I'm a bit nervous to say the least--I have tried to email and get them all bounced back as undeliverable. Right now I am trying to tweek, pay off and confirm all things on the agenda for the two weeks surrounding July 4th. The only thing I can't seem to confirm is HRP. Any suggestions?

According to their website, they're not opening until September. Anyone with reservations before that will be relocated to their sister property, The Lake Buena Vista Resort:

Thank you for visiting The Hotel Royal Plaza in the Walt Disney World Resort web site!

Hurricane Charley, Francis and Jeanne caused nonstructural damage to our beautiful resort. As a result, Management of the hotel made the tough decision to temporarily close the Hotel Royal Plaza as we make repairs and complete a magical multi-million dollar renovation. Our team is working with excitement and anticipation of our grand re-opening in September 2005.

Disney's newest renovated hotel will feature plush carpeting, exquisite draperies and will debut our new Royal Beds. Additional guest room amenities will include high speed internet access, a hair dryer, safe, refreshment center, 27" color stereo television, iron and ironing board, voice mail phone and step out balcony or patio, just to name a few. Renovations do not stop here ...

The Hotel Royal Plaza will re-open in September 2005. Plan your magical vacation now by clicking on "Make a Reservation Today" to confirm rates and availability. We will be updating our web site with the most current photos and news as our renovations progress.

For accommodations prior to September 2005, please click on the logo below for our sister property, The Lake Buena Vista Resort. It is located directly across the street and is also in the heart of Downtown Disney

If that is true than why did the website take my advance reservation for July, take the payment in full and noone notify me? Should I make a new reservation for someplace else? Oh what to do what to do? I used a link via Mousesavers that offered a discount for the advance as we renovate booking. I'm so confused!

Well, I've been confirmed back in March for my July reservations. But I just found out that they aren't opening after all until September. I've called Lake Buena Vista Resort to see if I'm confirmed there now and they said they still haven't received my information from Hotel Royal Plaza. So, now, I'm on the quest to find out where I'm to go before July!!

Ok, I called the Hotel Royal Plaza and I spoke with a very nice representative that said that the entire Hotel will not be ready for the grand opening until September, however many rooms are complete and will be available for guests who already have confirmed reservations. She said not to worry those of us with confirmed reservations are going to be alright. I'm still a little worried, but I am hopeful they will contact us if there will be a problem. I booked in January for July 8-10 and I do not want to be searching for a place to stay on July 8th.

Should I call them to confirm if I'm supposed to be at the Hotel Royal Plaza or the LBV-Best Western hotel? Do you know if they will be able to tell me? :confused3

Not sure, I called 1-800-248-7890 and they told me "don't worry we won't be putting you in a hallway" and then gave me the information I said before.

Okay, I just called and they told me that since I was already confirmed and booked that I will be able to stay at the Hotel Royal Plaza. I hate this last minute change!! I thought I had everything planned out until today. I booked thru Expedia and according to them I will not be able to find out exactly which hotel until 7 days before my departure!! ARGH....the agony!!!

I emailed yesterday to follow up the phone call--I worry waaayyy too much! The e-mail did not back up the phone conversation--it said that I could e-mail my reservation confirmation and they would book me at the other hotel or I could cancel and find my own accomadations. It said they were busy trying to notify customers to make the changes etc. I think I'm going to see if I can get anything on property with the passholder discount and if I can I'm going to cancel it altogether. Let's just say this has made me feel like why bother attempting to stay anywhere other than WDW hotels. Anyone with reservations prior to Sept. that wants the email addy PM me and I'll forward it to you afer work! :confused3

Just a quick update, I was able to make contact and able to cancel the reservation. Though disappointed that I will not be able to enjoy the resort I am happy with the alternatives given me and the professional attention that I rec'd throught he cancellation process. Lucky for me I read the DIS and knew to be proactive!
