We come to WDW once or twice a year. Back in 2016 our charges to our Magic Bands were double billed, billed once upon check out for the full $1500 amount and then we were sent another $1500 bill erroneously that it was never paid. WDW eventually resolved it on their end.

They did it again, the same thing after our 2018 trip. We paid $1300 in full upon checkout, get home and Yay! We've been double billed AGAIN. But this time they went and sent it to collections. Yes, they were mad I didn't pay for my charges twice and sent it to collections.

We had trips in March and December 2019, not a peep out of WDW. Nothing has come in the mail since 2018. Come back for this trip and now every single day of my trip I'm dealing with this. I have been locked out of my BC every day needing to keep going down to the desk, and my family's MB charging privileges have been revoked. So much fun we're having.

Went down to the front desk and they told me nobody in TWDC has a record of the 2018 stay since they sent it to collections. There's nothing they can do.

Guess I'm happy they've 'revoked' my charging privileges so I don't get DOUBLE billed again for the THIRD time.

Is this a fluke or is this double billing thing somewhat regular practice on their end? I find it very odd they've done it to me twice already now. And I can't forget this is coming out of the dept that was DOUBLE dipping the accounting on their gift cards.

Yep, they (Resorts) don't have any record of WHY they sent my account to collections.

Did you pay in full in cash?
If so I'd say that might be the issue.
At lest if they just bill it to the credit card on file and you let them charge it either at the front desk or automatically after check out then you have a record of it.
I simply never charge back to my room reservation because I pay in cash, with a credit card, or with a gift card at the time of purchase.

My extended family had an over charge once, some years ago. Disney said they would reverse it, but none of us have ever used room charge again at WDW because of that. And that was back when they still gave you a paper bill at the end of your stay. I always reviewed the bill before we left.

I have also had repeated problems with my Magic bands working over the years, and many attempts to get them fixed. Sometimes they work fine; other trips they only work as a park ticket (and FP), but I couldn't open the room door. Best solution was to ask for a plastic card.

A long time ago, I read - somewhere on these boards- a way to help was to deactivate ALL your old Magic bands in MDE.
