Like the time that I tried to use my Fast Pass after the return time but the cast member was nice enough to let me in, anyway. Then, I had to duck out of line to go to the bathroom and people got mad when I tried to get back in line with the rest of my group but we didn't care because we were a Brazilian tour group who just chanted louder than the other guests could complain.

Well, I am staying at All Star resort and I am going to go over to the deluxe resorts to pool hop, bring my old mug AND make sandwiches with all the free condiments on my next trip.

Oh, and I am going to wait until 5 minutes before the parade, and get in front of you, then put my kid on my shoulders.

I am also going to bring my sick children who are throwing up. They will be fine right? Their fevers are down to 100.7 and they haven't been sick since 7am, so we can make a 9am rope drop.

And when they get tired by 4pm and start screaming I will just yell at them and keep dragging them through the parks, I mean I spent thousands of $$$ on this vacation so I want to spend every minute showing them the magic.

I agree with this. I also understand the OP's point. As mentioned... "their board, their rules".

Is it fair? Maybe, maybe not. But if you (general) don't like it, there are other boards out there.

Well, yes. (Although, its not limited to gay topics.) These threads stay open and we don't rip each other to shreds. Gay marriage is an important discussion for many, but very near and dear to your heart. I understand and respect that. There are other topics, that are important and personal to others...including me. So, it does appear to be hypocritical and intolerant, which is more than a bit ironic. Maybe, even a little confusing...

However, those poster can sometimes make it fun to watch.....JUST KIDDING.

Seriously, I don't mind threads about hot topics, but I don't think there is any reason for people to get nasty and personal - as if they really know someone that they have never met.

I have different opinions on different topics - sometimes I lean left, sometimes I lean right, it just depends on what it it about. Then there are things that either, I don't care about, or don't effect me (I know that one sounds bad) so I just don't look into it enough to be able to give a real opinion. I guess my point it, NONE of it, is worth getting upset and ugly about.

Part of what makes this world go around is that we are all different.

Now if someone is just a complete Moran - well, then I can't help with that.

I wish that we could discuss interesting controversial topics too. I know that I could go somewhere else, but after you've posted here for a while you sort of feel like you "know" people, I don't want to have to get to "know" new people!

I wish along with you. However, I'm realistic, not all will behave. I feel they could allow topics, but if the discussion gets out of hand (name calling, insults, etc), then lock the thread and reprimand the posters.

As fun as it would be I understand the ban. This is a board about happiness and Disney. When politics and religion are discussed the worst comes out in people.

The reality is, for some, Disney is a religion and political. Moderators have a tough job because the gray area can be the size of the Grand Canyon. And I worked with a guy years ago who made a very convincing argument that everything in life is political.

Some posters don't want certain subjects discussed. They know, what will shut a thread down and do it intentionally. There are numerous subjects that fall into this category...not just banned topics.

I still remember when they WERE allowed. It was UGLY... And believe me, I was one of them.


The DIS doesn't have paid moderators, they could never have enough mods with enough time to moderate those posts. Most of them ride the middle line that is hard to decide whether it follows the rules or not... and believe me the people here know how to work it.

Keep them off. When I want politic talk, I know where to go, when I want to escape it, I come here.

That's so much work, though, and really annoying work at that. Can you imagine having to read all the "Susie was mean to Bobby!" post reports, wade through the thread, figure out who has to be put in time out, and then listen to the subsequent whining?

No thanks!!! It's bad enough having to moderate discussions about line jumpers and extra buns.
