Hi! We are going to WDW in May 2006 and wanted to check out one of the Universal parks for one day. We are 2 couples in our mid twenties, one of the four of us is not a thrill seeker and won't go on any rollercoasters. Which park Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure is better for us to spend a day at?
Thank you!!

Since there are only 3 coasters I would have a look at the website for each park and see what attracts the 4 of you most. Take away the coasters at IOA and you are still left with plenty to do. May is a beautiful month so you can enjoy all the water rides and attractions too. If you wont be there during a very busy time you might want to consider splitting the day between both parks. They sell a one day 2 park pass at the gate.

On the other hand you may want to see one park only so you can take it slower and enjoy shows as well as rides.

The highlights at IOA would be spiderman, hulk (coaster), Jurassic Park River Adventure, Dudley Ripsaw Falls, Popeyes Bilge Rat Barges, Dr. Doom, Cat in The Hat, Dueling Dragons (coaster) There is more theme detail at IOA but Universal Studios has its charms as well.

At UNiversal the highlights would be Mummy, Shrek, Jimmy Neutron's Blast, Jaws, Men in Black, Make Up Horror Show(lots of fun) Terminator 2 (3-D adventure) Back to the future (I would miss this...LOL) makes me ill.

Its a tough call and one that only the 4 of you can make since you know what you like better than we do but this should give you a taste of whats there.

Will the other 3 do the coasters? I think me personally I would do Universal this time out since you have The Mummy that is new and MIB which is a blast, you could have fun with 2 couples riding together or against each other! Shrek is pretty new also and its great. No water rides though so consider that too.

Have a look at www.universalorlando.com and compare the parks. Either way you will have a great time! :)

why do so many people limit themselves to 1 day at Universal? You seriously need 2 days to see everything at both parks

Thank you for the help. I will check out the web site and pass the info along to my friend and her other half. Thank you for the help. :)
To answer your question, we are choosing to only do one day at Universal b/c we prefer Disney World overall and want to spend as much time at the disney parks as possible. Our friends have never been to Disney and want to see everything there. When discussing our upcoming trip, we all agreed that we would just do one day and pick either Universal or IOA for that one day. I have been to Universal and personally dont think it is as great as Disney World. IOA doesn't appeal to me so I figured I would leave it up to the group...with the advice of the boards! My friend is not into coasters or thrill rides so we made that one of the deciding factors for whoch park we do choose for the 1 day visit. Thanks. :earboy2:

I would split my day in both parks. Since you are not thrill seekers, you can do all the tamer stuff in both parks in 1 day. And since you weren't all that thrilled with US and your friends feel the same, you can always go there first, then switch over to IOA and spend most of your day there.

Thats a good idea-I think we are going to go with your suggestion Disney Dee.
Thanks! :earboy2:
