Will we be able to make our PS easily by taking the boat or would bus be better in the early a.m. hours? Thanks!

the boat, just like the busses, start running 1 hour before MK is scheduled to open. keep in mind that if MK is to open an hour early for EMH, the busses and boats will start running an hour earlier than that.

It is not EMH that morning. Sounds like we will not make our PSs in time?! One hour before is 8 a.m. and the boat takes more than 5 minutes ... can anyone give me advice for alternate plans? Should we take a taxi to the MK entrance? This is not good news!

just found this info - note it says that there are special busses that run earlier specifically for those with PS's before park opening.

"Disney Bus service will begin 1 hour prior to the park opening time listed for that day. Bus service for Character Breakfasts will begin ½ hour before the earliest seating. The marquee on the bus will read "Character Breakfast." It should be noted that guests should verify with the driver which park the bus is going to for the character breakfast because there are different ones for different parks. "

hope this helps

Take the bus to the TTC.

I've had 8:05 PS at the MK twice on mornings when it hasn't been an EMH. First time we took the bus to the TTC then the monorail- that worked great.

Second time, we had some Pixie Dust sprinkled on us and actually had WL to MK curb side service. When we got on the TTC bus at the WL, there was another family already on (got on at FW). They were headed to the CR for Chef Mickey's b-fast. The bus took them all the way there and when I mentioned my confusion (about the bus stopping at the CR rather than the TTC) to the bus driver and I said that my DD and I jwould just get out and walk (short 10 min walk)- he said that he would just drop us off as he had time. Totally awesome! We ended up at the MK gates at 7:40. Had to wait until 8:00 am before they let any of the PSers in. Apparently the restaurants (Castle and CP) radio the front gate when they are set to open- until the front gatekeepers get the 'all clear'- nobody gets let in.

So, short of it- plan to take the TTC bus from the WL. I think we were out in front of the WL at 7:20 for the bus.

Have fun! We love the CP breakfast!!

So if I have a 8:05 PS for CP the earliest I can get in is 8:00? That doesn't leave you much time to get to the restaurant. I kinda wanted to take a few minutes to get some pictures of the castle and such on the way.

I wouldn't worry too much about taking a couple pics. I bet there will be a number of 8:05 PSs given out and so there will be a line waiting to check in. As long as you aren't in a super rush to finish eating I think it will be fine. We had the first seating for dinner at CP in December and that's how it was - long line to check in and then the restaurant itself opened about 5 minutes late anyway.

I made the PS for CP breakfast for several reasons, mainly so I could see Pooh. I also wanted to be able to get in early to the parks and see how it looked without hoards of people and get a few pictures. I also wanted to be able to get through eating before the park opened so we could get a good place at the rope drop. You think this is doable?

Speaking with my experince with 8:05 PS- it really is great to get to the park before opening and have a fairly empty Main Street.

I made the mistake once of doing an early seating at the character breakfast (Donald's Restaurantosaurus) over at the AK with the intention of getting out just prior to park opening at 9:00. I totally ruined my dining experience because I was stressed out over the time- waiting in the buffet line, waiting for the characters, waiting for the check etc- that I really didn't enjoy the breakfast and characters.

I would think focus on one or the other. If pics are what you want- take a leisurely stroll from the main gate to CP. The above poster is correct- there will be a line and you will still get seated even if you show up at 8:15 for a 8:05 PS. If finishing by 9:00 is more important, then forget the pics and make a bee line for CP so you are at the front of the line.

I love the b-fast at CP and DD and I were there for at least an hour if not a tad more.

Have fun!

we stayed at VWL in November and had a PS for 8:10 at Chef Mickeys at CR. I called the front desk the night before and asked what time the boats started running and I don't remember exactly what they said but I do remember it being plenty of early enough for us to get there on time. I don't know if it would be different if you were going to the MK.

what you can also do(we did this at pop), we had a PS at kona's, a magic kingdom bus came at pop around 6:45 am, the driver asked where we were going, we stated to kona's for breakfast(and the driver took us and another family(who were going to ohana's) right to the Polynesian, no stops. they told us at the front desk to the pop that this is what they do normally.
:flower1:

Take the bus to the TTC and then the resort monorail to the MK. The regualr monorail probably won't be running that early.

OK, there is a lot of misleading information here.

I have stayed at WL, and I have had a early PS at MK. It is very easy to get there.

The BLUE launch boat (small) runs 7 am - 10 pm every day. Take this to the CR, then monorail or walk to the MK. The CM's will direct you to the early PS entry. Door to door, this took us abt 40 minutes (including the stop for pictures we made.)

Another alternative is to take the TTC from WL, then monorail to MK. I have not personally done this, but have friends who have.

Not too bad Kim :teeth: We actually start the "Blues" at 6:45. Normally we'll have a launch at FW and one at WL making round trips to CR (however, if a guest wants to go WL/FW or vise versa we make adjustments). We usually do that until the cruisers to MK start running -- 1/2 hr before park opening.

Will this character meal bus run at every resort? We have an 8:05 PS at Cindy's on 4/19 and we're staying at AKL. It's probably not an EMH morning (though who knows) so the MK won't open till 9. I didn't realize that the MK buses wouldn't start till 8. Do we have to request this character bus or will it just come? Also, how often does it come? I don't want to get to the AKL bus stop at 7:20 to find out that the character bus only makes one stop there and it was at 7:15 or something like that. Anyone do this from AKL and know?

Cool! We love your little boats! During our Sept stay at CR, dd & I would often just hop on for a ride! *I* think these little boats are one of the best kept secrets at WDW!

I don't know the answer to this. I'd recommend you ask on the transportation brd. Tyler, chip'ndale express, answers a LOT of these questions. He's a WDW bus driver, so he'd give you the best answer!

There is plenty of time to do both, and it was great! We went to 8:05 PS seatings at both CP and CRT, our last trip, and we had plenty of time to do both empty pictures of Main street and the castle, AND be at a great location to be the first into the rest of the park. We just lingered around main street and took our time and once the initial group of PSer's went by, (there weren't very many) we took our family and smaller group pictures with the castle, etc.
