By the way, I'm pretty sure it WILL be closed. It has been announced that the Mansion is going to be updated to include a big Nightmare Before Christmas theme just in time for the holiday season. Nov. 6-15 would be the perfect time to do this, so it is ready when the Thanksgiving crowds arrive.


And as for jumping on people with few posts, EVERYONE on this board was a new poster at one time or another. No one STARTS with 200+ posts.

TNBC was never planned to be installed at WDW this year. Also it takes far longer than a week to install it. The Haunted Mansion will be closed.

According to the UG, it is scheduled to happen. And it isn't a rehab. It's just decorations. From what I hear, it only takes about a week to set up and take down. Kind of like this:

Why would they do an NBC overlay AFTER Halloween?

And if all they're going to do is toss in a few Jack Skellingtons and not do it up like Disneyland does, I'd rather they didn't bother.

OMG - say it isn't so??? We'll be at DW November 6 - 17th. So, it it closed until the 15th or the 16th? (as a previous poster said)

Please let it be until the 15th. We are planning our second MK day on the 16th so that would work out perfect. I can just spend the whole day at the Haunted Mansion

The UG is wrong. There are no plans for the NBC overlay this year. Additionaly it is far more than simply decorations. Research the holiday overlay at Disneyland and you will see what I mean. A long rehab would be needed at the mansion prior to the first year of the overlay and most of the attractions equipment would need to be updated. The transition takes far longer than a week.

I am sorry that a few had such negative things to say to you when you were posting something you DID read...I checked out the Official WDW UK site and it does say HM will be closed in Nov.

Some have been good enough to apologize.We try to keep the DIS a friendly and welcoming place. I hope this exprience won't dicourage you from returning to the DIS.

I just called and they did confirm it will be closed 11/6-11/15 opening on 11/16.

*sigh* Well, I still don't have hours for my trip, but I guess I know one thing I won't have to pencil in.. We'll be there Nov 6th-15th.. the EXACT days of the rehab. And it's my favorite ride at MK... If they announce that ToT'll be down for my trip........

My apologies to the original poster, as well.

Not long ago, someone registered under 5 different usernames and began a whole thread on many changes that had already taken place at Pirates. New figures that were installed, new effects, even a change in the music. Had quite a few people going. And, that's not the only instance of such a thing. This simply seemed like yet another one of those, someone trolling for a reaction and having fun with people.

I jumped to a conclusion and was wrong. Again, I apologize. In the future, I'll just stay away from these things.

We will be there Nov2-15th... *sighs* I guess I will ride it as much as I can in those first few days. Not mad, just a lil bummed, was planning on it being one of my last rides before we returned. Oh well, every thing needs maintnence or else it wouldn't work.

I'm sorry for those of you who have trips planned during the rehab! That's no fun to have a favorite ride closed for your visit. I'm really sad about the Living Seas being closed for our trip.

I will be even MORE sad if I hear that they really ARE making a temporary home for my soulmate at HM after my trip is over! That would be terrible!

Maybe they don't want folks from the UK to make an international journey and miss HM, so it's on their website. Not such a big deal for us domestic folks, so they don't post it for the US!
