Any rumors about HMH for this year? Since they're adding the hatbox ghost and really decking things out this year is it possible they won't do the HMH overlay? We're going the first week of November and my kids are nuts for Nightmare Before Christmas, but I'd also like to see the "normal" Haunted Mansion. So, either way, we'll be happy lol.

Given the popularity of HMH, I'd be stunned if they opted not to do the overlay. While adding the Hatbox Ghost is neat, I don't think it's enough of a chance to forgo HMH even for one season.

It's too early (in 'Disneyland time') for any news pertaining to Halloween Time or the Holidays, unfortunately, and there have not been any HMH-specific rumors.

I agree with figment_jii -- I highly doubt that HMH will be skipped this year. That would be unprecedented. It wasn't skipped during the 50th anniversary. It is too integral to Halloween Time (especially to Halloween Time) and to the Holidays, even with the Hatbox Ghost's reemergence. They can work around the Hatbox Ghost when they do the NBC décor. HMH has been at DL every year since 2001, and it would be a shocking turn of events if it didn't return this year!

As it is, the holiday fireworks are being shelved this year, along with the holiday World of Color... and we don't yet know the fate of the Halloween Screams fireworks, Mickey's Halloween Party or A Christmas Fantasy Parade. Even though it's the 60th anniversary and lots of big things are happening, I don't think it would be wise of Disney to skip too, too many seasonal events in one year, especially when their Halloween Time and Holiday seasons are so popular.

I think that a lot of guests head to Disneyland without ever following discussion boards or blogs. So they won't care too much if there is a Hatbox Ghost. They may not have even heard of the Hatbox Ghost. They will just know that they want to see Haunted Mansion Holiday because they have enjoyed it during either Halloween Time or the Holidays! They may not even know or care much about the 60th anniversary. Some folks probably just think in terms of "I want to go to Disneyland for Halloween" or "I want to go to Disneyland for Christmas," and they want all of the things that go along with those seasons, but they don't follow much DLR-related news.

Stay tuned to the Halloween Time at DLR Superthread or to the Disneyland at Christmas/Holiday Season Superthread for details and info as it comes in (even though your trip will fall in between both of those seasons!). If there is news (or rumors) about Haunted Mansion Holiday-related I will post it in those threads (the official info will be posted on both page 1 of the thread and also on whatever the last page is, for discussion). I've posted any rumors that have trickled out thus far, though they were not specific to HMH.
