Haunted Mansion Down?

People on Facebook are saying that Haunted Mansion is down again. They were evacuated during their ride just now. It seems like something must be seriously wrong with the infrastructure of the ride/track. Such a bummer.

Well, it’s speculation, not a conclusion. I guess I thought that was understood since this is an unofficial Disney message board. And my speculation is based on the fact that the ride was just down for several days and is now down again. We all know this isn’t normal for a ride. It indicates that something is going on that isn’t a quick fix. Sources cited: logic???

My understanding of today's issue was that a maintenance door was left open, revealing the backstage to the guests. Probably a pretty easy fix.

The ride was down at park opening, just for those following along. No once really knows why unless you work the attraction itself

Not sure if you read my original post, but if you did, you’d notice that I said it SEEMS that way. Nothing I said is much different from the speculation I’ve seen on plenty of posts and on Facebook. I’d never claim to be an engineer for Disney and I’m pretty sure no one else who has been speculating about the ride for days now is, either. But I guess some people will find anything possible to argue about. Hope your day gets better.

The post that I saw on Facebook was from today. The woman had pictures from when she was leaving the ride and said it had just happened. So it seems to have been up for at least part of the day.
ETA: I looked back at the FB post and comments. The post was from about four hours ago. Another person commented and said it also broke down on them when they rode last night.

There's obviously something majorly wrong with the ride's infrastructure.

I did - You're correct - you did say "it seems like". Isn't that just another way to say that was/is your perception? That was what I was trying to point out. I'm just not sure how you go from "Haunted Mansion is shut down" to "something seriously wrong with the infrastructure" and then "It indicates that something is going on that isn’t a quick fix"?

That's how I perceived your post and is why I posted what I did. I didn't mean any offense by it. I'm sorry if that's how you took it.

Well I for one am hoping that HM is down when I’m there in a few weeks... I’m a total wimp when it comes to ghost/haunted themed things (HM and ToT) and have been terrified of that ride since I was a kid. Growing up we went once a year and I was forced to ride it bc my parents and brothers love it. The love of scary things has apparently been passed on to my own kids. My 7 year old and 2 year old rode it last year with no problems... and I got bullied into riding with them. Sweaty palms and all. Lol. Would love the excuse to skip it this year so I don’t have to look like such a wimp!!

When we went a couple of years ago, it was my first trip in 13 years. We told our (then) 5 and 3 year old that it was more silly ghosts instead of scary ghosts, because that's how I remembered it. The first half of the ride is actually pretty spooky! But my kids fell in love with it anyways, so I got lucky there.

The "HEPA cleanups" haven't been as thorough recently (and yes I am kidding as to this being the reason for the breakdown) - though it always makes me wonder when I ride it.....

Unless you are a CM.. no one will know what actually is wrong with the ride.. , all of these rides are so detailed it's amazing.. I still have my training guide to TOT.., and it amazes me to this day how that ride works..

It shows it being open today with a 55 min wait time currently on the MDE app. I’m going at the end of March. Hope they get it fixed.
