Has anyone used powdered drinks in their britta water bottles?

I have a non-water drinker and hate the idea of all that pop to drink (cost, carbonation and sugar). Has anyone taken small amounts of powdered drink mix with them and added it to the water? Does it mess up the filter?

Thanks for any help.:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I would think that it would mess up the filter. Maybe you can filter the water first and then transfer it into another bottle with the mix. Or, just bring bottles of water and put in the drink mix.

My kids are non water drinkers too. I always have powdered juice, but I don't use the Brita bottles. that would probably not work with the filter. I just use regular water bottles or Powerade bottles with the spill proof top. I use the Brita's for water to filter some of the bad taste I find, but there is no bad taste after you make juice.

I drink Crystal Light and just use a regular water bottle.

You cannot put a flavored drink through the filter. But you can use the brita to filter water into another bottle and add the flavoring into the second bottle.

You CAN put a flavored drink through the filter and it will taste fine. I just took a swig of mine as I was typing this. Yummy grape water. Whether it messes up the filter or not is the question...and I guess if it does, oh well. That's the only way I'll drink water. It's still debatable whether or not tap water is going to be the death of us anyway. In fact, the arguments all seem to side on tap water being perfectly fine for us...it's all about taste for me. And I'll say right now, these Brita bottles taste perfect with Crystal Light mixed in. (Although the first swig isn't quite as good as the second after it's been sitting for a few minutes...)

I thought the Brita water bottles were discontinued waaaay back when??? Did they start selling them again? If so, do you have a link where they can be purchased? Or are you just using your old ones?

Sorry, but I loved these things and misplaced mine years ago. Would love to have another one.

I've seen them at Target. I think they have Camelback ones, too, but I think (my memory could be way off!) that you can get 2 britta ones for the price of one camelbac.

It's not that it won't taste OK, it will, but the filter will be useless after you do it, and will accumulate bacteria fairly quickly, because you won't be able to get the residue of the drink mix out of the filter.

If you want to do this, remove the filter first and use it without the filter with drinks other than water. You can put the filter back on once the bottle has been cleaned.
