Has anyone heard if they are going to change the Haunted Mansion for Christmas like DL does. I heard this was in their budget, but i didn't know if they would be doing this this christmas or next. Anyone know???

I had heard a rumor that this was less about money than about time... I talked to a CM in March who said that the problem they were having on the NBC Overlay was that it took 4 weeks to do, and that management didn't think they could close the attraction for that long.

Who knows if it's true, but it makes a good story.

So what is the excuse at DL--is it already decorated year round? If not, what do they do to decorate it?

It had been reported on either Screamscape or JimHill, that The Nightmare-overlay would be delayed until next year because Disney did not want anything to overshadow "Stitches Great Escape" set to open in the fall.

I also heard on screamscape that they were going to hold off on it due to Paris wanting it for this year.

Supposedly money from the NBC Haunted Mansion was diverted to Stitch's Great Escape. 2005 is Supposed to be the new target year for WDW.

The rational is that the audience at Disneyland is made up of primarily locals, who won't mind *too* much if a major attraction is closed for over a month, and that the audience at WDW is made up of primarily tourists who will be upset if a major attraction is closed for that length of time.

I didn't say it was logical, just that it was something I heard.
