Has anyone used the new Universal passes, buy one get one free. I just
received mine in the mail and they are all the same, but they do have a
bar code on the back. I wonder if when they are scanned at the gate if
they come up four adults or 2 adults and 2 children. Thanks for all your great
help and information.

I'm glad I'm not the only one wondering this. We took advantage of the deal even though we don't need the kids tickets. We figured we give them to some family in line as a nice "surprise" and gift. But I don't want to give them the adult tickets. I wonder if we'll need to call Univeral on this.

I am not sure if we should call them and open a can of worms. We thought
the same thing that we would give the tickets to someone and just buy two
more adult tickets if that is the case. I also hear you can upgrade the tickets
to adult tickets...is this true?

I have your answer. You need to call Universal (877-801-9720) to find out. Guess that's not really an answer, but here's what I found out. I just called and they ask for your last name and look it up. They then tell you which tickets are the child's tickets (there are numbers under the bar code that distinguish them).

You can't upgrade free tickets. They won't let you do that. As for calling them, they won't know at the parks when you use your tickets that you had called in to their main office to ask a question, so you're safe. I wonder if they're hurting for business to offer such a drastic promotion. Not that I care - I save a ton of money.

Dont call!!

I just picked up my tickets from the kiosk and used them a couple of days ago, no problems at all ! and my kids are considered adults

So let me get this straight. I was planning on buying 2 parks/2 days passes for me, my husband, my 12yr. old son, and my 8yr. old son. So I was going to order 3 adult passes and get my 8yr. old free. Now your saying I can buy 2 adult passes and use the other two for both my boys???
I don't want to get stuck at the gates and have to then buy a pass for my 12yr. old, but on the other hand I would rather spend an extra $100 in the parks then on the parks. ;)
TIA, Melissa

Here we go again!!
This topic has been beaten to death.
Order 2 and pay for home delivery. See what you get. If its not to your liking order 2 more.
You can take you chances at the kiosk but you are only entitled to 2 adult tickets so you should not be shocked if thats what comes out of the machine.
This is a a very YMMV type of deal.
Good Luck!

melissa, PM Phamton. she works in guest relations at both parks. I'm of the understanding that the new tickets are generic, and offer access to the parks to all. UO isn't running a casino or a lottery.

Not a lottery if you order them to your home..but without knowing the dates of travel, there is no way to guarantee what the kiosks will be printing in the future.

but UO's ticketing system logs your confirmation and the ticket deal you paid for. we purchased our AP's back when they were buy one year, get one year free. you had to enter a code into the site to get the deal. we picked them up at a kiosk after the deal had officially expired. we still got the 2 year AP's.

YMMV = your mileage may vary.

Don't call = was me agreeing with the OP.

thanks, I missed the can of worms post. I would think they got thousands of calls on this already anyway.
