Have ADR for 8ppl, now only have 5ppl - Advice?

I have ADR's for Crystal Palace for 8 people. One of the families of 3 are now doing something else. What's my best option? Do I just show up with 5 people that day and hope they honor the reservation? There are no reservations available for 5 people, so I do not want to call and try and change the reservation for fear of me losing the reservation altogether. But I do not want to (a) show up with less and risk not being seated and (b) be the type of person to hog up 3 reservation spots that I do not need. Any advice?

Don't worry; it happens all of the time. Just tell them when you check in that you are only 5. On our last large group vacation, we had 3 come down with a horrible flu and they missed several of our meals, including Crystal Palace. It wasn't a problem anywhere.

If you show up with less it will be fine.

THey understand people get sick, or can't make it, so it isn't an issue.
