Has School Started in Chicago?

This is the last week before school starts for my grandaughters. So I was thinking about making a trip down to Gurnee to spend a day at Six Flags. It'd be great if Chicago schools were in session, or at least some of them. Are they?

a lot of the suburban schools went back this week, the Chicago Public Schools start after labor day.

Since Great America (and the many local park districts pools!!) hire College and high school kids, they are only open on weekends...

We're 60 miles SW of Chicago, and my kids started school Aug. 21st.

So it sounds like crowds will be low, but they close early. I guess I'll go for it. I just hope that my older granddaughter can drag herself out of bed so we can get there around opening.

Gurnee schools and most of the surrounding suburbs are back in school. Chicago schools start after Labor Day.

We are in the western suburbs and we start tomorrow. Yeah for me!!
