I just can't believe how frustrating and inconsistent the CMs are - although pleasant, I don't understand how one CM can pull up your profile in a flash accurately and the other has it so royally screwed up, like you've never been there. :confused3

I received an email last week with the "We've bitten off 40%" and it includes a code number. We currently have reservations for POP using the AAA rate for $101/nt for 9 nights - Mar.7-16th, 2007.
This is the first time I have ever received anything from Disney and being Canadian, I really felt special getting this email!!! We've been going pretty much yearly since married in 1990. About 15 trips.
Anyhow, thought I would see if even for the first night - I could get 40% and if really lucky get a CM to apply it our entire reservation.
Anyhow - a summary of my calls to the telephone #....
Call #1 - I follow the prompts and enter my reservation #. You're calling about what? What does it say on the email. I give her the code number and she now wants a PIN - tells me it's a 3 letter PIN. I tell her there is none on this email - but I have read about the PIN. She tells me nothing she can do. This is getting painfully disappointing already, and this is only Call # 1. After already keying in my reservation confirmation #, she wants to know what dates I want to book - I explain again, I already have a booking. She has great difficulty finding me, wrong address and name of our friends.... I guess we lost our kids too - anyhow, she assures me no discount for me... I already had this corrected when I made my original reservation. She assures me that our info is probably lost with last Oct. computer update... She finds our reservation and still is as confusing as ever. No luck. :headache:
Call #2 - Again follow the prompts, enter my conf.# and tell the CM I have a reservation and want to apply the email code. She pulls me up effortlessly, and finds my kids again, my last visit details etc... But, can't apply the code anywhere. I ask if able to apply the first night of the 7th since this is a date and she responds no... She offers to do dining reserv. So, she gave me the run down for the poly - no openings the whole week of March 12th-16th.
Call #3 - Again follow the prompts, enter my conf. # and get a CM who is able to pull up my reservation immediately. I give the email code and she tells me she can't apply the discount to our POP reservation, but can book the entire stay of 9 nights at SSR in a studio for around $2300. Sounds like a good deal - but we really really want to stay at POP with our friends and just more money than we wanted to spend. So, I am getting warmer!! and the wheels start turning - perhaps a split stay would work.
Encouraged by this news and that other people have called numerous times and finally get a CM to book at least something of what each CM has told you and pull it all together.... HENCE
Call # 4 - Same details explained. i just want to use my code!!!! It's cold here and I need florida sunshine soon!!! She finds all my profile, updates my email... No offers this time... :sad1: I ask, can the code be applied to the first night and she says yes - but you'll have to check out and check back in the next day and might not be able to keep the same room - she didn't think the $20 off is worth it. I agreed.
So, I think I am getting closer. Geared up again. Hoping I can either find a CM to apply the code to my entire reservation or get a split stay at a mod. or del. or just suck it up and enjoy my AAA rate. :cheer2:

According to others there is a specific number to call on the postcards/emails that is not 18008280228 and is not the wdisney number either. At this phone number it asks you in the prompts to enter your pin number...which should be on your email. (i really need sticky power to put up a thread with my definitions/discussions of the terms pin, code, and pin code.) These cm's seem better trained on handling this deal (per recent posts). They should know better what you are talking about. Emails are sent out with a pin but not with a code. You have to have the pin to gain access to the code....they have the code. (HMMM maybe i need to send my sticky to them as well).

Maybe I lost sight of you discussing this on your post if I did i'm sorry. I did notice you were talking about code available on first night and split stay.

Since you only have to check in within the dates did you check to see how many of the nights it was available? maybe it might be available for march 7-12th or something....maybe there will be enough nights to make it worthwile..

While your check-date is indeed at the very 'end date' of one of the ranges there are a few caveots that apply with this deal...

Rooms at these rates are limited. You may be able to book a room at standard rate but not at these rates during that week. ie: The week upto and including March 07 may have no more availability for the discounted rooms.

Given that March is a VERY high traffic period (Peak rates normally) and given how many people from this message board we know of who successfully booked trips with this promo -- it may be that week is just sold out of the discounted rooms.

I think many believe a discount can be applied to what current res they have, or just monies deducted per night.
My guess is you have a package. By using the new code, your old package would have to be cancelled and then rebooked with the package code you wish. (Just my understanding. I could be wrong.)
Or your current res at least modified and a new res booked for the split stay portion. :confused3
It's not like you have a res with code XXX and then want to override that code with code YYY.
That would be much too simple!
Very well may be the room type or resort you want for the time period you are requesting is booked up.
Good luck though. :wave2:

Well, to clarify further.
I made the original reservation through the 1800 # a few weeks ago and straightened my address etc. with the CM and obtained a AAA rate for 9 nights at POP - room only as we already have tickets. Our friends booked the exact same thing.
Here is a copy & paste off my email received Jan.22.
Call 407-939-7822 or book through your Travel Agent by March 15, 2007.
When you call, please mention code XXXXX XXXXX XXXXX.

I was going to use my 1800# but read on this board about having to enter the code number. But, when I called the number each time, there was no prompt to enter this code at all. It only asked me to enter my current reservation confirmation code.
I have read where people were given the prompt to this number - once again, so many inconsistencies. :confused3
I wish that Disney would just allow us the option to book online ourselves and enter user specific or public promo codes etc. and you get automatic acceptance or rejection and a reason why (This promo code does not apply to the requested reservation period) etc.... So many other hotel reservation sites work this way, I don't see why disney can't make it easier for them and us. Vegas hotel websites have mastered this quite well, allowing people to use user specific promo codes. This would avoid alot of unnecessary calls, inconsistencies and frustration.

Now, a system like that would be magical!!! pixiedust:

But, in the sport of job security of the WDW CM - I will call again and hopefully see if another offer of some type is available for my existing reservation or splitting it up.

Part of this is that a Room Only (not booked by internet) is CRO.
A package is WDTC.
I am also guessing some people are calling different numbers than others, and pressing different prompts. (Even when making ADRs there are prompts...)
Not to mention there are various agents working Dis Reservations, and not all are CMs.
Then you have the differnet systems in the mix.
No wonder all the varying stories!

A one size fits all system would be great -- and maybe some day... But most vacation places don't sell rooms, packages, various tickets, entertainment tickets, componenets, air, car rentals, dining, yada, yada, yada...
