:guilty: she had a tumour growing for about 4 weeks, but it had started to take over her entire leg and back. We have decided that she is going to be better off if we have her put to sleep, we had thought about surgery but the vet said that she probably wouldn't wake up from it.

DMIL has agreed to take her as I can't cope with it at the moment, I have severe pregnancy hormones raging and was in tears watching Blue Peter the other day!

Any spare hugs going? :sad2:

:grouphug: awww sorry about your poor hamster, the vet is quite right they just cannot tolerate anaesthetics so you have made the right choice
:grouphug:

Oh lots and lots of :grouphug: coming your way.

If its any consolation, you've done the right thing.

Sorry to hear your bad news Gems.

Sending :grouphug:'s for you and DH.

Ahh that's sad. I like hamsters they are cute my kids had several over the years.

Here's another hug for you. :grouphug: Why do you grab a box of tissues and go and watch a suitably soppy film on your own and have a good blub. You'll be surprised how it helps and then if anyone asks why you are crying you can always blame the film. :teeth:

Awww, Im sorry. those little creatures really grow on you don't they? My DD12 raises gerbils and we have a few in our pet cemetary (aka: the backyard). It's okay to feel bad; this is a very sad time. You did the right thing.

So sorry, big hugs from me.

I had my hamster put to sleep last year due to have pnuemonia. So so sad. Poor little thing.

You did the right thing.

Sorry to hear about your hammy, Gems. It is very sad when it happens; I remember when we had the same situation with our hamster.

You have done the best thing you could for your friend :)

So sorry to hear this Gems, I had to have Vicki's hamster put to sleep this time last year for the exact same thing. I know how you feel, lots and lots of hugs to you. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

So sorry to hear about the Hammy - they are such lovely pets. But you have done the best thing, the kindest thing, so be at peace with yourself.

Here's a HUGE huge :grouphug: from all of use here cos sadly we know what it's like.

So sorry to hear bout your hamster! The same exact thing happened to our guinea pig, except the tumor was in her tummy. It never gets an easier to lose any pet.

:grouphug:

What is your hamster's name? My piggie, Gertie Leigh, will welcome her over the rainbow bridge. :goodvibes

Awwwww, I know how you feel. Both DH and I were upset for days when our Hammie passed away begin of this year.

Lots of hugs

Mandabella - Hams name was Stitch - she was so cute, I had taken her in as a rescue ham in November last year, and she would have only been about a year old now.

Its a good job that I have got Fraggle my cat to keep me company! He was looking for the tank in the lounge yesterday too, I think he knows that something is different - they used to spend hours tormenting one and other but I think Ham secretly liked Fraggles "stalking"!!

Thanks for the hugs you guys - you are great! :flower:

:grouphug: Sorry to hear about that Gemma. Its always sad to loose a pet :grouphug:

Sorry to hear about little Stitch. I'm hammy mad, I've got three rescue hamsters at the moment. They are adorable. You've definitely done the right thing. I had a very special little hammy for two years. He had a kidney problem, quite common in hammies. I decided to let him undergo an op to try and drain some fluid away. He came round briefly after the op but it was all too much for him and he died. You've done the right thing by putting Stitch out of her suffering. :grouphug:
