Have they given away a DVC yet?

Anyone know if anyone has been awarded a DVC yet? A while back there was a thread with an article attached, listing big prizes won so far. There had, at that time, been some cruises and the 'round the world' trip given away. Just wondering if any of the big prizes will be given away via postcard entry.

My wife asked one the Dream Team member we met during our "encounter" last week if the DVC memberships had been given away yet and they said they were not aware of any that had been awarded as of yet.

Thanks, I thought for sure I won last week. The phone rang and caller id said WDW. When I answered, the girl was very chirpy and said she was calling on behalf of DVC ......................................................to follow up on the dvd I had ordered. So far I've won three times with the postcards, so I thought this was IT. Maybe next time. Hoping that because there are three they'll do one at WDW, one at DL and one by mail.

I got a phone call too from WDW, and she wanted to know if I wanted the package for DVC after I ordered the DVD.

I'm sending postcards in again daily.

I do feel disappointed that mail receiptants only win Mickey ears and Laynards. But I still have hope.

That's not true. Some of the higher-tier prizes can and have been awarded through the alternate means of entry. There have been a couple posts around the net with people claiming these winnings.

Any prize can be awarded to any entrant. Now, granted, it’s somewhat futile for a mail-in entry to win a Dream FastPass (except for collectible purposes) or an extra hour in a park, because those are prizes that expire. Ditto for the night in the Castle*. But MOST of the prizes ‘work’ for anyone.

And in the “a friend of my uncle’s cousin’s wife’s sister won…” category – I think I know someone who was there when the first DVC membership was won. Would have been late last September, and no, she wasn’t the winner.

*A replacement prize is offered, for example ONLY: if the msrp of the Dream FastPass is $10, a prize of equal value – maybe a stuffed animal – will be granted in its place.

It would be so cool if we got one! We have 4 kids but plan on adopting more and Im not sure how long we can pull off going to Disney. Im just so grateful we can go now as it is, but itd be cool to know we could do it in the future too!
