by the way your beagle is so cute. reminds me of my beagle who I had to have put down a few years ago. her name was Cruella. She was sick with cancer from drinking contaminated well water. that is another long story about our neighborhood's private wells being contaminated by some factories not far from our homes. big mess. big law suit which will no doubt drag on for years.

Trolling happens everywhere on the 'net. My experience: coupon boards, frugality and simplicity board I used to frequent all the time, breastfeeding boards, fitness boards, and here.

Freaks are just a part of life and the DISboards are not immune.

You know its funny that you say that, I bet some do. I will be honest, on more then one occasion I have wanted to respond on a post but didn't because I didn't want to come across as being too harsh or mean, although it was just my opinion. Having an alterego... now that could come in handy... just use it when you have "evil persona" things to say. Liberation to some Im sure. hmmm be on the lookout for "EVILPoohgirl" coming to a dis forum near you....

I have wanted to respoind on a post, and it may sound harsh, but I do it anyways.

Seriously, aren't we all kind of "anonymous" here? If someone doesn't like me on the internet, it is not that big of a deal. Most of the time, people will judge that on a single post anyways, as you can't really know a "whole" user on the internet alone. I don't see the need to hide behind an alias.

I've noticed it seems to happen a lot more during the summer time. I think maybe because more people are home, or the heat just makes some people wacky!

I think I know of one in particular who post under two names. The condescending tone of the posts from two usernames is just too close to not be the same person.

That is very interesting. I have a similar suspicion. And it isn't like I look for this stuff. It just came to me. I *think* they wanted me to figure it out.

One poster lied about their age. Said they were in their early 20s and then said they were in their late 40s. I didn't "out" them, because I don't care, but I thought it was weird (and dumb.)

I think because this is a Disney board it is a natural target for those with too much time on their hands. The trolls do seem to be everywhere though; TripAdvisor.com and LasVegasTalk.com have their fair share as well.

I guess I'm not that observant! I applaud those of you who have figured out double-identities and those who have been banned and come back again - I can hardly keep my own life straight let alone set up multiple personas on the internet!

I think a pp hit the nail on the head. Trolls seem to happen more in summer which suggests bored high schoolers to me... I think it's probably time for the lawm to be mowed, garbage to be taken out, laundry folded, or the groceries bagged as opposed to sitting in a bedroom on a computer all day.

you should try a divorce message board, oh boy, scary. That's how I broke into the "message board world". Not only do you get trolls but you get the "pro father" or "pro mother" people who are just freaks, I swear. No middle ground whatsoever and to promote their message they totally forget about the kids.

Trolls don't surprise me, but I was surprised at the scam this past week here on the boards and I'm still shaking my head about that one.

When I still watched Trading Spaces I would go to their message board. There were so many trolls there that it stopped being fun. When I found the Dis I was surprised that there were so few trolls here.

I think the big problem is that people keep feeding them. If I think it is a troll I just don't respond, but even after posters have said they think the OP is a troll, people keep posting and the thread goes on and on. But then I don't understand the need to respond to a thread with the same thing that has already been said 20 times.

I never pay enough attention to who is posting to notice if someone has more than one user name.
