I have a DME reservation for my aunt, who is flying in separately to meet me at Disney. At the last minute, she was able to change her flight to an earlier one and she'll arrive at MCO the same time as me. Now she can just come with me in the rental car and doesn't need DME. We arrive in 2 days, so this is a last-minute change.
My question is, should I call and cancel her DME reservation? Or I'm sure we could stop at the DME counter on our way to rental counter, but if there's a line, we won't want to do that. What if she just didn't show up for the bus?

You might as well. I can't say I know what happens if you are a no-show:confused3
I don't imagine it's a big deal, but just in case you could call them and let them know.
I have to do the same for our trip home. We originally weren't keeping the rental car the entire time. After finding a great rate we will now. So I need to cancel DME for sure because they are under the impression that I will be there with my bags to head to the airport for a 7am flight. I don't want anyone to have to go out of their way to come get us at four in the morning if they don't have to!:scared1:

Thanks, Pigletto. That was my thought too...I wouldn't want anyone waiting on her, delaying the bus or anything. But I think I'll wait until we're all actually there and stop by the DME check in counter to tell them. Just in case her plane is delayed...so I don't have to wait around (with kids) and she could take the bus as planned. But if all goes well, we'll stop at the desk and tell them she's coming with me.

You know her flight if different than yours might be delayed so she may still need the ME> I have never canceled any unused ME.

Nothing will happen if you don't cancel. Used to be they set everyone up for it that was flying in whether you needed it or not. I know there have been many times I have not used it and not cancelled. No one is waiting on anyone. The ONLY time I did call was when a late night flight (coming in at 11:30 pm) was delayed in ATL and it was going to be 2 AM before we got in.

That's a really good plan. Then you have a back up plan just in case:)

If you really want to you can cancel it now, but I probably wouldn't - just in case something happens and she does end up needing to take DME.

Don't bother to go to the DME counter to cancel. It's really just a waste of your time and it doesn't matter to them. When going from the airport to the hotel, you aren't assigned a bus - you just check in when you check in and they put you on the next bus for your resort. There's no danger of the holding a bus waiting for your aunt.

Going back to the airport from your hotel is a different story, though. In that case you are assigned a specific bus and you should cancel (although they still won't hold the bus for you if you're late.)
