Has anyone used the new DVC tickets without DVC member present?

I want to buy some of the DVC special deal tickets for family members who will be traveling with us in October. Since they will use park hopper and waterpark options, the DVC special tickets are a little cheaper than Undercover Tourist. BUT, supposedly the DVC member has to show a membership card to use the tickets. DH and I plan to be there but DH's health is fragile and we never really know until the last minute if we will be able to go. I am just wondering if anyone out there has ordered and linked the tickets to Magic Bands and then just used them without having to go to a Guest Relations window to show a DVC card.

If you pick up the tickets at Guest Services and don't activate them, you need the DVC member card to pick them up. Once you have them, you shouldn't need the member card to use them.

I was hoping to just order online rather than go to Guest Relations when we are there in March. I really hate all the time it takes at Guest Relations. But I guess I will just have to suck it up and get it done there.

I would think they would just link like any other ticket and you would only end up at guest services if there was a problem.

I wa looking at getting a couple in a day or two (online) for family for April but we won't use the water park so just going with UCT which is a little less expensive for the hopper ticket, otherwise I could have told you how they'd link up - as tickets or just a voucher type.

Any tickets you buy with DVC membership must be picked up at Guest Services and you have to show your member card to pick them up. From the AP site:
Pass Pick-Up Information

Once you receive your pass certificate, you must exchange it for a valid pass prior to first use at one of the following locations: any Walt Disney World theme park or water park ticket window, or any Guest Relations location. You will need to show a valid photo ID to pick up your pass.

It said that for last years $199 ticket I believe also but it ended up not being required.

Correct. I got several $199 tickets for family and we didn't need to go to Guest Relations with DVC card. But I haven't read yet of anyone who has tried it with this year's deal.

I just ordered 5 of the DVC tickets yesterday. Just like every other ticket I've purchased the last few years directly from Disney via the DVA, they are being shipped to my house (actual ticket, not voucher), are already linked in my MDE account to both DVC and non-DVC family members, and will not require me to go to Guest Relations.
