Has the 'Magic" been lost since purchasing?

I guess I join the minority with the magic has changed! We recently sold our dvc contract. Don't get me wrong I still love Disney, but we found we were going "because we have to use these points". DS is 17 now and isn't interested in going. The grandchildren are too young to enjoy at this point and their parents aren't all that interested in going. So life circumstances change. We will still go if we want, but to pay the maintenence fees and pay off the purchase didn't make sense anymore. It also didn't help that our last trip at BWV was less than magical. I wouldn't discourage anyone from buying DVC since we had 4 years of Disney trips and didn't loss any money on the sale.

We have been to WDW at least once every year since 1991. It was because the magic has never lost it's affect on us that we decided to buy into DVC in 2003. We realized that we were going to continue to go so decided to spend the $$ to make sure we would have a top notch place to stay without having to hope that decent discounts came along.
For us it's "magic" to know that no matter what has gone wrong during the year we will always have that little island of semi-sanity in an otherwise totally crazy world.
Our goal is to add-on enough points by the time we retire so that we can spend the worst part of Winter at WDW. :cool1:

I've been a member since 2000 and haven't lost any magic... :)
Whether I go by myself or with other people, DVC always makes it better. With better accommodation and no big bills to pay at the end of the trip... can't beat that... :cool1:
Also, knowing that WDW will always try to evolve, adding more resorts, attractions, restaurants, and other entertainment options I feel that this is one of the best big purchases I've ever made.
Buyers remorse was there when I had to pay off the loan in one lump sum (personal issues). But it went away pretty fast as soon as I made my next reservation... hehehe...

Well, I have to laugh at the idea of getting burned out after four or so years of Disney.

I grew up in Tampa, so have pretty much gone every year (many years more than once) since 1972, and I still find it terrific to hit those "Walt Disney World" signs on the Osceola Parkway.

My trips have certainly evolved over the years. First, I was a kid, and spent all day pounding the parks. Then, I hit college, and we spent more time eating and drinking our way around the world, going to Pleasure Island, dancing, etc. Then I got married and we did lots of romantic trips before joining DVC. We knew if we joined DVC we'd have a lot more options about spending time there, that we'd have plenty of room when we had kids, and we'd be able to invite family/friends. Now we have DS, 3, and we enjoy Disney in a whole new light. We love the parks, but we also just like chilling out by the pools or in the lovely rooms (hotel rooms are really hard to stomach now!)

I agree with starting small. We did, and when we used every point every year, we knew it was time for a small addon.

Haven't read all the replies, but for us there is more magic on every trip!!! :cool1:

The Magic just keeps getting more "Magical" for us. We've been every year, sometimes twice a year since 1993. Bought DVC in 1997. We are currently borrowed into our 2006 points already. If we could afford it, we'd buy more points. We have a very long list of non Disney locations we'd like to try using our points. Even if we decided we'd lost the magic, DVC would continue to serve our vacation desires with other locations.
