC instead of Poly CL. So we are "settling" for 8 nights at BC. BC is seriously my favorite place so it's not too much of a hardship for me! After staying there last summer, I honestly can't imagine going to WDW and not staying there!

Try and convince your husband that a 5/5/5 split isn't a lot of moving around....because it really isn't! Your family is lucky to have all that vacation time! Plus spending time at the beach after WDW....LUCKY!!!!

Please rethink your plans if its not too late too switch ! :duck: .
While we love The BC, we can admit that the CL is lacking compared to most other resorts CL especially the Poly !!! The BC CL cast members are great, but the lounge is small and usually hard to find a seat, the food area is like a free for all because they set-it up so there is really no proper line. There is NO view what so ever, and some of the club level rooms are not even on the same floor. The Poly on the other hand, is well worth the extra cost. Night and day difference if you have never tried it. BC is about our favorit resort, but not because of the CL. Actually given the choice we would prefer to stay at BC and NOT do CL to save some money. Unfortunatly for us, our family of 5 is quite large (kids are growing up), and we prefer to stay in a BC deluxe room which is larger than the standard rooms. The deluxe rooms come with CL mandatory, so if we want the larger deluxe BC room, we also have no choice but do CL level as well.
Th Poly CL is really quite an experience if you have never tried it before.
We were on the fence with a BC CL / Poly CL split for our upcoming vacation, but decided to try GF CL instead of the Poly this trip. Hopefully we will be just as happy with GF CL as we were with the Poly CL.

Stick with your dream split stay if its not too late. $400. is a lot of money, but not only are you getting a way better CL, you will get to stay at the Poly which is awesome !!!

Ive stayed at all three resorts and here is my order Poly just because of the location to MK as you stated u will probably going there the most... Then I would say BCV... I love that place so much to do between the pools, its location to Epcot and Disney studios, You can rent boats, you can walk over to the Boardwalk complex which has performers and very nice pool also, You can even have dinner at one of the Dolphin and swan hotels a few days... That whole area is like its own complex...Were going to BCV this July cant wait. AkL as great as it is, is too far from everything and my kids after the first two days could reall care less about sitting on the verandah watching the animals.. Me and my wife actually loved doing that..

Thanks for your input. I've read some not-so-wonderful reviews of the CL lounge at BC. It truly won't bother me at all that its smaller than Poly's. It takes a lot to aggravate me at WDW (at home, I'm aggravated quite easily but that pixie dust...it has a magical spell). Heat and humidity....no big deal. Brazilian Tour Groups....meh, they're fine...just a bunch of kids enjoying themselves. Crowds....I know how to somewhat avoid them in July (thanks to SAB). As long as I'm at WDW, I'm happy!

We are already spending more on this trip than ever before so that extra $400 would hurt. My motto is I'd rather be able to go to WDW more often than spend a fortune and go less often.

Maybe next summer we'll be able to stay at Poly!

Thank_you:thumbsup2

I will try and work my magic on my DH...LOL

Good luck.....I hope it works and DH agrees to the 3 way split :wizard:.

Another BC lover:) BC is a very popular resort..is it because of the pool or the location? If BC was placed where AKL is, would you still pick BC? I'm just curious??

Location and SAB are the two main things that I always see mentioned when someone asks about the BC. IMO, if AKL and BC were switched, I think people would suggest staying at AKL. This is just my opinion, of course, but I think being within walking distance to Epcot/DHS and SAB are things that most people see as the main reasons to stay at the BC, so if a different resort was placed there, that resort would be the favorite.

I'm actually going to call Disney to find out what time the pool closes in Oct. I would hope it wouldn't be too early.

A friend of mine stayed at the BC during October one year (first time to Disney) and one thing she didn't like was that the pool closed early (like 8:00). Not sure if it changes from time to time, but she was surprised to find such an early closing time.

Luckily for us, our plans are now final, as the summer discount offer has expired so we are stuck with our decision or pay full price vs 30% off price we have locked in :rotfl2:. I kind of feel relieved to tell you the truth.

Not to make things harder for you, but even though the promo has expired, you can still change resorts if what you want is available under the promo. Regular reservation CMs don't have access to expired promos, but guest services can check availability and make the change ;).

I'm going to sleep on it, speak to him this week, and I promise to let you know what we decide!!

Good luck :).

This is good to know as I have been contemplating a BC CL stay to check it out, but have read many reviews similar to yours. We've stayed WL CL, GF SL, and GF RPC and while RPC is my favorite, WL CL runs a very close second. I didn't care for SL as the lounge is small and no views. Every time I go to book BC or YC CL, I read about the small lounge, no views, and so-so food offerings and choose not to book :sad2:.

Well, I convinced him, yay!!!!!!!:cheer2:

With all the help from all of you wonderful, friendly people..I had so many wonderful things to say about the BC that he couldn't say no...hehe

So, I called Disney and made the changes, again..haha

We are 5 nights AKL, 5 nights BC and 5 nights Poly!!

I also asked about the pool closing time, and he said till 10pm, but 'hours are subject to change'

Thank-you again to everyone for all your help and information! I wouldn't have done it without all of you:banana::cool1::woohoo:

Cheers,
Amy

We are all very excited!! Now, I just have to stop over thinking things, and NO MORE changes!!! I'm always second guessing myself!

I also now have to change some dining reservations, but that's easy, and I enjoy doing it.

For the BC, I requested a full balcony..I got Garden View. Should I request anything else or is that good enough? I have no idea how large the resort is. I don't know about AKL either..I requested 3rd floor, and that's it!?

Any more insight would be wonderful:)

If it makes you or your husband feel any better, we are planning a 4 way split over 12 nights (3 nights at each resort) at WL-Poly-AKL-BC.

So obviously I: (1) like your resort choices; and (2) think a three way split at AKL-Poly-BC over 15 nights is not overdoing it on changing resorts.:goodvibes

That's a lot of resorts, but its great you will get to experience them alll!!

I love your choices as well:)

Have a great vacation!!

We are doing 4 resorts in 15 nights. I wouldn't have planned it this way it just kinda grew organically

Wow, congrats on the (not so) subtle persuasion, lol :rotfl2: .
You guys are going to have a great time. AKL is such a unique resort, it would have been a shame to drop it, your kids are going to have a blast. They will love all the animals.
If they are "fish" they are going to love BC .......just dont get too stressed trying to look after them at SAB. Remember there are lifeguards everywhere. It is literally impossible to find anywhere at SAB where you can not see a lifeguard. Start them out at the sandy kids play area then explore from there. Make sure they get some time in the whirlpool cove ........no not the spa / jacuzzi.......there is an actual huge whirlpool cove that the kids will love to spin around and around in ! The lazy river is very deep so be carefull until you get used to it. It even catches some adults off-guard. The slide may be a little much for the kids considering their age........but the adults may like it :thumbsup2 .

And the Poly ........well what can I say ........its the POLY. Its awesome !!! The only negitive is the lack of a hot-tub. So if you are hot tub people..........get your fix at AK or BC. (I wish the Poly would build a hot tub).

Have a great time on your vacation, it will be a blast, and I am sure when its all said and done, your hubby will love the experience of trying the different resorts !

We are all very excited! I showed my boys some videos of SAB, and their eyes lit up! My 6 year old is a major thrill seaker, so I know he will be hitting the big waterslide 100+ times!
I'm not a hot tub fan, never go in them, so I'm totally fine going without one at the Poly:) but thanks for the heads up!
AKL has always had my heart, so I'm very happy we get to experience all 3! They all have something different to offer, and it will be like 3 vacations in one
:thumbsup2
Thanks again for all your help with the resorts and the info you have provide on all 3 resorts, its been a ton of help! :goodvibes
