Has Frozen Summer Fun drastically boosted crowds at DHS?

I was curious if there has been anyone here that has been to the park since Frozen Summer Fun started and if they noticed a lot more people in the park. I'm especially interested at what night-time crowds have been like since they added the Frozen fireworks?

Thank you in advance!:thumbsup2

Well I haven't stayed for the fireworks, but I've been a couple times during the day and, with the exception of opening day, crowds have been fine/hardly a noticeable increase

i was there 7/5,7/8,/710 at park opening and it was a nightmare. The rush for TSM is insane and almost dangerous because now they let you into to the park 15 minutes before opening only to hold you near the hat for an official Olaf opening. This causes a crazy crush for TSM in which I almost was run over. Seriously. I did notice DHS was pretty busy while Epcot was empty

Epcot was empty during your whole stay?

Has anyone stayed for the fireworks?

Was there yesterday. Would have to say no. GMR was a walk on, They couldn't fill 4 complete rows at the American Idol Experience. RnRC was a 30-40 minute wait all afternoon. TSMM had long waits (maybe 70 minutes) but was still less than I normally see there. Don't recall exactly, but thing ToT was no more than 10-20 minutes.

Much of the Frozen stuff was just stupid...the 'Flat Stanley Olaf', the treating the opportunity to buy merchandise as an attraction, the tiny ice skating rink. Have to say though that the end of the night fireworks were impressive and very well done. Really enjoyed them as was the short show with Anna, Elsa and Kristoff.

DisUniversal...did it seem like the park filled up more for the fireworks?

Not really. The 'Desert Party' area looked fairly full, but there were plenty of good spots to watch the fireworks. We manged to grab a picnic bench with a nice view maybe 20-30 minutes before the fireworks started.

Wow, I didn't realize there was an Olaf opening! So excited! :yay:

According to Josh's latest tour (including the Frozen stuff), the added activities didn't make the crowds any worse than they would have been on that day. He specifically went on a non-recommended day to see if things had been made worse by Frozen. All in all, he said there were plenty of viewing spots for the parade and fireworks, there aren't significant lines for Oaken's anymore and the singalongs seem to have tickets available for most of the day.

"They couldn't fill 4 complete rows at the American Idol Experience"

Well it is American Idol :rotfl2:

I'm hoping that this Frozen area will mean lower crowds in other parks for my trip in August.

Yep. They couldn't even find a 3rd performer either...and for some reason our judging panels had two "Randy's". Guess they couldn't even get a fake Simon. :)

How would you compare the fireworks to the MK's "Wishes"?

Are they as long or as "good"?

Where did you sit for the fireworks? That's really the only "Frozen" event we're interested in :goodvibes

Hard to compare, but to me the fireworks felt as long and perhaps even a little longer than Wishes, however it wasn't all fireworks. There's a stage show that is part of it. At one point there's sort of a finale and it seems as if the show is over, but...they haven't played Let it Go yet, so you know it's not really over. ;) I thought they were as good and actually were well themed to Frozen. Definitely worth seeing.

We sat to the left of the hat near that boat. Seems to me the fireworks are more enjoyable from a little ways back. If you can, make sure you have a clear view of the either the video screen on stage or of the screen on the American Idol building as the show is shown there too.
