Have a Photopass Question? Ask me!

Also, I did the Dopey in January and you had to buy each race separate, you couldn't get one CD with all the pics unless it was the top package that had a bunch of added merchandise. Is this Photopass or do they use Marathon photo?

That is Marathon Photo. Photopass/Memory Maker is during normal park hours, and I would assume the Halloween and Christmas hard ticket events, too (I guess, I've never been to them)

I've seen a few decent ones but it's a really tough shot to pull off.

Thanks ChanaC. I might have to keep a lookout for the one in AK, to see if we could get a picture with the frame like I see it in my mind. Because ours turned out like the one I posted at MK and our Epcot ones were just like the bad example that you posted.

We had pp+ last summer and the shot of us overlooking Everest with the frame is one of my favorites from the trip. :thumbsup2After seeing some of the awkward ones posted here I can see why some aren't happy with them, but don't give up on them. It can be really cute!

Thank you so much ChanaC for starting this thread!! There is so much great info and I really appreciate it!!:cheer2:

Can you tell me if there is a photo pass photographer inside the Enchanted Tale with Belle? If so, do they usually take one picture of the child with Belle?

Thank you!!

We were there in February 2014, and the only pictures the Disney Photographer took were those of the people who participated in the "role playing" during the presentation.

Yes, if you want your kid (or you ... yes, adults can volunteer, I did) to have a picture with Belle, they *HAVE TO* either be picked for a part or volunteer to be flatware after the other parts are handed out.

Yes there is. They take pictures of all the kids (and adults) who participate in the show as its going on. Then everyone can get a picture or two with Belle. After they hand out a special photopass card with everyone's photos. You have to go to a view station (it can be in any park) and they will go through the photos with you and pick out your pictures. Those can then be added to your photopass card or magic band. The same is true for the Jedi Training Academy and the Captain Jack Pirate Tutorial. It's really easy to do.

Do you have to go to a photo viewing station or can you just add the photopass card to your memory maker account? I know that it would have everyone else's photos as well, but if you don't have time to make it to the park photo viewing station.

I'm pretty sure you can (I'm not positive about everything online) but remember you would "add" the Belle card and delete 90% of the photos since they aren't yours. If there is no line, we can do it in the view station in 5 minutes or less.

By the way, the best times to go to the view stations are in the middle of the day. Avoid them first thing in the morning or directly after fireworks/parades. There are view stations in all four parks, in the water parks (during the summer), Downtown Disney (in guest relations, behind Ghirardelli in Marketplace) and some resorts. They are:

- Animal Kingdom Lodge (third floor, on the right by the gift shop)
- Grand Floridian (second floor, on the right, also by the gift shop and monorail entrance)
- Polynesian (second floor, on the right, also next to a gift shop and monorail entrance)
- Yacht Club (first floor, I think on the left...)

The resort stations are only staffed in the morning and evening.

Also, while looking for photos in the view station, remember to give the photos about an hour or two to upload. I get people who are upset they can't see their photos even though they only took it 15 minutes before they walk in. If you finish a Belle show, wait a few hours before going to the view station. Also, it usually takes between 4-5 hours (from what I'm told) to see the photos online.

I know the conversation has dried up a bit since last week, so as I reminder I also spend 50% of my time with characters so if you have questions about where to find them, what their lines are like, or anything else just ask.

Also, I know the secret to seeing Anna and Elsa and NOT waiting five hours to see them....

how many pics do i need to have taken to make the memory maker "worth it?" as in, cheaper than buying individual pics rights?

Individual pictures are $15, so 10 pictures. ]]]

i'm sorry if this has been asked or answered or both, just scanned through all the post but want to double check.

---i just came in january, and we would take a photo and they would scan the magic band afterwards. I probably purchased 8 pics at $15 a piece, so $120 -but you got two copies of each.
We are coming in october. Do i need photopass or magic maker??? I know at the run disney expo they offered $30.00 off last time, good deal???

--- as mentioned earlier, we never had a card, they just scanned the magic band. Is the card used if you don't have the magic band????

---if we plan on ordering 10 or more pictures, it's a no brainer, correct????

--- was the areas listed that have photopass photographers and those special magic pics (sorry, forgot the name)????

--- didn't i read that you have to purchase the photopass or magic maker early, cause once purchased photos taken within three days will not show up???

--- and any other useful info you disney pros may have.

Thanks everyone and especially the one who started this thread!!!!!

anything on this or anything new?

Not really. You can still use your magic band to collect photos even if you don't have memory maker. Buying MM is totally up to you.

Here are a few questions for you:
- How many day are you staying
- Do you usually stop and take pictures? How much?
- Are you planning on meeting characters? How many?
- Are you traveling with kids who like meeting characters and taking pictures?
- Do you go on a lot of rides?
- Do you usually go to character dining restaurants or dinner shows?

If you answer "yes" or "a lot" to most of the questions, then it might be a good idea. Plan on getting 3 icon pictures a day. Try each icon (the castle, Spaceship Earth, Mickey Hat, Tree of Life) in the morning and at night as well as one extra secondary icon (Main Street train station, Eiffel Tower in France, Tower of Terror, Mt. Everest). Also try and meet 2-3 characters a day.

I would say a good photographer takes about 5 pictures in each character interaction and 3 pics in each icon. So 5 pics per character times three characters equals 15 pics, and 3 pics per icon times three icons equals 9 pics. That's 24 pics a day. If you go to every park, one per day, you end up with 96 photos. That equals to about $2 a photo. Yes, that was a lot of math but it gives you a good equation to work with. That doesn't even include ride or dining photos. If you make sure to get the photos it can be worth it.

Oh no, those are sold out until June. Seriously, don't show up in the park and expect to get them. As of now, Anna and Elsa (and Aurora)'s line is advertised from opening to 5:00. The truth is that the line doesn't close until 7:00. So you can get in line at 6:55. I have been told the line is only 45ish minutes long at that point. Now things may change as the summer comes and the park gets really busy, but that is what I have been told for now.

That is pretty much what everyone is reporting. But my question is, are they guaranteed to be there when it only shows Aurora and a Visiting Princess. Or are folks just getting lucky thus far?

Not positive, but I think Anna and Elsa are scheduled until 7:00. I know Princess Fairy Tale Hall can be open until the park closes, which can be late, so I'm not sure what happens after them.
