Have 527 Days Until Our Vacation, But I Need Some Disney Magic Now!*22 DAYS TO GO!!!!

That's so funny because I have a countdown on my phone. :lmao: I guess great minds think a like.

yeah they do.. i technically have three disney countdowns, one for the trip with me and my sis, 118 days... one for me and my hunnie, 622 days, and when we can runaway to disney 827 days.. lol

So here are my ideas for the ADR's for the trip.

First of all there is Boma
Really enjoyed it in May and want to do it again.
boma-walt-disney-world.jpg

Next we have 1900 Park Fare
It would be perfect for a girl trip and I hear the food is good.
DSC00947.jpg

Next we have Crystal Palace
Went this year and I think the girls would love the food and seeing Pooh and friends.
DSC09820.jpg

Than we have Akersus Princess Storybook Dinning
I thought the girls would love to see all the princess'
4126121367_42f1e68907_z.jpg

I would love to try breakfast at Ohana
I hear the food is good and you get to see Lilo and Stich
p133297-New_Orleans-Ohana.jpg

I have also heard some great things about the Tusker House Breakfast
And being in the park before everyone else sounds nice.
2920945018_a36b446995.jpg

The ADR at DHS is the one I am not sure of.

I can either do Mama Melrose again.
I know the food is good and would be a nice change.
Bart-Hanlon.jpg

Or I can do Hollywood and Vine
Which is another Character meal but I heard the food isn't that good.
hollywoodvine2.jpg

Both of these are in the Fantasmic! Dinning Plan in which I am hoping to get, but if I change my mind about this I will probably get an ADR for 50's Prime Time Cafe whick looks like alot of fun.
(Sorry, No Picture.)

So tell me what you think.:thumbsup2

So lets get this party started the right way and intoduce the cast of Characters. (snip)
Next is my DD Mia. princess:
113-1.jpg

She is currently 6 years old but will be almost 8 when we go. (snip)

I have been talking to a friend of mine about going with us with her DD and making it an all girls trip. We would share a room making it a little bit cheaper for all of us. Since I haven't talked to her about including her information I will not say to much about her know. All we will say is that she is about my age and would be bringing her DD who will be 9 at the time of our trip.

Well that is it for now! Join us soon on our next instalment when I talk about possible resorts, my plans to save for this trip, and ideas for ADR's.

Until then, Have a Magical Disney Day!!!!:dance3:

We so would have to meet up at least once! DD would be 7 by then I think. :surfweb: and yes, I finally reported in! :rolleyes1

Welcome DisDiva,
I am so glad that I am not the only one who is crazy enough to start planning a trip so far in advance. I must admite that I started planning some things (such as ADR's) back when I was planning my trip with my DS this last May. I was going to wait to start a PTR after I was done with the TR for that trip but find that I am dragging my feet finishing it. I hope that starting this PTR will give me the boost I am looking for.:yay:

I too hope that if I start doing a PTR I can finally do more of my TR. I vowed I wouldn't be one of those people who never finish it.. or took forever... yet look at me. :sad2:

Now be nice you two or no Christmas cookies for you. And since they are Mickey Mouse Snowman Sugar cookies I am sure you want a couple.:rolleyes1

:scared1: Wait a moment, you never said anything about MM sugar cookies!? I so would have been like, sorry dad, going to Corrine's.. she gots cookies! :lmao:

So here are my ideas for the ADR's for the trip.

First of all there is Boma (snip)

You liked it, so why NOT repeat it!

Next we have 1900 Park Fare
It would be perfect for a girl trip and I hear the food is good.

If you make sure to go when cindy and the sisters are there, it would be the BEST ever. not been myself yet, but still have it as a future goal.

Next we have Crystal Palace
Went this year and I think the girls would love the food and seeing Pooh and friends.

Yeah, that was a decent one. (I didn't care for the food at lunch... but I am a plain eater.) and who doesn't love Tigger!?

Than we have Akersus Princess Storybook Dinning
I thought the girls would love to see all the princess'

Never been to this one either, but may I make another princess suggestion? pre-rope drop ADR for breakfast in the castle(MK)? A photo is included, of whomever you wish with Cindy, delivered at the end of your meal. The food is GREAT, comes pre-plated nice and hot. (you can also special order pretty easily. like no onions etc.) you see the princesses, and get wands/swords and a wishing star. This has been priceless each time with DD. and let me tell you again.. that food is AWESOME! :cloud9: Now I am hungry! Oh, and of course the pictures of yall in front of the castle with little to no crowd behind you = priceless!

I would love to try breakfast at Ohana
I hear the food is good and you get to see Lilo and Stich

Oh.. have I not gotten to Ohana breakfast in my trip report yet? :confused3 It is also one of the best meals I had there. and DD loved getting the lei's. She ended up talking the CM's into like 5 of them for her, and two for her stitch.

I have also heard some great things about the Tusker House Breakfast
And being in the park before everyone else sounds nice.

Never been so have no opinion.

The ADR at DHS is the one I am not sure of.

I can either do Mama Melrose again.
I know the food is good and would be a nice change.
Not been....

Or I can do Hollywood and Vine
Which is another Character meal but I heard the food isn't that good.

Are you kidding me!?! That one is now top of my list! the food was awesome! that smoothed chicken was sooo good. DD had pleanty of options she liked, we both got stuffed. My only thing about the play n dine is the question of if the girls would still be -into- the characters. They are the disney JR (aka playhouse disney) toons like handy manny, and agent oso. DD loved them this year, but I am concerned she will feel 'too old' for them next time. (oh well baby, dada loved the food!) But this was a lunch, not a dinner... I thought dinner wasn't a character meal? :confused3

I've been to 50's prime time. if kids like good natured ribbing and 'getting in trouble' it is the greatest. the food is good, and the waitresses are fun. But if they are like me, or my daughter... we just don't handle it well and isn't fun but torture for us. :confused3 I still remember how upset I was for being told I was eating my corn on the cob the wrong way as a young girl. (type writer style vs round and round we go.) over a decade later and I still don't like how it made me feel. But I am like my girl in not finding that fun or funny. :confused3

Did you not look at Sci-Fi dine in? I know that may seem less girly, but my DD loved it. (would have loved it more if I wasn't a bad dad and let her dry out before going in... :guilty: ) and the food was good. even better for lunch as they have these great burgers then! I mean, this was the ADR I originally gave up a chef mickey dinner time for! but then again, I loved the drive ins, and loved pretending I was at a real one again. just the idea of having that make believe time with my girl makes me smile!

Epcot? have you thought about garden grill? They have the main toons, and it is awesome good food! (esp if you like fresh veggies and such!)

Do you have any plans to do something like BBB with them? DD loved that! Even with how much she dislikes her hair done, she was so happy and excited with that one! (and then for us to have gone from BBB in the castle, over to eat breakfast with the princesses right across the hallway.. that was great! could also do it the other way, eat first, princessed after. :confused3

:hippie: Please forgive all mispellings, typos and just plain random missing or strange word replacements. I have been awake over 26 hours now and thus typing on autopiloit... now if only I could SHUT THE BRAIN DOWN! I could sleep...

Welcome Singledad, so glad you found us.:banana::banana:

We so would have to meet up at least once! DD would be 7 by then I think. :surfweb: and yes, I finally reported in! :rolleyes1

You know if we there at the same time we will have to meet up at some time. I can't go to Disney with out seeing my Disney Brother and Niece.:rotfl2:

I too hope that if I start doing a PTR I can finally do more of my TR. I vowed I wouldn't be one of those people who never finish it.. or took forever... yet look at me. :sad2:

I hope you do. It really helps with the Disney Duldrums. I am a glad you decided to wait, I think you will be much happier with a longer stay that you are not scrapping pennies together to afford. You can alway put extra money on taxes this year on to DGC's for the years trip.:thumbsup2

:scared1: Wait a moment, you never said anything about MM sugar cookies!? I so would have been like, sorry dad, going to Corrine's.. she gots cookies! :lmao:

Sorry Bro, I should have known that would get you over here. I promise to make some for you and your DD the next time you come out.:goodvibes

About Cindy's Meal. I would love to try it sometime but I really don't want to use to Credits on one meal. But than again I have to discuss all the options with my friend. As for Akushas, they also include a picture with the meal but it is with Belle so that is why I was thinking of it. I was also thinking about doing a Breakfast at CP to get in the park early but we are already doing two breakfasts.:confused3

I think that we would be ok with it as long as I explained to the girls that it was all in fun and not meant to be mean.

Did you not look at Sci-Fi dine in? I know that may seem less girly, but my DD loved it. (would have loved it more if I wasn't a bad dad and let her dry out before going in... :guilty: ) and the food was good. even better for lunch as they have these great burgers then! We went here for our Wish trip in 2009. I got the angus burger and the kids got the pasta with meat sauce. Very good food and good atmosphere. A little wierd for a larger family to sit all facing on way. It is an option but since we already did I was thinking something diffrent. But I have to sit down with every one to figure these things out.

Epcot? have you thought about garden grill? They have the main toons, and it is awesome good food! (esp if you like fresh veggies and such!)

I know that is another one I am looking at. But I am trying to get so many things into our trip and I can't do it all. Plus me and the other mom already agreed that 1 table service a day was good. Don't want to plan our days around multiple ADR's.:headache:

Do you have any plans to do something like BBB with them? DD loved that! Even with how much she dislikes her hair done, she was so happy and excited with that one! (and then for us to have gone from BBB in the castle, over to eat breakfast with the princesses right across the hallway.. that was great! could also do it the other way, eat first, princessed after. :confused3

I totally forgot about BBB. I definatly want to do it. Hopefully the girls will still be into it. Will try to plan that into budget even the other mom isn't going to do it for her DD. I think Mia would love it.

On my way to see the update of your TR.:)

i can tell you from excprience the 50's primetime cafe is alot of fun!! its been years since i went there.. but i remember it so well.. they will yell at you for things as elbows on the time...etc... and if you dont finish your meal.. they bring "mama" out of the kitchen.. its funny.. they yelled at my mom.. it was so funny!!

i did like the sci-fi cafe too.. its really cheesy..

So here are my ideas for the ADR's for the trip.

First of all there is Boma
Really enjoyed it in May and want to do it again.
th_boma-walt-disney-world.jpg

We are trying Boma for the first time, this coming trip. DD #1 picked out all of our ADRs, and this is one that I had in mind too - so I was totally for it. I've heard mixed reviews that the breakfast is better than dinner - but we are going for dinner - and we are not picky eaters, so I am sure it will be wonderful. Any meal that I don't have to cook or clean up - it's wonderful. :lovestruc

[Next we have 1900 Park Fare
It would be perfect for a girl trip and I hear the food is good.
th_DSC00947.jpg

We have never eaten here, I really wanted to squeeze it in, but I just don't think we'll be able to.

[Next we have Crystal Palace
Went this year and I think the girls would love the food and seeing Pooh and friends.
th_DSC09820.jpg

We did breakfast here on our last trip. We are doing the same thing again this time. We love the early entry to the park, the food was great and the characters were wonderful. It's just normal breakfast food, for the most part, but we like that sort of thing - so it's all good to us. :thumbsup2

[Than we have Akersus Princess Storybook Dinning
I thought the girls would love to see all the princess'
th_4126121367_42f1e68907_z.jpg

This is another one that we've always wanted to do, but couldn't squeeze it in this trip. I just need to do another trip, and plan ADRs that we've always wanted to do, but never done. :thumbsup2

[I would love to try breakfast at Ohana

th_p133297-New_Orleans-Ohana.jpg

We did do breakfast here on our last trip, as well. The food was fantastic. Our server was less than steller and was kind of rude that we didn't leave our table until we got to see Stitch. However, we have decided to try O'hana for dinner this time - no characters - but I have heard wonderful things about their dinner food.

[I have also heard some great things about the Tusker House Breakfast
And being in the park before everyone else sounds nice.
th_2920945018_a36b446995.jpg

This was a meal I wanted to do on our last trip, but we never did. So, this time we are doing a breakfast and a lunch ADR here. Although, I have heard some bad reviews on the lunch portion of it... Snotty servers - I still want to go. We are easy to please people - so I can't imagine it being that bad.

[The ADR at DHS is the one I am not sure of.

I can either do Mama Melrose again.

So tell me what you think.:thumbsup2

We did 50's PT last time, and the girls were dying to do it again this time - so it really was, hands down, our first choice for our DHS park day. Although, I would really like to try the sci-fi dine in too, it just wasn't in the cards this trip. :confused3 I wish I knew which park we were gonna go into on our last day, I have a feeling it will be DHS - since we only have one park day there - I would make an ADR for Sci-fi then, but I think we will be better off if we just roll with the punches that day. :rolleyes1

We have never done a F! dinner package, we just cattle call with the rest of 'em, and I've always enjoyed the seats we were able to get.

I think you have some great ADR choices going, and by the time you go - Be Our Guest should be open, and the other new one in MK, as well - so you might want to add those to your list. :thumbsup2

We thought the food there was delicious. Even my slightly picky 9 year old loved it and got at least 2 plate fulls before dessert. Definatly try the ginger carrot soup (so good) and the zebra cakes. :cloud9:

I would make an ADR for it and if you can't make it just call and let them know. We weren't able to make our reservation on our last day in May and had no problem. They were very thankful that we called and told them we were not coming.

We have never done a F! dinner package, we just cattle call with the rest of 'em, and I've always enjoyed the seats we were able to get.

I am just so worried we wouldn't get seats. It was already crowded when we got there this year. But than another show got added so that would have been easier to get into.:confused3

I was just looking at the plans for the expansion yesterday and read about Be Our Guest. Not sure if I want to try it as a TS or a CS. I guess it depends on some reviews. Plus being the new resteraunt it will be the hot ticket.;)

i just cant wait til i can put in my days at work.. ugh.. then its approved.. cant wait

I'm behind. I'll be back later to cast my amazing insight. :lmao:

Thanks for the Christmas Wishes D!!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas this year and spent it with loving family.

So I have some exciting news, well at least to me.

So I go addictied to Orlando Attractions Magazine the show on youtube before our trip in may but haven't watched an episode since our return to our normal lives. Well just recently I go hooked again watching all the Christmas episodes and started watching them all backwards. It was when I was doing this that I can across an episode on July 7th. Episode # 32 I believe. When they came to the part of the show where they do a shout out to all of their fans the first name they say is mine. I think I must have gone back about six times to hear it again. LOL.

More news is that I ordered a new Walt Disney World Book for 2012. Only one since we are not going until 2013, but had to get never the less. :lmao:

That's awesome that you got a shout-out!

Which WDW book did you get? I always get Birnbaum's books each year, but love looking at the other books!

I felt like such a celebrity when I heard my name on my Kindle Fire. I have heard them give out shout outs but never thought I would get one. But than I did comment on one of the episodes that show cased Give Kids the World. Love that place.:goodvibes

I bought the The Complete Walt Disney World 2012. I Love the Birnbaum books as well but didn't think that it would be a lot diffrent from the 2011 one I already have. Maybe I will still buy it later this year or just wait for the 2013 edition.:thumbsup2

Sorry, but this just cracked me up... I am still using my 2002 version of Birnbaums. :rotfl2: Because I can't imagine that it would be that different from the 2012 version. Aaaaand.... I am still using my 2006 Passporter, because I got a crate of them for $1/each when they were on sale a few years ago. :thumbsup2

D~ <---- Who has just realized that she is truly a tightwad. :rolleyes1

You crack me up, D. :lmao: But that is one of the resons I chose the one that I did. I did buy same book I just ordered in 2009 but I think my kids have hijacked it because I can't find it. My four year old loves Mickey and is always stealing my books.:rotfl2: I guess I will have no problem finding a Disney partner in my old age.

What is this, a crate of 2006 Passporter's. I sooooo want one. :hippie:

When we were planning our 2008 trip, Passporter was trying to clean out their "old inventory", so on their website, they ran a special for their 2006 edition at $1/each... So I purchased my max limit of 5, and DH purchased his max limit of 5... Everyone who had any interest in a Disney trip got one for Christmas that year... I still have one of those left. Then, I think it was last year, they were trying to clean house again, and I got a deal on the 2007 version - it wasn't as good of a deal as the 2006 - I wanna say they were $5 each, or something like that... but I think I got 2 of those.

Actually, just for the fun of it - I just went to the Passporter website, and they have the 2010 spiral bound edition on sale for $1/each right now... So, run over there and get yourself a few. I just purchased a couple, so I can have a somewhat-up-to-date edition to read up on... Shipping was a lot more expensive than the books though...

Honestly, I have never read the Unofficial Disney guide - which I should probably read sometime - but I really like the format of the Passporter, and even though mine are out of date - they still have really good info in them.

D~

When I made my Wish list for Christmas I wrote down some books I want to have on my Christmas wish list next year. :lmao: I'm hoping that some of the books will come out in a new edition. I think this might happen especially since the new Fantasyland is opening in 2012.

If the book has a year in the title (such as The Complete Walt Disney World 2012) than they come out with a new book every year. Now that being said the information doesn't change that much except for the the actual changes which should be huge for the next two years with the expansion of FL.:banana::banana:(Can you tell I am excieted about that.) As for the other books, if they like to keep current I am sure there will be new editions such as the Hidden Mickey book. We will both have to keep an eye on these.:thumbsup2
