Have an AP and wonder why you get no notice from Disney about code releases and other specials? I decided to ask.
This is a copy of Disney's response along with my original email, read from the bottom up.

Dear Joshua,

We apologize for any inconvenience that this issue has caused. We do have your address information
in our files. We also show that you have requested that we do not mail to you. This could have been
requested during a call to one of our agents here, or by subscribing to the national do not mail
list, maintained by the Direct Marketing Association.

We would be happy to change your record here, so that you could begin receiving information from us
again, however, if you have subscribed with the DMA, your file would revert back to the do not mail
status, as we work diligently to follow our Guests requests.

Please let us know how you would like us to proceed.

Best regards,

Stephanie

How can I get e-mail updates when Annual Pass resort rates and other Annual Pass specials come out?
I never get e-mail notification and am placed in the position of calling CRO daily and/or checking
various internet sites. I have no problems logging into the annual pass site and have registered my
e-mail with Disney, though not specifically associated with my AP. Please Help.

I found this interesting because I did register with the do not mail list, yet I continue to get the Disney Insider emails along with other Polls and mailings from Disney and have never consciously told them not to mail me.

This is very good information to know. DH and I will eventually be purchasing an AP and will keep this in mind.

As I read this....
my synical side takes over......
I am picturing.........
This "Stephanie" saying in a meeting ..... pleading!...... " Quick.... someone come up with SOME KIND of excuse!!! Please! We have to shut these people up some how!!"

What I find frustrating with the whole AP code thing is the fact that I do get email notification but, it is generally 24-48 hours after the entire world knows, AP holder or not. I have mentioned before that I was one of the FEW that liked the BRP because you could log on to the AP site (provided you actally had an AP or voucher) and snag an AP rate, if available, as I am generally planning a couple of months ahead. I understand the problems that the BRP caused for many and I also understand why Disney succumbed to the complaints and went back to the previous type AP releases. Where I believe the problems will arise, is for the actual AP holders that will NOT get the AP rooms because frenzied folks will snag AP discounts w/o having an AP and, in many cases have no intention of purchasing them. Unless Disney starts to require the AP to book or at least at check-in, many AP holders will be left out.

I'm getting off of the original subject but my point is that even if you get email notification, the frenzy that ensues with the release of these rates will possibly exclude you from obtaining these rates anyway.

Just my little vent.

Cheers,

Schuey
