As I've mentioned before this gardening thing is all new to me. I killed my mums last year and I think I'm doing the same thing this year. Is this possible?
I bought two mums to put in my new containers that would flank either side of our front door. I just took the two mums in the containers I bought them in and sat them down in my new containers. So basically I didn't repot them. The new containers have plugs in the bottoms of them which I did not remove. Anyway, I've been watering my mums and turning them every couple of days so they get sun on all sides. One mum was doing good, the other was not. Our front porch is shaded, but does get some direct sun at certain times of the day. I thought maybe that wasn't enough so I moved the mums to our back patio where they would get direct sun all day thinking this might help. Ha! No. One mum was still doing good and the other was doing worse. So I took both out of the extra containers that they were sitting in and saw that the container that the bad mum in it was full of water. As soon as I sat the mum on the patio water poured out of it. So, I removed the plugs from the containers, put the mums back in the containers, and did not water them. I hope you can understand what I'm saying. I guess what I'm asking is did I over water?? If so, will the mum come back to life or what can I do to help it?
Yesterday I also made two pansy hanging baskets for our front porch. Wish them luck!
