I am a little worried about getting sick on mission space....I have read you should keep your head still and face forward....My question is,,,does this mean the entire time you are on the ride or just during lift off?

Also, how is rocking rollercoaster? How intense is it...My oldest doesn't like heights and is not real fond of going upside down.. is it along the same line of fire and ice? I've ridden them and they were not too bad....Also how long is the ride?

ladybugz11 - I get motion sick easily. However, I will ride with DD when nobody else will. That said, I rode RNRC with her in Jan. at MGM. NEVER AGAIN - sick as a dog when I got off. :faint: Ruined the rest of my day. It's not a long ride, thank GOD, but it is so fast and turns you upside down, and runs thru corkscrews, etc. I couldn't handle it. Mission Space? yea, right!!!

So what did I do this week while we were there? DD talked me into riding TOT after all these years of saying, No! Well, see above RNRC answer for the answer to that!!!!:faint:

I guess I'll never learn!!

Well, let me say this about that. I am usually the one who has some issues on rides. My son and wife have no issues. On mission space, I had no problems, my wife had to sit down for a few, and my son did not feel right afterwards.

You want to keep your head striaght for the whole ride. You are looking at a monitor the whole time, not much to see around you anyway.

RNR 0-60 in under 4 seconds if you can tell what that is like, quite intense, in the dark right into a loop and a couple of corkscrews, but my whole family loves it. You are in the dark, so you don't know you are going upside down. The ride is only about 2 min. long.

Good luck

My husband and I can't do spinning rides. He actually got sick on the Tea Cups. So no Mission Space for us. My sister in law felt sick for a few hours after it.

We all love Rock N Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror and the other roller coasters. RnR is my very favorite ride. It takes off fast at the beginning, but it isn't bad if you're prepared. I think Space Mountain is a little scarier.

Hi, Ladybugz!

RNR Coaster IS intense, but it's so much fun!! As for the comparison to Fire & Ice, IMO there is none. Fire & Ice is MUCH more intense. I'm the coaster fanatic in the family & I love them all, but I have to do Fire & Ice by myself - DH waits in the line with me & then 'escapes' right before we get on - lol! However, he loves RNRC as much as I do - we do it as many times as we can.

To give you an idea of how your child might feel, the last time we had a big family trip to the world, my niece was around 11 years old & was PETRIFIED of going upside down, but wanted to be 'brave' in front of all of her cousins! :) She went on it with no problems at all! BUT, she did say she didn't want to go on it anymore this trip - she said the take-off was what bothered her - too fast. But, she wasn't shaken up AT ALL when we got off - she was laughing, right along with the rest of us!

As for Misssion Space, just follow the advice you're given. If you keep your head back & don't look away from the screen (for the duration of the ride), you should be fine. My dad is VERY prone to motion sickness & we were very worried about him with this attraction. Believe it or not, it turned out to be his absolute favorite & the only one he requested to go on again!!

Have fun!! :wave2:

Mission Space - keep your head still and back in the headrest, and also don't close your eyes and you'll be fine. In our family of 5, two of us felt uneasy for a few minutes afterwards and the rest of us loved it.

RNR Coaster - you don't feel the height and you can't see it since it's in the dark. The initial acceleration is a blast, and there are a couple of fun corkscrews - it's a very short ride. We all love this ride.

Rock n Roller Coaster - I am normally a big chicken when it comes to roller coasters. My problem is that if I can see them, I will scare myself and never get on. With Disney, since they are all inside, I can't see them, so I can't talk myself out of it. I love RNRC. I must admit I don't like the take off, but remember, that is where the pictures are taken so I try and keep my eyes open. After that is over, I relax and enjoy the rest of the ride. The last time we were there, we rode it a total of 7 times. GREAT!!

Mission Space - I rode this one for the first time in June. With all the warnings and precautions that are replayed over and over before boarding this ride, I almost talked myself out of this one. I am glad that I went through with it. (of course the way I deal with the unknown is to close my eyes) I kept my eyes open and watched the screen. I couldn't tell I was spinning and thought the ride was fun. I did feel kindof funny after it was over for a few minutes, but I drank a Coke and felt better. When we go back I will ride it again, but hopefully will enjoy it more because I know what to expect. My only wish was that they would have returned us to earth instead of leaving us on Mars.

Have fun!:wave2: ::yes::
