Has anyone with mold allergies had problems at WDW resort hotels?

I have a client that wants to go to Disney World with her family, she has mold allergies. Do any of the resorts have problems with mold? Would a newly refurbished be better for her? I have never had a problem at any of the resorts but we have no known mold allergies. Any advice???

Missytara, Thanks, that's good to know. Do you usually stay at Port Orleans resorts or have you stayed at others?

It's Florida, so you will occasionally find mildew in the bathrooms or in areas where it gets wet.

I have a mold allergy, and I've never had trouble. I've stayed at Wilderness Lodge, Poly, Contemporary, AKL, French Quarter, CBR, Boardwalk (the villas side), Fort Wilderness Cabins, and CSR. I've really never noticed a problem with bathroom mildew, either

I'm allergic too, and I have stayed at POR many times, and never had a problem.

In fact the only thing that has every bothered my allergies at all is standing down wind of Illuminations. If your client has any smoke allergies, make sure you tell them to pay attention to which way the wind is blowing, and not to stand down wind.

Ditto for me; I have allergies to smoke and that bothers me more than anything else. I always look for the best route from my room to the main building to avoid smokey areas.

I also agree with the previous poster that no place is going to be perfect. I live in a very humid area of the country and you are always bound to see mold from time to time. I have been able to build up a tolerance to it over the years.

If it is a really severe allergy, I suggest at the time of requesting an extra cleaning; I forget what they actually refer to it as, but you can request it.

I've never had mold allergies before but ... a number of years ago, I stayed at the BWI and the room we were assigned had the shower's tile grout full of mold and it really affected me. We asked to be moved to a different room and they did, but the effects lasted me all day long.

My Ds and Dd are both severely allergic to mold . I take a Clorox bleach pen and wipes with us in the event I would need it. We have never needed it an we have stayed value every time.

Within the last week I read a trip report from someone who's room at CBR had a lot of mold in it and smelled very strongly of mold. After management checked it out, I believe they were upgraded somehow. Someone else in that same thread said they noticed their room at CBR also smelled of mold but they did not complain.

I have stayed at POR and Poly and never had a problem at either.
