Haunted mansion using magic bands

Not sure if this has been reported already but last night haunted mansion was using magic bands at the hitchhiking ghost ending to show people's names on tombstones.

The little scenes with the ghosts showing up in your doom buggie are different. We had one where a ghost held up a frame and put our faces on a portrait. People next to us had their names on tombstones.

Yes, this is the latest rollout of Storymaker, which personalizes various experiences for park guests. Pretty neat... maybe kind of creepy

Can you use a nickname on your MDE account? I can count on one hand the number of people who call me by my real name, and I go by my nickname almost exclusively. It would be much cooler to see my nickname on the tombstone...

If they pull the name off your MB, you can personalize it with a nickname. In your MDE account, go to "Personalize Your MagicBand" and you can add your nickname there.

I made my family ride Small World on Sunday and it wasn't working then either. I guess it's random on if it's working? No idea. I was expecting to see personalized messages and didn't see any.
We did HM on Sunday too and no personalization there either.

So in May while my cousins ride the rest of the rides in MK, I will be riding HM over and over and over.... Seriously this makes me so happy!

On the names, though, a few months ago there were threads about these capabilities although they hadn't yet started. Šome reliable folks seemed to say that the names used would be the names in your MDE associated with your tickets, NOT the nicknames you may have used on your MB. I think several folks were joking about some fairly creative nicknames that maybe shouldn't be displayed on a family ride, vs others saying they wouldn't want their real names used on these.

I'm interested to see which names are actually displayed - anyone with separate MDE names vs MB nicknames who has been there the lady few days to see this?

If they pull the name off your MB, you can personalize it with a nickname. In your MDE account, go to "Personalize Your MagicBand" and you can add your nickname there.

If you want to use your nickname, go to the Profile section of MDE and Edit your name there. As @Mikie stated, it's the name in MDE, not the MB customized name that will be projected/used in attractions.

My sister was at the MK on Tuesday and sent me a photo from the end of it's a small world. One screen was saying goodbye to them by name - it was their actual first names, not their band nicknames.

The funny part was that another screen was saying goodbye to my three boys - who were here at school at the time. My sister had their Magic Bands in her bag.

I've been on Small World maybe 10-12 times since they launched the new feature, and it has never been on for me. It seems to be very sporadic
