Has there been a price increase on sold out resorts?

I saw a post saying that the direct price for GFV had increased from $230 to $250. Has there been a price increase on the other sold out resorts? I'm considering a small direct buy. Although I hate to pay their prices, small contracts at BW with an April UY are hard to come by and it's where I want to stay.

You could always just buy a different UY and use those points solely to book BWV so you don’t have to merge them with your other points.

But yes after a resort sells out they will inflate the price significantly to sold out pricing. Even when they do offer sales on sold out resorts usually the sold out pricing is so high it’s still not worth it.

Have you looked into renting DVC points or a point transfer instead?

BWV direct prices are ludicrously high since you are only going to be getting 17 years worth of points.

$240pp / 17 years = $14.12pp
Dues = $8.67

Total p/yr = $22.79

I ended up with a second UY because of my BWV resale - as PP said, I will only use them there so it hasn’t been a problem. I would def recommend going that route.

Thanks but my home resort is BWV. I've always stayed there, now I'm retired and I want to stay a bit longer. I really don't want to deal with another UY.

I am not sure about this post. My understanding is right now you can't buy VGF from disney direct at any price.

Update, no price increase on BWV direct. I just bought a small add on. I know it doesn't make financial sense but I want to be there, and I don't want the stress of trying to get my BW view studio at 7 months for Food and Wine. Life is short, do what makes you happy.

As a random VGF update, I checked again with our Guide yesterday since it had been two months since I last asked, but still no available points at VGF and no waitlist or anticipated timing for either of those.
