Has Disney dropped the magic ball?

I've seen dirty bathrooms at WDW many times over. The busier bathrooms are really gross in the afternoon and evening, but there are a few that not a lot of people seem to know about that I go out of my way to use.
Oo!!! Do share! (PM me if needed so they stay a secret lol)

Flushing toilets does not clean them. When they are used continuously they get dirty and need pretty much constant cleaning. This is not due to people behaving like animals it is the frequency of use. Hygiene dictates that Disney needs to keep on top of cleaning them and removing trash
Flushing is the very least of my problems...

Agree with your post.

One of the biggest complaints involved a waaaayy disgustingly overfilled personal napkin container in the stall. (Other than the very weird inexplicable MK on Wed) Unfortunately, I didn't notice until it was too late to switch stalls. Now, the way it was left, that person clearly had no shame. Shame on you! However, an extremely overfilled napkin bin overflowing in the stall around 5pm in the afternoon.... Who's fault might that be?

Obviously the park guests for using those to begin with.o_O

We noticed it about a month ago too.

I'd probably mention the non-working items to Guest Services, especially if my kids had wanted to use it.

I can't believe that is still going on? What? Last November after our trip, I wrote to WDW and told them about the huge amounts of trash in the queue just before getting on the dune buggies. It was a mess. I got a phone call and was assured that would be taken care of. Yea, right, glad to see they now keep the area clean. THIS is what we are talking about regarding customer service, pride in their jobs, and just actually doing their jobs. We noticed 2 bored looking CM's in that area who pointedly ignored the trash! So sad to hear it is still going on!

I meant to say at the haunted mansion! This is why people still post about these things on Disney boards! It is ongoing! This was noticed LAST November!!, for heavens sake, and apparently no one is still not picking the trash up in the queue. What a shame that Disney's standards are going downward. They need to make a change in this attitude!

It's not Disney's responsibility to clean up trash. Guest should make their own magic and clean up after each other.

When I was at WDW in May that seemed to be how they were running things, a CM in each bathroom. Never saw a dirty bathroom either. But no, I don't blame Disney when they get messy. I blame the patrons who are too lazy to flush, to lazy to see to it that they are throwing their trash in the trash can and not on the ground. I've heard people make the excuse that someone is paid to clean up after them, and it makes me angry. How lazy can you be???? People shouldn't act worse than animals.

Yes!! If the same people who are dirty-ing up the bathroom at my mall getting it disgusting, are also visiting WDW then that would explain it! But I never understood why people are so nasty in bathrooms. Just pick up after yourself...

Sorry the OP is having a bad experience, the more you visit, the more likely you are to risk having some bad experience. Its easy to forget that these people are just regular people doing a job. But, Disney needs to make sure that ship is run correctly. We have not had a bad experience overall in quite a while. Our last trip was great and the CM's were wonderful. Even on a difficult day, i'd rather be in WDW than almost anywhere else. :)

My one and only claustrophobic trip through the old bathrooms in the new Peter Pan queue, I was turned off by the trashiness. I don't think CMs go through there much during the day.

I didn't say they didn't monitor social media. Of course they do. I said they don't make wholesale changes based on a few complaints on an Internet message board. They understand the type of users that are most vocal on this board and recognize that they already have those people. Even if they are complaining, they are still buying tickets and making vacation plans.

A "few" complaints, they may not listen to, but when those complaints snowball to many upon many? I was an active member on the DLR forum here a few years ago when Disney announced that they were closing the Aladdin show in DCA. The DLR boards were incredibly vocal about their displeasure in that change, and I am sure it was the same on many other DLR forums at the time as well. Fast forward to now - Aladdin never closed. It's still running full steam in DCA, *and* now it's a hit on Broadway as well.

Pete Werner has said more than a few times on his show that the amount of vocalness - both online and otherwise - by the DLR fans does play a part in the decisions that TDA makes in how they choose to run DLR. In this respect I agree with Pete, and I think WDW would be a lot better off if the fan base were as vocal there as the DLR fans are. The whole "disney doesn't care what a few have to say" viewpoint is a big difference between the WDW and DLR management styles, IMO.

We were there in February - didn't notice any of these things. We stayed off-site so I can't comment on towel animals. I hate that they don't do those anymore...such a special treat. Going again in 17 days - staying at AKV... very excited. Plan on doing a full trip report

$105.00 tickets to Magic Kingdom

$400 per night deluxe resort

Being expected to create your own magic at Disney...Priceless.
This is a silly argument. Any "deluxe" hotel in Chicago, Boston, NYC, Philly, DC costs around $400 per night. And most of them don't even have pools or awesome theming.

If they advertised themselves as "The Most Magical Place on Earth" that might be a problem but since they don't it isn't.

We were there in June with our granddaughter and they did the towel thing and put her dolls in various places on the bed in the windows etc. bathrooms at the parks were ok ,I wouldn't eat off the floors or counters, but they were clean enough. I watched many people making way to big of a mess, throwing paper towels on the floor. The magic is there ;sorry it's not working for you, try drinking it always helps me when things are going bad..lol..

We are halfway through our 10 day trip and I'm disappointed in the Little details that are missing in the parks and the cast members, I.e., no towel animals in our room (at a deluxe resort), we've encountered more than one rude castmember in the parks, the bathrooms are filthy.... It just seems the little things are missing.... I realize it's hot and crowded here so I expect other guests to be rude but so far in this trip the Disney "magic" is missing. Has anyone else noticed this or am i expecting too much based on previous vacations here?

Off the parks shortly, maybe today will have a little bit of magic....

I'm sure some people will:

1. Blame the reduction in service levels on guest behavior or;
2. Offer that they never saw such shortcomings themselves on their trips or;
3. Claim those little touches really didn't mean anything to them or;
4. Will agree with you because they feel the same way or saw the same thing.

But regardless of the reasons or the causes or even debating the very existence of such things, it truly is the smallest of efforts where the sum is greater than the whole. Small touches like towel animals are things that kids look forward to at the end of a long day in the parks. And unless you are Buc-ee's nobody really boasts about how clean their restrooms are (it's expected). Rude CM's can shatter the magic Disney bubble quicker than a slap in the face.

Like the disappearance of the peppermint candy the dealership use to leave on my dashboard after getting an oil change, this just makes me sad.

We are just back and noticed the same...bathrooms etc...CMs being downright rude on more than one occasion..the lady at the back of the tram had an all out shouting match with someone on the tram it was unreal...a CM was rude to me to my face ( yeah he soon regretted that) etc....I so get where the OP is coming from.
