Have heard of incredibly long wait times dispite having an ADR. How long is too long?

Worst experience we had in regards to getting seated for an ADR was at Whispering Canyon Cafe last month. We arrived at 8:10pm for our 8:30pm ressie. We were finally seated about 9:40pm:scared1: This was after them telling us numerous times that we would be "the next party to be seated" then watching 4 or 5 more parties go ahead of us. It wouldn't have been so bad if we could say that those were parties of 2 or 6 or 8 (we were a party of 4). They were families of 4, just like us, who arrived after us, and were seated quickly. We didn't have a choice but to eat there, or at Roaring Fork (which we had done the night before and weren't in the mood for again!). It was our last night there and really didn't leave a favorable impression. For every other ADR we had, we were seated within 10 minutes of our ADR time. Those included CP, CRT, Marrakesh, Coral Reef, H&V, CM, Narcoossee's, and some I know I'm forgetting! Oh, we waited about 30 minutes for the Lilo & Stitch breakfast at Ohana. Still worth it! HTH

We had ADRs for Boatwrights last October. Got there and checked in about 20 minutes early and because we kept getting bumped down the list from people arriving late for their ADRs (their ADR times were before us which is why we kept getting bumped down the list). We left after almost 45-50 minutes after our ADR time and headed to the food court. Turned out to be a blessing in disguise since we were immediately able to get our food and feed two very hungry kids and four hungry, and annoyed, adults. My breaking time depends on what time it is, how hungry everyone is, and if this is a meal that we all really want to try or not.

The only really long wait we had was about 1hour at Le Cellier last year, but a)it was December, so I think they had the candlelight processional masses, b)we were two people c)it was a 7pm ressie.

THe only time we really ever waited was at Crystal Palace last August, a little over an hour for our dinner. I ended up getting the kids popcorn to munch while they waited so it was no biggie, we hung out and actually got some really great pictures with the photopass guy who was hanging around CP, I actually use one of the pictures we did that night as my avatar. Everywhere else we just waited a few minutes, we usually get there early so we probable got in at our actual time. Its Disney I don't really care if I wait, its better than cooking and cleaning up anyday!!!

We waited for Ohana last year for almost 30 minutes past our ADR time, and I was pretty unhappy (which is part of the reason we aren't eating there in September). Unfortunately, the CM who checked us in told us our wait would only be 10 minutes or so, and we just ended up being stuck waiting once we realized that it was turning out to be a lot longer than 10 minutes. Doubly unfortunate was that the meal wasn't really that impressive and we were completely ignored by our server.

Other than that one experience, we've never had to wait more than 5 minutes past our ADRs (though since we're going in September during free dining, I may be eating my words - LOL).

We have never waited more than 15 minutes at the most, but we make our ADRs for one of the first opening slots so we don't have to wait. Most of the time we arrive 15 to 30 minutes before our ADR and are sometimes seated early, except at Chef Mickeys and we still didn't wait long.

our party of four showed up 1 hour early for our 6:30 ADR at Chef Mickeys. They told us we would be seated close to our time so we gave the kids some money for the arcade and we went in to the lounge next to the restaurant. Our pager went off before we could order a drink or the kids had a chance to get change. The longest we waited all week was 20 minutes at Tappen Ido for 8pm ADRs

We usually get seated right away, but if there was ever a wait, it wasn't more than 5 minutes anywhere (with the exception of Boma.....maybe waited 10 minutes :rolleyes1)....and that includes being there for free dining 2 times. On our last trip in September we actually checked in at Kona 45 minutes before our ADR time (we were going to walk around the Poly) and we were seated 5 minutes after checking in :). We always get ADRs around 5:00-5:30, so maybe we get in before the dinner rush, I don't know :confused3. But I do know we have never experienced long wait times :cutie:.

Our worst experience with waiting was the Whispering Canyon Cafe. We were only a table of 4, but we waited for nearly an hour past our ADR. We were really unhappy. This place was crazy with all the antics. We enjoy a good laugh, but it felt like the antics come before service, and customer satisfaction. We'll never go again.

ps...there were two other families of 4 waiting with us. We felt forgotten.

and our ADR was for 8:30pm!:scared1:

DH and I were fine, we had some tasty adult beverages while waiting. (love those glowtini's). DS, not so much, he fell asleep at the table and there was no waking him! DD mad our like a bandit, she had her salmon, DS's mac-n-cheese and his dessert! (she tried for mine too, but I had DS's fork to defend with!!!) All that and she's still 20 pounds lighter than she should be, I swear that girl has a hollow leg! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Not sure if we would wait that long for every restaurant, but we love PT!

We waited about an hour past our ADR time in late January for Jiko -- and then ended up with a server who acted like we should just be lucky we were eating there at all. We also waited nearly an hour after our ADR time a couple years ago for our LeCellier dinner.

It's really put us off having dinner at WDW.

We might grab breakfast now or lunch at the World, but we generally make other off-site plans for our dinners, and that has worked out much better for us.

We waited over an hour at Ohana once a few years ago, and we waited close to an hour at Boma once. Both times were around mid-December.

I'm concerned about a long wait at Ohana again when we go in 3 weeks, because we have a 9:30 reservation & the MK fireworks are at 10. I fear people with earlier ADRs will linger to watch, and we won't get in until after the fireworks.

If you are going during free dining you will definitely experience waits for your ADRs. I think that we waited at least 30 minutes if not longer last year at Crystal Palace and 50s Prime Time. We have always had to wait for a table at CP every single year and there is a mob of people standing outside along with you. All of our trips have been during free dining so I'm not sure if the waits aren't as bad other times of the year.

We have waited 20-30 minutes past our ADR time at Coral Reef and Chef Mickey's.

The worst was 45 minutes past our ADR at Crystal Palace for dinner last year. A child had gotten sick and they had to take 5 tables out of service while they cleaned it up. :scared: The manager was very sweet and gave everyone in our party a Fast Pass to use after dinner.

I have never just given up on an ADR.

Last trip we waited waaay too long for mediocre food IMO at many restaurants- this trip, we will not wait that long (live and learn) and if it goes past 20 mins, we will leave and have CS.

Here's our worst ADR wait times from last October (supposedly a lower crowd month)
*45 mins CRT (we will wait again for this one only- DD would be devestated if we didn't.
*45 mins H&V completely NOT worth the wait
*55 mins LTT also completely NOT worth the wait

We are a family of 7 I think the most we wait is 2o min's. We are always there the last two weeks in Aug.

I guess we've been lucky, we have never had to wait more than 10-15 minutes from our ADR time

On our honeymoon, we waited over an hour for O'Hana's for breakfast. This was the second week of Feb 2005. Once we were seated we realized what took so long. They had given us a table with a perfect view of the castle and had Mickey confetti on our table.
