Have a Photopass Question? Ask me!

This might seem a simple question, but I just want to make sure before I order MM.

You get the digital rights to down load and share. Do you also get rights to print at Walgreens or Target? How about using them in a Shutterfly album? Or do you have to order hard copies and books thru the PhotoPass website?

Thanks!

Yes, yes, and yes. Once you download the photos they are yours to do whatever you want with them. You don't need to order hard copies.

You should get a release statement with your order. It used to be a piece of paper in the CD case as well as a digital copy on the CD (not sure if it's only digital now that you don't get the CD with your pictures on it). I've had Photopass pictures printed at Walmart and they have always required a copy of this release before giving me the printed pictures (I usually submit my photos online and just included the digital copy of the release with my order). Once they have it on file I think it's good for a year (I just have to tell them I have it on file). After that I would just have to resubmit it. I'm assuming other places (Target, Walgreens, etc.) do something similar. My son did a digital scrapbook at Snapfish (or maybe Shutterfly -- can't remember) and also had to include the digital copy of the release with his order.

Hi There,

I'm hoping some one can help me with a Memory Maker issue I'm having. Forgive me, I haven't had time to read through the entire thread, so feel free to redirect me to a prior post if necessary. Let me see if I can explain this without writing a novel....So we traveled to WDW from 4-30 to 5-7. We were joined by another family (their first visitpixiedust:) We decided to share the costs of the Memory Maker. I added it to our account well before our vacation. I linked the other family to my account so that while in Disney they could use their magic bands to add photos. Worked great!

Now it is time to download the photos. I have gone in and made edits, added borders, etc to those pics of my family specifically and my friend has gone in and done the same from her MyDisneyExperience account. However, I cannot see the changes she has made. Is it not possible for linked members to make edits to the photos? I assumed since I had included her on my "friends and family" list that she would be able to edit and save the photos and then I could download them.

Any help would be great appreciated!! Thanks!
-Kelly

That is a weird. I'm not an expert on the website and have only played around with my photos, which are not linked to anyone else. I would call the help number and ask them. Sorry, that's all I know!

Edits only work in the account the edit it was made in. You won't see edits she made in her account or vice versa.

There's no way to transfer those edits either.

Thanks for the reply. I will update this group when I got the information.

Thanks for the info. That is what I was afraid of. That's a real bummer and must be causing many people headaches since so many groups share costs of Memory Maker!:headache:

This was the piece I was missing! Thank you for your response!

Here is a Memory Maker question. We are three rooms going this trip. i bought Memory Maker - does that man only my Magic Band has t? I see I can link cards, so should everyone else use a PhotoPass card?

No, if you link your bands together anyone can get their band scanned.

Chana C. Is there any tips you could give on the meet and greet with Jack and Sally from Nightmare B4 Xmas, we are going to be at MNSSHP and have heard that they are supposed to be there, but also sometimes at HS.....

Good question but unfortunately I don't know much. I know that one year (I can't remember if it was last Halloween or the one before), they were meeting at Downtown Disney and had a massive 3 hour line. To be honest I'm not even sure if they do meet and greets. I think the reason the line was so long was because they only meet in California and not here which is why there was such a big deal. I don't work in Magic Kingdom so I'm not too familiar with what happens over there, especially during special events. Sorry!

Last year was their first year at the party. Their line stayed consistently long all evening (though I felt it went down a little during the parades). One suggestion would be to line up before they start for the evening, and get them out of the way then

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! for this discussion!!! Reading this has cleared up so many questions for me!

Great tips! Any suggestions for a camera shy kid??

Bring an autograph book so he or she can do something besides just taking a picture with the character. I've also seen people bring pillow cases and picture frames to get signed also. Give them something to do besides just saying hi to the characters.

For non-character pictures, maybe show him/her some of the magic shots so they can get excited for taking pictures. Not every photographer can do the magic shots or has time to during busy hours but it will be special when they do get one. Don't show them everything though. I like to make the magic shot a surprise so it's a little but of a let down when I get the kid in the position and they say something like, "Oh, I know what this is going to be! It'll be Stitch!" There are some new ones coming out soon so some of them will be a surprise for everyone.

Our trip was last month. No trouble accessing the photos we scanned our band for. Then I remembered the extra cards we got from JTA and ETWB. Did we need to add those to our band while still in the park? Or can I access them from home? The card says to go to mydisneyphotopass.com and enter the code at "registration" but when I go to the site there's no place to enter the code- it just wants me to log into my Disney account.

Hit the claim photos button once you're logged into the account. It'll ask you for any PhotoPass ids you may have.
