Has this happened to anyone?

I know that this is not disney-related, but the strangest thing happened to me yesterday! I purchased a 12 pack of diet coke cans (in a box) and half of the cans are empty! The cans are closed just like the others but empty. I couldn't believe it. My dh says return it to the store but maybe i should try to contact coca cola directly. Strange! Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else

I would probably think I had won something lol , You can just take it back to the store, or you can contact Coke. The store will just exchange the problem pkg. for another. Coke will probably either, tell you to take it back to the store, send you a coupon for a new pkg, or send you lots of coupons for few pkgs. I had this happen with pillsbury toaster strudle I didn't take it back to the store because I didn't think that they would believe me (open box with only 3 strudles ) So I sent Pillsbury an email about the box just letting them know that there may be a problem with some of their packages. They promptly sent me an email thanking me for the notification, and then upon verifying my real addy they sent me a couple of coupons for free new boxes, plus tons of GREAT coupons for other pillsbury products.

So maybe you won something after all, like a free new 12 pk

Take it back to the store and they should give you a new one. If you contact the bottling company they will tell you to return it as well.

Sounds like there was a glitch of some sort at the bottling facility. Maybe the lines they were running had just started and weren't completely ready but no one took those cans out. Or maybe they just had a few cans on 1/2 fill at the time and they didn't mean to package them up and send them out. Was it real coke in the cans or was it just syrup or something like that? Could mean that the can didn't go through the whole process before being sent out.

Take it back and get your coke.

I've had it happen where I've had individual cans that are either empty or partially empty. I'd just take it back to the store for another carton. It probably happens on a regular basis. I doubt that Coke would do much more than send you a coupon for a freebee. Sounds like to much work to me.

Yes, it has happened to me! I took mine back to the store, and they gave me a new 12-pack.

This happened to a whole case of Coke that sat in my garage (obviously too long)! It was weird!

I think it has to do with the temp changes. That was all I could think of.

I HAVE HAD IT HAPPEN BEFORE...I THOUGHT IT WAS WEIRD. HUBBY SAYS THAT ITS HAPPENED TO HIM MANY TIMES BEFORE WE GOT MARRIED. JUST TAKE IT BACK AND GET A NEW CASE

That happened to me once with a case of Pepsi - it was the strangest thing...I picked up a can and it was just full of air - I just stood there being baffled and then started laughing. I looked for a pinhole, anything, NOTHING. I called the number on the box and they sent me coupons (I think in my case it was 2 free cases coupons). In my situation, it was only 1 can that was empty - the rest were fine and I had already drank about 1/2 the case, I wasn't about to take it back to the store (actually I thought they would think I was looney if I did that).

I would call the company and let them know because then they will be aware they had a problem on that line.

You are the only other person I have ever heard it happening to. Most people just look at me like I'm looney when telling this story assuming there must have been a leak or something in the can.

It happens in the UK, too!

A friend of mine reached into a six-pack of coke and took out an extemely light can! We looked for pin holes and checked that the pack was not wet or sticky - but we couldn't find evidence of a leak!

She sent the can (unopened) to the address on the packaging and she received a letter of apology and some vouchers to buy a few more six-packs!

yah my uncle once got a full box with empty cans, they were all sealed but were completely empty, it was a factory misfunctin things or just a mistake so he contaced the company and i think he said that they sent him a brand new one or something like that. it was kinda funny lol anyway i think that if you contact the coca cola company they will help

We have had this happen before and we just take it back to the store to get new cans. The customer service people usually can't believe it until they see it but they give us a new pack.

I would call coke, you will probably get more coupons with them, if you return it you will only get the same that you bought. I bought diapers from wallyworld and over 1/2 the diapers had no sticky tape. I called pampers and they had me send 1 back with the processing number on the bag. they sent me coupons for almost 300 diapers. The lady i spoke to said they cant fixed the problem without knowing about it and she was glas that I called them instead of returning it to the store.

Call coke directly. They will send you a coupon for a replacement pack and then (most likely) extra coupons. This has always been my experience with companies. I think companies like to know these things when they happen. They will take the code off the can and it can tell them exactly where that soda was bottled, on what "line", at what time,etc. It's helpful for them to know. They can track or pinpoint problems. I don't think they do this for every can, of course, but if all of a sudden there is a spike in problems its helpful information.

I would contact Coke. We had a problem with a Pepsi can that exploded last year. My DH called them and we ended up with A LOT of coupons for free 12pks, 24 pks, and 2 liter bottles. My husband also got a really nice Mountain Dew hooded sweatshirt as well as a Pepsi t-shirt.

Saw it a few times working at the grocery store. Some times I think taht it is some ones idea of a joke.
