DH is joining us for the first time since we purchased at the BW. I've been many times, but he's never been able to make it.

I think he'd like the workout facility.

Has anyone here used the facility and how much was it for the week?

Any information will be appreciated. I really want him to enjoy his "first trip home". ::yes::

If you are staying at BWV then there is no charge for using this facility. If you are staying elsewhere then there is a $12.00 per day charge.

We were there in June and I used the fitness center everyday. I'm a runner so I didn't use the weights at all and can't give you any sort of opinion on the weight equipment other than it looks nice. They have several treadmills and and a couple eliptical machines. Also a I think I saw a stairmaster somewhere.

Cost....zero :-)

I believe it's always been free for DVC members and as of June 1st there is not cost for anyone staying at either side of the Boardwalk resort.

Have a great vacation.

Its actually a pretty nice facility compared to gyms you may find at a regular hotel....................lots of equipment free weights, machines and cardio machines................It does seem to get a little bit more crowded than Sturdy Branches at the WL but not too crowded that an avid 'gym goer' couldn't handle..........

Enjoy..................:teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

Quite busy in the am - very quiet rest of day

DVC members staying anywhere on WDW property are allowed to use the health club facilities gratis

thanks

Nice facility. Adequte for a vacation work out.

We've used it several times and it has always been a pleasant experience. The staff is very nice and the place is spotless.

Thanks for the information. I don't know why I thought there was a charge for everyone.

I've always "peeked" in as exercise is the last thing on my mind when I'm in WDW :) but I think DH will enjoy it. My exercise iw walking all through the parks!!

Thanks again!

You were right. Last time I attempted to use the gym in May, 2003, while at BWV, I was told there was a daily charge of $10. It had been free then a charge, now apparently free again!

Even if there was a charge I was going to set it up. DH hasn't been to WDW in over 8 years. He's not exactly the "Disney Nut" of the family and I wanted him to have things to do that he liked. I know he'll have a good time, but if he doesn't feel like going to a park he can hang around the pool and/or work out!

Whateve he wants; it's his vacation too.

I used the facilities a few times while staying there a couple of weeks ago. There was no charge at any time. You simply had to sign in and show either DVC member card or DVC room card.

They have all the good basic equipment -- almost identical to my gym at home, which is a very nice place. The only difference was the models of the machines were a few years younger. I felt very comfortable there. The place was also pretty much empty in the late afternoon when I would go.

I had a massage there, too. I think her name was Rhonda. She was fantastic--really knew what she was doing.

disneycrazed139 - may I ask what you paid for the massage????

The prices for the massage started at $70 for 1/2 hour to $150 for a full hour. we were there last weekend. Great gym not too crowded with very good equipment.
